EAS Scenario | The Flood Part 2 | Emergency Alert System

  • Emergency Alert System (EAS) scenario. This is the first issued warning of the new Confederated Australian Territory Emergency System. At the following audio signal, all C.A.T citizens are required to stop what they are doing and follow the instructions given within. The warning will be issued immediately after the audio signal has been given, and those who fail to comply with the newly established Home Act Law (H.A.L) will be forcibly removed and escorted to Government Facilities for evaluation.
    If you enjoy this scenario don't forget to like and subscribe and hey why not even leave a comment! :)
    This is pure fiction just like in a movie. Do not follow any advice from the announcement.

    This one is more like it. EAS wasn't a great format for the scp entries it seemed. But this. This is really good. The fiction is great. It was very, very wise to make them separate EAS instances as well. Good job AW. I would push big on making more pure fiction creative scenarios because I strongly believe you could create entire lore bases on these and really get yourself on the map and taking a chunk for yourself with this path.

    • @mattjk5299
      @mattjk5299 Před 2 lety +16

      I think that the issue with the SCP approach is that even in the broken masquerade or even IRL. Governments tell people what they NEED to know, not all the info they have even if not super relevant.
      An SCP number is potentially confusing, as is any detail whatsoever that isn't about immediate survival and mitigation. Said number may not even be communicated from the foundation in lieu of simply instructions.

    • @saibisureddo5657
      @saibisureddo5657 Před 2 lety +6

      @@mattjk5299 exactly this. This isn't in that universe firstly because of lore differences. but even if it was the way its done here just doesn't fit into the eas format at all. There would be ways of going about it that would fit better. but its hard to get into those videos and some others here due to this dissonance. And it is a problem as quite a few other commenters are ponting this out as well. There are ways to scp script write for eas scenarios its just not being done well here.
      The channel has very obvious strengths in its visual style, ambience, and vocal style. it just needs a script writer who understands the eas format and how it can relate to things such as SCP lore is all.

      The idea certainly is cool and is definitely based on the Flood, but this Flood should not happen at all, if we're being annoyingly persistent in demanding historical accuracy.
      After the Flood, God gave his blessing to Noah and his family and a promise that He would never destroy the Earth with a global flood again (that's why rainbows exist). So while this situation is literally impossible, it's still an absolutely amazing end of the world scenario to think through, and the videos are incredibly well made.

One question, in the original the EAS told everyone with qualifications to move to New Zealand, as there were millions of new acres (hectares?) of land available, yet in this one everyone has to leave and go back to Australia? I don't mind it, just a little inconsistency. I really appreciate the work you are doing, and am hoping on a part 3. Keep up the good work!

    This is a great concept, and the animation and graphics are really top quality, the only thing I'd say is I often notice discrepancies in the tone, grammar and usage of the dialogue and text which break the suspension of disbelief for me quite a bit. First and foremost, EAS alerts are designed to impart information in a concise, consistent and calm manner. A lot of the details included in this and other videos of yours seem like information that realistically would not be shared with the general populace or even if known, are phrased in a way that would actually cause more panic. Getting this nailed would be great. Also, thinking a bit more carefully about phrasing; "lethal incarceration" is redundant. How can incarceration be lethal? If it's lethal, and you're just killing people, why incarcerate them?
    Other than my pedantic gripes, great video and great channel. Keep it up, I always really enjoy these videos.

    • @betula2137
      @betula2137 Před 2 lety +9

      Yes, I feel like some of the more overt authoritarian statements, like incarceration, in the case of whatever crisis this may be are just a little bit too unbelievable.
      And it seems a bit impractical that this is the form of continental governance which takes hold.
      But yes, interesting nonetheless as an Australian (luckily we have a better government now who don't refuse to give emergency assistance in the floods we had across the east coast like the last climate-denying one).

    • @MrCrunchman
      @MrCrunchman Před rokem +5

      I think the reason the alerts give way more detail than necessary is to help with the storytelling aspect. It simply wouldn't be as entertaining to watch if the alerts were always "There is an emergency. Please remain calm and follow these steps" or, "There is a war. Please report to your local military office to enlist".
      While I do agree that the writing itself needs some grammar corrections and general polishing to sound more "official", the story is what's important and definitely benefits from more detail.

    Keep doing those but I got to say this one is special. Not to say you didn’t have world building before with your other alerts, but this was *really* awesome how you presented it. You turned Australia from a country in crisis to a dystopian empire something that resembles Big Bother. Keeping an air of propaganda and mystery. Over time it feels like it’s harder trust the government and how keeps asserting it’s self as its the good of humanity and you are just a cog. Like I can’t help to wonder even, is New Zealand in anarchy or is it just dependent after not liking the new government? Where those ships raiders? Or were they people that got shunned from citizenship or had their families killed? The fact I’m thinking about it just shows how good it is.
    I mean again still do the smaller stuff I love that too, it’s just easier to type out a wall of text on this since I over-think. However do stuff like this once in a great while that takes advantage how your alert system presents information. Take care

    for those of you who are wondering, Australia is lower in elevation then the US and most country's, its highest point only being about 1000 meters above sea level and the avg being 200 meters, so Australia would be under water much sooner than almost any other country, the US avg elevation is 1000 meters above sea level with some of the highest points being 20,000 meters above sea level, so the US would be one of the last to be consumed in water/flood scenario hope I clear up any confusion if anyone had any.

    I’m a bit confused. It tells you to report to locations via radio or tv signal. How are these signals still up? Is it land or elevated buildings? Is it on a boat? How are the tv signals being sent out and received?

    • @TheShadowcreator
      @TheShadowcreator Před 2 lety +6

      TV used to be broadcast through radio signals, so if any of the towers are inland then they could be broadcast that way. However, TV is digital now, so if this happened in 2022 there would probably only be radio audio signals sent out, since many people would not have a TV that can catch analog signals.
      (I know this is the case in the USA, Australians can correct me if I'm wrong)
