If he paid attention to the herd that are regulars there he'd know to just walk through the lobby rather than having to awkwardly climb walls. Much more comfortable and dignified :-)

Was this elephant blind or partially blind, as watching the way it was using its trunk gave me the impression it may have a sight problem, having watched a blind elephant use the trunk in the same way the elephant was known to be blind and looked the same.

Very smart animal, we humans are the encroachers of their territory in my country they are so intelligent that they quietly scout out the weak area of the electric fencing kick it down and enter the area without getting electrocuted.

Haha - very true! He has since learned that it is easier to come up the side steps, so that is his chosen route now.

The lodge was built on traditional, known, and established elephant paths.
Actually, there isn't an elephant path, but they come to get to the wild mango tree in the courtyard, and they'll take whatever route they choose!

They are actually coming to get the wild mango fruit from the tree in the courtyard; there is no food storage anywhere near the area.
They are hungry, that's all. They don't erect slaughterhouses to solve their hunger.
