This is somehow one of the most beautiful things I've seen in some time - both from the art & artist perspective, and from the directing and editing process.
So beautifully done! There are many videos of relief printmaking processes on CZcams but this one provides a glimpse of the way print based artists look back (to their proofs, and to print history) as well as forward when developing their images. Love these glimpses of the East London print studio and the way that Wuon-Gean Ho reflects on the choreography of press work. This beautifully edited video is a clear standout. Thanks!
A Filmmaker and an artist meet each other in passing
A few thoughts only shown
and the caring mind of the artist.
got shown this in art class and I just had to come back, this video is honestly so beautiful to me
amazing work 💯
What wonderfully evocative images the artist creates! Thank you so much for this video.
I love the way you describe your movements. I totally understand that. It feels good.
her voice so so soothing
Thank you!
Beautiful film. So inspiring
Amazing interview, picture and music. Bravo, V&A! Also, this could make a fantastic ASMR video :)
ASMR! Yes! I love the little sounds of printing because they are so soothing...
This is such a cool take on linocut, I’m learning linocut at the moment in school and it is really fun, however I must practice more to reach the level of linework and colouring from her. Such an informative video!
Absolutely stunning and informative video, beautifully put together.
What a beautiful video! I'm currently making lots of lino prints around plants and your cuts are so small yet so smooth! We have a similar press in our University print room and it can be a hard one to control (probably because of its age!) Really really lovely work, you've got a new fan!
Loved, loved this. Thank you. x
Fantastic work. My favorite contemporary printmaker.
Wonderful!! Thanks for sharing this.
Hello wo jean. So glad I stumbled on this. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ from portland
Thank you so much for sharing your artistic life in this video. You mentioned the print location as a utopian sharing system. Is there any information, especially videos, explaining the actual origin and set up of the community print shop? I love the idea of a group of artists sharing expensive or heavy artistic equipment. Does the print shop also house a museum, of sorts, of its member’s works? Is there a commission system of sharing proceeds from work made there? I apologize for not knowing anything about this setup, by I am in the US and I am not familiar with the locations or setups in London. I am also , sadly, not an artist (despite my sincere desire to be artistic). The concept of a communal use of art space is exciting to me.
Hi, you can find out more about East London Printmakers here: www.eastlondonprintmakers.co.uk/
It would be so nice to welcome you to the studio: if you are ever in London please let me know!
such lovely work
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up as a support
Mesmerizing. I loved hearing the thought process. I'm curious about the part where she wiped away a bit of ink for a lighter tone (3:55). I'm super new to linocut and haven't seen this done before. Does this technique have a name?
Hallo! Thank you! I made that technique up... It's just a way of having a lighter area of ink, so I wipe away the ink with a cloth in some areas and then roll up once with a thin layer, and end up with a double tone... :)
@@wuon-geanho8943 Hi Wuon-Gean, so nice to hear from you directly! What a great technique, it adds a special dimension to your work!
how does she get those colors like that its amazing
a beautiful work and art, i have enjoyed of video and at last, i have lost in its music...
This video was absolutely beautiful and insightful, almost as much as the art of the printmaker. Also, I desperately need to find the song used throughout!
So pleased you like the film. The music was composed by Steve Baker: www.stevebakermusic.com/
They look so pretty. I thought the blocks would be thicker, well I suppose it had to be thin for the press.
💟
Wonderful Video, I´ve seen the Composer for the Music is Steve Baker but i am not able to find the title of the Song. Would appriciate a helping hand if possible.
Glad you like the film! The music was composed specially for this film.
@@vamuseum Thanks for replying, even with a, for me, sad answer. Its a beatiful piece of music.
Can i do this for living please?
I want to be a lifelong student of her artistry
