Usyk turned the tide completely with that round and won the back end of the fight. While the scores were close, two judges gave it to Usyk while the third gave it to Fury making Oleksandr Usyk the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the 21st century, and the only one of the four belt era.
The rematch clause means that this fight will be rerun in October so there is always the chance that the story will have a different ending, but for now, Oleksandr Usyk is the king of all champions, the best in the world. A giant standing alone, astride of the entire sporting world. Undisputed.

Considering the size and reach advantage of fury, this would have been one of the greatest knockouts to ever happen in the history of the HW division.
Usyk earned it, had fury dead in the water unprotected and fury did not see the shot coming. The punch that was beyond a doubt stopping fury was about halfway there when the ref dove in to keep fury from getting knocked out . Had he left his bias at home and let Usyk thrown the last shots it would have been one of the most spectacular knockouts in decades. Perhaps one of the greatest moments ever in the history of the heavyweight division. That ref ruined what should have been the pinnacle of Usyks boxing career and perhaps one of the best examples of winning when your opponent has the advantage in weight,
Height , reach and the ref might as well been one of fury’s cornermen. To overcome the huge size difference, the blatant way the ref saved fury and even one of the judges on top of everything else. I am proud of Usyk, everything was stacked him and he still got the win.
However I can’t overlook the ref and his blatant interference. Any other ref and usyk would had one of the best underdog KO’s to ever happen.

I had Usyk winning 1-2, and fury winning 3-4-5 I could have honestly saw 6 going either way. I think they got the decision right, I think if you take away that 10/8 round we could talk about a close fight, a draw or fury edging Usyk out by a point. Just my opinion

@@JamieLeighMartin10 I'm the same myself but I don't think they watched the fight, probably just watched the highlights because the commentator actually tells you the rule when the ref stepped in for the standing count. Do you think the judges got it right? I had it a draw, I had Fury up 4-2 up the first half of the fight and I had Usyk 3-2 2nd half with round 11 as a draw round as I could give it to either fighter, I chose a draw. Rounds 7 and 11 for me were the hardest rounds to score, I gave 7 to Fury but the dynamics of the fight changed near the end of that round when Usyk splattered Fury's nose over his face with a stiff left, for me that was the punch Fury never fully recovered from as Usyk then went on a 3round demolition job.

Fury probably wouldn't have survived the 9th round but for the referee stepping in too early. The ref should only step in in that situation to end the fight, not to save one of the fighters.
Or if the rope is the only thing holding the fighter up. It was a knockdown but rope kept him on his feet. If the ref follows the rules he has to count that as a knockdown, which he did.
