And the best part is, you can fix these pickleball mistakes the next time you are on the court.
4:17 - Pickleball Mistake #1: Hitting Out Balls
One of the most prevalent errors players make is hitting balls that are clearly headed out of bounds. By mastering court awareness and shot selection, you can avoid this mistake and keep the game in your favor. If your opponent hits the pickleball hard below the net, it will often sail out of bounds. Don't hit this ball. Rule of thumb, 'shoulder high, let it fly'.
8:05 - Pickleball Mistake #2: Not Holding Your Ground at the Non-Volley Zone
Failing to maintain your position at the non-volley zone can leave you vulnerable to aggressive opponents. Learn the importance of controlling the kitchen and strategies to stay ahead in the game.
9:43 - Pickleball Mistake #3: Impatience with Shots
Impatience can lead to rushed shots and missed opportunities. Discover the art of patience in pickleball, allowing you to set up and execute winning plays with precision.
10:30 - Pickleball Mistake #4: Dropping Your Pickleball Paddle When Playing at the Kitchen Line
Being caught off guard can result in missed shots and lost momentum. Explore the proper stance and paddle position to ensure you're always prepared for the next move.
11:30 - Pickleball Mistake #5: Gripping the Paddle Too Hard for Soft Shots
An overly tight grip can hinder your control and finesse, causing soft shots to pop up and become easy targets for your opponents. Find the balance between power and touch, enhancing your overall performance on the court.

Shoulder high let it fly is outdated…the amount of topspin you can impart onto ball with current paddles make that saying lies

Thanks for the feedback. That's why we said 'as a general rule'. Obviously this isnt the case 100% of the time. This video is geared for beginning and intermediate play, and 'generally speaking' 2.5-3.5 players aren't putting enough spin on the ball to do what you are saying....so at that level, if its over your shoulder, you are better off letting it go.

The pace of the shot will determine if it is flying out. I have side stepped balls waste high and they flew out. Pace dude pace.

@@jimzimmerman5288 of course. That’s why we said pay attention to backswing. You’re only 14 ft away from you opponent so you need to see the clues early to make that split second decision
