  • We rented a mini excavator for an entire week to start clearing land and opening up our property to build our dream shop, now that our permit is approved! If you didn't see the last video where you can see where we started you can watch it here:
    Dylan is definitely living his best life operating this machine, so pray for our wallet because I can see us owning one of these in the future 😂

    You know, tree companies exist just for this purpose. They’ll do it for you! Publix exists for you to get good produce too! But… this is what homesteading is all about. Being self sufficient and learning new things at the same time. Take down your own trees, save the wood, they become a project soon! Grow your own food! I love the direction you guys are going. Happy Anniversary, you guys!

    👍👍👍👍👍 as far as that really big stump goes if you couldn’t of got it out of the hole, you could’ve used that hole as a burn pit and just burned it up and then after it was all burnt up, you just pushed the dirt back over it lol can’t wait for the next video.

    • @Woodbrew

    So in America you can cut down trees of a forest as much as you want if they are on your land? In my European country, you can't just cut down trees on a whole area, you need to get a permit for each tree you want to cut down (if part of a forest, if you plant a tree yourself, you can cut it down if you want).

    • @Woodbrew
      @Woodbrew  Před 26 dny +2

      In Europe you have trees that are likely hundreds of years old that are well protected for a variety of reasons. We live in an area with significant managed forests that have been modified to have harvest cycles in a little as 20 years. It’s a massive Industry here and trust me when I say these pine trees will not be missed. Not to mention that we are milling all the trees into lumber so there is minimal waste.

    • @Bill_N_ATX
      @Bill_N_ATX Před 26 dny +1

      It depends on where you are located. In the rural areas, yes, you can usually cut down any tree. I live in much more developed area and you must replant a tree elsewhere for every tree you remove. If the tree is one of 7 different species, you need a permit to take them down. If it is over a certain size, it will be declared a “heritage” tree and the city will assign it a number and track that tree. You will not be able to remove that tree and will need to build around it or pay a small fortune to move it.
      But this much more the exception than the rule. Usually the law is that it’s your property, do as you please.

  • @gingerrob7328
    @gingerrob7328 Před 26 dny

    Why aren’t you felling the trees and removing the stumps afterwards.

    • @Woodbrew

      They become a million times harder to remove without the leverage of the entire tree.
