I love Ruston. I have spent a lot of time with his most recent album, The Weakness. It came out about the same time that I was getting divorced. Today, I went back to some of his older work. I hadn't listened to this song in quite a while. This is a great performance.
The first verse is just perfection.
Perfect example of true talent! I've been lucky enough to have seen him live. Once in Asheville, NC. & once in Nashville, TN. Not that he isn't good in his own rite, but in Asheville Kasey Musgrave was with him. THAT show was unbelievable. If you've never seen him live, I suggest you do.

For my first time in my life, I fell in love with a song!
Congratulations!! That’s beautiful!
Sarah Jarosz brought me here. Thank you Sarah and Ruston. What a beautiful song.
Same
Me too !
Same. I’m taken with your dad’s pedal steel playing. Love it all!
Same for me, and I was glad I discovered this guy !
I’m a 38 year old grown man and this song makes me sob and I don’t know why
Dang, this is so good. They can really replicate the record live!
This song is underrated, it’s amazing
What a song
Why this song is so underrated.. Fuxk I love this song so much 🖤
Perfect, but I missed the harmonica a little
Same.
I missed it too!
Nothing better than the sound a psg
I love Kacey, and I'm glad she points to this man as her inspiration. You can hear it clearly. I'll be looking for more from Ruston.
Oooof this aged well
we saw him last fall in Seattle at the Tractor Tavern in Ballard, one of the best live shows we have been to. He is a genius singer. Needs a lot more exposure.....the masses must discover him...
Just discovering him now after seeing a Sarah Jarosz cover! Also, man do I miss the Tractor Tavern.. last act I caught there was Marty Wilson Piper and must have been like 2007.
why the hell this got only 500+ views? damn
Oh my god! Wow. Amazing music.
I wanted to miss the harmonica, but I loved the steelie just as much. Beautiful.
I second missing the harmonica. Amazing performance though. Would definitely see you live if you came to TO area... for a concert... remember those things?? I’ll never take them for granted again..
I listen on repeat… 😎 I’m addicted and even play it in the guitar
I want to play this on the guitar so bad.
I love this so much!!

It wasn’t much, just everything. 🥺
⚡️🖤⚡️
Even better than the record version. 👏👏👏
I’m sayin!
I can't agree with you YET I can this version, remake, cover is phenomenal 🎶🎵 especially they did it their own way. I do wonder if this version came first would I say the same about the original 😊
That base player gets down. Love this song
genius
Came across your cover of Taylor Swift's All Too Well - wow, beautiful vocals 💘
I never liked county music before I heard Ruston Kelly.
Zachary Goriszewski dirt emo
I was about to say the same 😉
Good on Rushton 😊
Can I have that guitar please
Sounds so much better without the damn harmonica!
Callowhill short scale bass??
0:35 what instrument is that?
Pretty sure that's his dad on the steel guitar
Does anyone know what tuning(s) Ruston uses?
It's standard with a capo on the 2nd fret.
Pretty sure it's capo 3 not 2
Whiskeytown tuning
Two years late, but it's in standard with a capo on 3.
The chords used are basically variations of Dsus, Cadd9, G, F, Am7 (the shape carries down the neck), and also an Em in the chorus.
Drumming
I missed the harmonica, but the song is beatiful anyway!
Dr. parks drumming would be funny
Well done, but I've heard it all before. It doesn't stand out to me, but what do I know. Just doesn't strike a chord with me.
All good bud, it's called your opinion. Everyone has the right to one.
Ur little brain is comparing it with all the the little segments of this type of music that uve heard before but never really appreciated n that's why u can't see the uniqueness of this song. U have no depth to urself n no love for the craft.
Wow! Why so angry? Do you make an ad hominem attack on everyone who doesn't share your opinion? I guess it's symptomatic of the times.
