I wish i could tell you the pain gets better in time but i still feel the gaping hole that was my love but it gets easier to handle as time goes on. I hope you have some good support and i wish you only the best. From 1 widow to another, take care of yourself, make sure to eat and drink often even if you dont feel the need to, rest, reach out if it gets too much and lean on those that are willing. I am so sorry you have joined this awful club.

I'm 57 and I LOVE Nickelback! My kids were teens during the years where Nickelback was new and I got to learn my kids music. Listening to Nickelback makes me remember my teenage kids on top of that, the band has so many outstanding songs. People who hate them follow a shitty trend & probably have NO idea why they "hate" them. They more than likely DO like them, and jam to them in private and "hate" them just to be a part of a trend.

Since not going to college I've moved away to the mountains crossed the continent 4 times, learned and love to snowboard, bicycled across 4 countries traveld to like 14, bought and lived on a sail boat, learned to sail, worked 23 + different jobs... loading airplanes, making wine, dilivering in the mountains, world equestrian championship, driving snow cats, met so many fucking good people, lived in tents, hostels, back packs, beaches, cars, big citys, country towns, shared homes, slept on side walks and cliff edges. Lemme tell you it hasn't been easy but its been a life worth living much better then the year in the factory I worked back when I had nothing but my bicycle and a shitty appartement with my mom. This fucken song wrote the script to the life I chose. I listened to it on repeat all the time before fucking off and doing something. Taking my life in my own hands. Ignoring nay sayers and non-supportive peopl, to my benefit and demise. Rolled with the punches and if I wasn't dying had food and a good night sleep I was happy enough, even through missery there are laughs. Rant over I love this fucken song!

True. Although i will say as a Nickelback fan that the “Dark Horse” was a little over saturated with sex songs, one is alright, two is ok. Four? IDK i just feel like those could have been about something else. Don’t get the wrong idea. The songs themselves aren’t bad (hell i really enjoyed “next go round” and “Shakin’ hands”) i just believe that their spots could have been used by songs with other types of flow. Maybe another hard rock or ballad would not have hurt so much.
But hey, Dark Horse did give us “Burn it to the ground” and “Just to get high” so i still liked the album for the most part

I was in the hospital for 2 weeks after and for 2 months before it i was getting transfusions nearly daily. I feel you brother, best of luck man. 3 years and I still haven't forgotten the feeling.

In October of 2011 my father died. I accepted it as he had been ill for quite a while. I went off the deep end and allowed meth to imprison me. Less than 60 days later I got slammed again. I had only heard one or two songs by Nickelback until December 11th and I played "If Today Was Your Last Day". I know listened to it least a dozen times and said aloud "Little sister, I hope you're right with God". At 2:42 my phone rang and a doctor told me that my little sister was not going to make it thru surgery. Of course I was devastated. Then I realized that the song was playing on my computer. And something told me (God) that Cheree was fine. She did live each day as if it were her last. We played the song at her funeral. Now I listen to ALL of Nickelback's songs. Truthfully, their awesome heart filled music greatly helped me thru the worst time in my life.

Never undestanded why so many ppl hate this Band? Okay some songs sounds quite the same, but they are also not bad so whats the problem. Atleast they often have a meaning!

For those saying Nickelback is trash, I accomplished my dream of moving to Canada from Brazil thanks to this band. It also helped me a lot overcoming relationship struggles throughout the decades. Meaningful songs, life saving.

Losing a child is the most heartbreaking thing that can happen to a parent. I lost my beloved daughter almost 6 years ago. I loved her and can never "get over it". She was imperfect, as we all are, but a genuinely caring and sweet person. I pray she's somehow in a better place and I'll see her again. None of us knows. Be kind and forgiving to those in your life, Nothing is gained by resentment. Estrangement from family and friends is hateful and a huge waste of time and energy, It makes everyone miserable - and for what?

I love the song and the meaning behind it. I had lost my father in the 90's, and I wish I could have gotten the chance to tell him I loved him before he passed. My last words to him that I Still regret to this day were "I hate you". Not realizing that that would be the final time I would get to talk to him. Now I make sure to tell those I love that I love them.
Like the song says, what If today was your last day? What would you say to those you love? Would you do anything differently before you're gone? Make your last days on this earth count and tell those you love, "I love you". I love the honesty in their songs. You can feel it when they sing. I will always be a NB fan.

Whoever doesn't like Nickelback doesn't have a sense of good music, like really? I use to listen to song ALL the time, my dad loved Nickelback so I listened to their songs a lot. I love Nickelback, i actually haven't been listening to it until now, it's a great childhood memory for me and a memory of my dad who I lost last year (the reason I haven't listened to them for a while). Nickelback has meaning in their songs, this song "If Today Was Your Last Day" for instance, and "When We Stand Together" is another song I love. Why so much hate? Nickelback has way better songs than some popstars today, with most (by most, I mean majority) of those songs today having inappropriate meaning.. you call that "good" songs?
