    Oil Fires, always remember to slap the handle in a down ward motion and fling it all over your self What this technique does is is flings fire all over you so that way when you run out side the fire is not inside anymore.

    you are not suposed to use a fog stream because the center can allow heat to come back to you you are suposed to use a straight stream because you can aim it exactly where you want it and it goes through the air and doesent act as a funnle

    Actually it’s rare to see another house catch fire from the first one. Second, a pan fire can be put out with just an extinguisher, then throw the cookie sheet on top and carry the whole pot with a pot holder outside and spray it with the hose or throw snow on it and burry it in the snow. Using just the cookie sheet could cause a re-ignition and causing it to get even bigger.

    • @mrs117firewife8
      @mrs117firewife8 Před 5 lety

      I'm very disappointed in this video. You never, ever ever throw water on a grease fire, and only CERTAIN fire extinguishers should be used. But you are right, if it is hot enough, it could reignite and flash if the cookie sheet is removed too soon. Baking soda is best on a grease fire.

    • @intellectualrebel5340
      @intellectualrebel5340 Před 2 lety +1

      Don't carry burning pans around. If you spill burning oil, you spread the fire. Cover it with a lid and wait for it to cool (at least 30 min).

    • @WitchidWitchid
      @WitchidWitchid Před 2 lety

      @@mrs117firewife8 You can also use a class ABC dry chem fire extinguisher or a class K wet agent fire extinguisher (class F in Europe I believe). The class K extinguisher uses water + a wetting /foaming agent and discharges as a mist rather than the direct stream you would get from a water extinguisher. The agent spreads over the top of the burning liquid where it both cools and cuts off the air supply to the fire.

    • @WitchidWitchid
      @WitchidWitchid Před 2 lety

      . "Actually it’s rare to see another house catch fire from the first one."
      True, but In more densely populated urban areas or suburban it is not uncommon for a fire in one building to spread to a nearby exposure. Often damage to the exposure is minimum or prevented as one of the main concerns of the fire dept. is to protect adjacent exposures.

    I would love to see what it would look like to have the same kind of shingles... but more aged... tis kind of silly to have new shingles... that has yet to experience the different seasons and determine if the fire safety level is any better...

    • @Chuck59ish
      @Chuck59ish Před 7 lety +1

      But that's how new shingles get their ratings.

    • @calmperson101
      @calmperson101 Před 7 lety

      that may be true... but what really matters is how the hold up after a couple of seasons... or even longer. Is it just like dried up bark? or does it actually hold up a bit better than I what I would think would be the same as holding a dry piece of wood, waiting for it to catch on fire easily.

    • @Chuck59ish
      @Chuck59ish Před 7 lety

      They probably test that too, most roofing shingles have a 25 to 30 year lifespan.

    What’s wrong with this picture?👆🏼
    I’ll give you a hint...the firefighter’s wearing something over his face that doesn’t appear to be of concern to the host. With due respect sir, these plastics you’re referring to are toxic and kill people and you just walked into a smoldering environment of it and video taped it.🤔.
    Even more dangerous than the fire itself and how rapidly it spreads, are the off gases you just breathed in...Just a lil heads up.
