  • Hi guys! Today's video is a really special and I don't know why I took so long to make it, as I love music and playing the guitar, so I thought of making a classic guitar as a first guitar tutorial, hope you like it.
    I know it doesn't have any strings, but planning to make that happen at another tutorial! X

    Hi Maive, I just thought I would mention it because you would be surprised at how many people don't think of using these items. I really believe in recycling so when I can I like to show others that you don't have to buy expensive cutters in order to make the items seen. This is what I loved about your video the use of the pen cap was great! I have also used old bottle caps, left over pen parts, and have even made my own out of cut up aluminum cans and the metal base of votive candles (but this can be dangerous if not wearing gloves). I have even made my own baking sheets out of aluminum siding (another case where gloves are needed). I just tell people to look around and before they throw something away can they use it as a tool? Also, instead of buying texture sheets use old fabric and lace items. You can also use sand paper for texture. Like I said, I encourage people to look around for things they can use as tools. Just make sure it's not some expensive item of moms that you are about to use.LOL Take care, Dee

    Hi Maive, I really love the guitar you made. I also make them out of clay. Did you ever think of adding thin wire or thread for the strings? Also, you mentioned cutting the circle in the guitar with part of a pen. The item I usually suggest people use to cut holes are drinking straws. They come in all kinds of sizes. You can get really tiny ones from coffee houses and really large ones are used for shakes or bubble tea. I even show people how to make their own cutters out of items that we usually throw away, like lids from different size jars. You can also buy metal cookie cutters and reshape them into the shape you want. I had to do that before for a project I was working on. I hope these ideas help you or your subscribers in some way. Take care, Dee

      @MaiveFerrando  Před 10 lety

      ***** I already have an idea on how to make strings, and it involves cotton, but I haven't tried it yet. I used the a small metal cap as a cutter as it was the perfect size and it wasn't intentional, but I did mention they could use what they have or a knife, that's what I would do if I didn't have anything. I've used and showed straws before so I'm sure they'll realize that is an option too. :)

    That is definitely a ukulele

    • @Sarah-yb7yv
      @Sarah-yb7yv Před 5 lety

      Why that? It depends on how many strings she would have put on it. A guitar has 5 and a ukulele has 4. If you put a Capo on the fifth fret of a guitar and then play using the four highest strings you're basically playing an ukulele eventho its a guitar. The only difference is that the G String on the guitar is an octave lower than on the uke

      Me too,i've played it since I was eleven. I'm learning ukulele now, can you make an ukulele?

    • @MaiveFerrando
      @MaiveFerrando  Před 9 lety

      That's nice :) I don't think I will be making an ukulele. The techniques are the same, you only need to adjust the number of tuning pegs, strings if you add them and the number of frets. The scale is personal. I might only do one to show a way to make the strings, but this is no promise. ;)
