  • The Cruzbike S40 recumbent bike is a refined, performance road machine that takes on flats and mountains with equal proficiency (and glee). And it's ridiculously fun and comfortable to ride so you can go day after day after day.
In this video, Robert Holler walks through the assembly process for the 2023 Cruzbike S40 Complete Recumbent Bike.

My new S40 arrived today. V prompt service. Couldn’t resist and assembled tonight thanks to this helpful video. Looking forward to my first ride as soon as work and weather allow 😮

I’m putting together my S40. I just finished building my wheels and was putting them on the frame.. I noticed the thru axel isn’t bolting in on the other side as there are no threads. I notice on your video that you installed the derailleur hanger and derailleur before you put your wheel on. Does the thru axle thread into the rear derailleur. If not then my triangle has no threads for the thru sxel

The axle threads into the DR hanger that is attached to the stay. That way it is a replaceable item as opposed to having threads in the stay itself.

My S40 arrived today. I'm done with assembly, except for the seat cushion. In the video, you say that you get one shot at setting cushion - the velcro won't come off if you mess up its placement. So, if during fitting, I decide to move the seat extension and want to adjust the seat cushion accordingly, what do I do?

You can cut the velcro in a couple of pieces so it does not go over the seam of the seat extension Jeff. The velcro is super strong, so you don't need the whole big piece anyway.

What are the sizes of the front and rear tru axles.

Hi Gary, they are12 mm through axles. The rear is a standard 100mm. Our front through axle is about 180mm long from the underside of the head to the end.

Is it better to have the pedalling action in a more upright position or further away from you.

If you are asking if you can produce more power in a more upright position versus a more laidback position, I think that depends on what you are trained for. There is a sense of producing a lot of power when you can push against the seat when more upright, however, I seem to be able to produce lots of power even very laid back.

No changes to the frame (except colors). Slightly different components, see website for details.
