Putting anything from the 90s above anything from the 00s is wild. I think what hurts the Mania 26 match more then Michael Cole being the lead is having Matt Striker there.

Taker & Shawn crossed paths again in the royal rumble 2008. They started off as 1 & 2, and the year prior they were the final two of the 07 rumble. Thought that was so awesome.
Their whole story from 2007-2010 was so cool. The hints of them feuding before WM 25 were so cool to see. Especially since they were there the longest and hadn’t wrestled in the same ring since 1998. Taker was the Smackdown legend and Shawn was the RAW legend.
I'm kinda bummed whenever someone just dismisses the entire '95 in WWF, cause it has a special place in my heart, particularly Shawn winning the Rumble from the No.1 spot when Bulldog was already celebrating as if he had won. The multiple replays of only one of Shawn's feet touching the ground at a time etc. And then the whole injury angle after the infamous bar fight, the 'Tell me a lie" video, I will always defend 1995.
Yes, but that’s being sentimental and subjective. Objectively, 1995 wasn’t great. Business was down.
Shawn is also the only man to go up against the face of their respective generation while in their prime

My theory on why Shawn vs Bret was no falls is because they were built as the 2 best wrestlers in the world and it was going to be damn near impossible for either to surrender a pin. This also was the 1st time in mania history where 2 amazing wrestlers were in the main event. Steaks were high for this one so it makes sense to me
I agree. It had to be 0-0 and go to overtime to protect both wrestlers. If Bret was 2-0 up then Bret would need to be beaten 3 times!! That would be terrible. WWE did it right thanks to Pat Patterson RIP who helped put the match together. For me Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels are the greatest two wrestlers of all time.
Not the first time two amazing wrestlers were in the main event. Many people consider Yokozuna to be one of the best super heavyweights in wrestling history, so him vs Bret Hart at WMX would be the first.

I’ve always felt the problem with this match was the crowd. The crowd was quiet not only for it but they were quiet for really the entire show and it seemed like they didn’t want to be there.

I am a lapsed GMW fan (back in the day, I got mentioned in one of his videos for telling him not to sell out - it's the one with the Bobby Heenan background image) and once he finally revealed his face (yes, that was a thing for a WHILE back in the early 2010s) he always struck me as looking like Stone Cold. Now, though, looking at him in this video, he is a dead ringer for a bald LA Knight. YEAH!

Oh boy you both jumped on the typical wm12 Ironman match is overrated train. What youre both missing was the anticipation of the match. Going 0-0 made it more impressive. Having a high scoring Ironman match just scream of spot fest finisher nonsense. I know a lot of you toddlers love your spot fest but the pacing of this match was better than rock triple h there weren’t a shit ton of run in and bullshit. It was who’s the best both teedering back and forth throughout the match. Shawn showing a different side with a mat based wrestling in the beginning of the match and the tie made it interesting because you didn’t know what to expect after the match was over. Then the overtime was perfect. To say “this match isn’t rewatchable because of it going 0-0 and knowing that”. You could literally say that about any match you’ve already watched because you know the outcome. 🤦♂️
