    Known for colorful clothing and respect for nature, the Huayao Dai people are part of the Dai ethnic group, who mostly dwell in Gasa Township of Xinping Yi and Dai Autonomous County, southwest China's #Yunnan Province. The closed geographical environment of Xinping has made it possible for Huayao Dai people to retain their traditional customs, such as worshiping gods, tattooing, and tooth dyeing. They lived in a forest area governed by the ancient kingdom Dian (278-109 BC), which had its capital at what is now known as Kunming City. Join CGTN to meet the descendants of the former Dian Kingdom in Yunnan. #GoYunnan #GoChina
    About 'Go! Yunnan' series:
    Yunnan Province in southwest China features spectacular natural landscapes, biodiversity and diverse ethnic groups. Among China's 56 recognized ethnic groups, 25 are found in Yunnan. The "Go! Yunnan" series takes you on a tour to six cities or autonomous prefectures in the province for a glimpse of the area's food, scenery and folk customs. Stay tuned.

      Majority of the modern Ahoms are actually Morans, Chutiyas etc, who got absorbed into the Ahom kingdom & identity themselves as Ahom. Only 9000 Tai men and few women arrived in Assam, & majority of Ahom are not descendants of those 9000 men.
      DNA test of Ahom population proves that they have high HbE frequency, which is a trait of native mongoloid population of Assam. Whereas Tai population in the East Asian countries have almost no HbE frequency.
      And if you want proof then check the answer of Himprabal Singha on Quora, he replied to the question (Are Ahoms Assamese?) there he have showed the proof. There he have showed the Haplogroup frequency of the natives of Assam.

      That's a very naïve mindset.... though I don't condone it, if you follow the philosophy of human liberalism, you'll get surprised easily that that's not how how the world works. The Yi are a minority in China, just like any other minority in different provinces, and the only reason why they're minorities is because of the imperial nature of the Chinese political system. Historically superpowers always divided and conquered; it's sad, but that's how weaker groups of people in the world fell into the hands of the common enemy. (Colonialism).

    The ancestors of Manipur King Nongdalai Pakhangba of 33 A.D. left Dian Kingdom of Yunnan after the Han invasion in 2nd to 1st century B.C. Dian is the Tien Kingdom of Lai people. of Yunnan. They are famous for their Bronze culture. Our ancestor belong to Lai and Tien, and still we worship Lai-Tien. Nongdalai is NongTailai, a proto-Tai prince of ancient Yunnan. Yunnan is called Khage, a corrupted word for Kha-Khe, Kha for Leikha, the earth and Khe for Heaven, Heaven is also knwn as Kung and the Nation of Khe and KHa is recorded as Nong-Fu, or Khungfu nation of Heaven. The Tibeto-Burman tribes of Chakha, Man-ting Mora, and other cognate tribe reached Indochina region of the Khyiang (Chindwin or Namkham)and Yerang Yeyachao (Ayeyawaddy) Basin from 2nd BCE to 2nd A.D.

    Tai Ahom origin .......

    • @taiahomology
      @taiahomology Před rokem +1

      HbE means Haplogroup by the way.

    I truly hope deeply that China doesn't turn them into a tourist trap for the main Han to gawk and take selfies with. Really hope they respect their culture and not turn them into a sideshow like thai has with its ethnic clans

      @刘润平 if you are evil and backwards and messed up if you do it . China learned a hard tough lesson with covid 19. Image is very important in global affairs especially with the economy. So if you ask "why not" then you are not smart

      @刘润平 homey, you need to live outside your bubble. China is not just about Chinese in China. Even the politboro in China know that. An export economy at that too, so go ahead and abuse the ethnic clans and continue to be the butt of jokes and racism worldwide. Really, Asians in Asia schooling another Asian who's been in almost all parts of the world. Smarten up and widen your thinking homeboy

      Either by design or not, domestic tourism is greatly encouraged in China. Covid has discouraged outbound travelers and internal travel brings enormous economic benefit to the local masses. A great way to fight poverty.

    • @SexyUndisputed2All
      @SexyUndisputed2All Před 3 lety

      @@akouafray8616 I know that will happen eventually but I just want the utmost respect for these individual clans and not for them to become fodder for doofy tourists wanting to take Selfies and taking their pictures 24/7 like they're some alien race. China should be better than that considering they are going to implement a new 5 or 15 year plan for progress for everyone in China and the world's eye is staring hard at them due to covid (watch and listen carefully when rhe winter Olympics in China comes, a lot of racist language at China). Plus you know prostitution will come into this too, dangling money to make them "work" and make porn could very well happen like it does to other indigenous peoples
