The "Tube Talkers" of Blue Man Group

A short documentary I made about an unusual job my friend and I had during college in 1995. We were paid to be on the other end of the tubes in the lobby and the tubes between the theater seats for Blue Man Group in New York City. We worked underground and our job was to start getting people excited for the show.

I was lucky enough to be “tube talked” in the Astor Place Lobby the first time I ever saw BMG back in 2004 When I was 13. Since then I’ve seen the show over 20 times through the years. I was so bummed when I returned to the Astor a few years ago, to see that the talking tubes were dismantled. End of an era. This was SUCH a good/unique idea that stuck with my all of these years later. This was so cool to see from behind the scenes so many years later. Thanks for the upload! So much nostalgia.
