Great work man! Thanks for all content your willing to share :)
I am a huge fan of your videos! Super helpful in preparing me to start taking on my first projects soon. Keep em coming!
Really appreciate it! Thank you for watching!
Great video man! Awesome shop setup i look forward to more of your content!
Thank you!
Your awesome, thanks !
Thank you so much!
Thank you!!
My little shop is a 12x12 and so I opted for a table based mounting stand. Lucky for me I am moving my little shop and I’ll have a different building to store my freezer. Managing space is one of my biggest challenges
My shop I originally built just to process my own deer. I would give anything to have a building designed the way I need it now.
@@thecedarridgechronicles You’ll get your dream set up at some point! Honestly I can’t wait to turn my current shop into freezer storage so I can get a bigger one. Time and money are pains in rear, but it’ll all turn out! And with awesome resources like you and Clear Creek Taxidermy it makes it all seem possible!
'sThis is a year old video I realize but I just found your channel. In the 1980's I bought a mail-order taxidermy course... probably VanDyke Taxidermy. I did a couple of birds, a muskrat and two deer mounts... one was mine and the other for a co-worker. I realized pretty quickly that to really get into it I needed more than a little starter set of tools. I quickly gave up. Its a much bigger job than anyone can imagine.
It really is. People think they can do 1 cheaper than paying it done, but if you’re only doing 1, it is extremely expensive lol
Looks like I see some giant Black Warrior deer in the background of this one. You love to see it. 🤙🏼
Absolutely! Some monsters!
@@thecedarridgechronicles for sure! Those guys have it figured out. Enjoy the content man! I’m looking at getting started one of these days and your channel is very helpful. Keep it coming!
Never used glue on any of my mounts. Worked out fine. But I'm sure it helps. Great vidio buddy. Fleshing machine is very handy after the pickle bath. Saves a lot of time. Enjoyed your vodio🙂
Good info! Could you do a video on cape measurement sometime?
Yessir will do!
Could u post a walk around of your fleshing beam with some dimensions maybe?
Will do!
New sub. Where are you located? Really enjoyed this and how you mount a deer head vid!!
Thanks! I'm just outside of Cullman Alabama
I found a raccoon skull yesterday, (sep. 26) & boy oh boy does this career/hobby stink. I'm going to resin my patients. I need more information as to the cleaning process and tools. Thanks ahead. ♡♥︎♡ Happy Halloween Season! 🎃

I would try this
What do you do with your pickle when you get down with it. Also what do you do with the water when your done with the cold water maceration.
The pickle can be neutralized and then poured outside or down a drain after it is no longer acidic. The water from the maceration I pour outside also, but you'll want it a long way from your house. Fortunately my shop is about 100 yards from my house, so the smell stays far away lol
QUESTION..Your videos are helpful to many for sure. But doing skull mounts in the shop has to stink. I see that bloody murky water with skulls setting in there and can't help to think about the odor. I do mine out side and buzzards fly over head on some days. Your shop must stink, if not why doesn't it?
I change my water out every 3 days the first month I soak them. After that, once a week. The water will get nasty looking, but after the first few weeks, the smell is almost completely gone. The more often you change the water, the less they smell, but also the longer it takes due to fewer bacteria.
What bit do you use in your dremel tool to cut out the nostrils, tear ducts, and mouth?!?!
I just added the links to both the Dremel tool and the bit in the description of this video. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
What type of mountain it rig do you have
It’s a stand from McKenzie taxidermy supply
Maybe you answered this already or done a video on it but how often or do you ever have to deal with the DNR or have any kind of license or permit to be a taxidermist with the state or government?
Not in Alabama unless you do migratory birds. You do have to have a business license however
Gotta have em in Tennessee, also 5 floor drains. Picky in my state🤔
🤜🏻🤛🏻
👍
I've been considering trying my hand at deer taxidermy because of my love for white tail hunting and my background in custom metal fab and custom upholstery / foam work. I've been told by taxidermist with my upholstery skills and eye for detail I could be good at taxidermy.
The more I watch your videos the more I want to dive into it. I have the 30'x40' space, most of the tools already and the drive to learn. Would you have any advice for me stating off or maybe specific video/s I should start with?
Thanks
