Bellamy Brothers ~ Let Your Love Flow 1976 Disco Purrfection Version

- David Bellamy arrived on the music scene in early 1974 when Jim Stafford took his song "Spiders & Snakes" to #3 on the Hot100. Stafford's manager, Phil Gernhard, took an interest in Bellamy and had him record lead vocals on a Larry Williams composition called "Let Your Love Flow". The result was less than satisfying so the song was shelved.
Stafford then went to Florida to tape a TV special and trying to beat a threatening storm that was on the way, Gernherd had the roadies perform a sound check before Stafford arrived to save time. Gernhard was discussing the set up with Tony Scotti when he became aware of a roadie singing the sound check. He realized he had found the voice that could carry "Let Your Love Flow" and was surprised to find that it was Larry Bellamy, David's brother and it was Gernhard who had hired Larry as a roadie in the first place.
Once the tour was completed, Gernhard took Larry & David into the studio and re-recorded "Let Your Love Flow" and on the final day of production, he found out that ABC Dunhill was getting ready to release a cover of the same song. Warner rushed out the release on January 31, 1976 and it hit #1 on May 1, 1976.
Bolstered by a #1 hit song but rampant mismanagement nearly broke them. The brothers regrouped focusing on recording country music with hit songs like 'If I Said You A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me)" and made a successful career for themselves to this very day. - Hudba
Takes me back when life wasn’t so complicated ♥️.
...and no one gets offended easily!
I hear ya! I hope you are safe and well! Listen to music and love!
Life has always been complicated, especially for us farmworkers.
Amen
Of course life was less complicated to you back then. You were a child. Things in the world were pretty bad in the 70s. You just didn't know about it because you were a child.
I still feel like a 66 yr old hippie.
Nothing will ever beat the music of the 60's and 70's, such talented artists back then, and some are still with us in 2023, bless them all.
I'm black woman, and I love soft rock, ever since I was little girl, I would listen all day.
heard this on my mom's car radio all the time!!❤
💯👏👏👏💚💚💚💚💚
Ok, so I'm a white guy, I dig Lady Smith Black Mamboso, African tribal, so what's your point, ???
Just wanted to express my type of music I like. In the 60's through the years I still like soft rock. I have to get that song on my phone 🤳

It was 1976....being a 15 year old guy listening to Howard and David...loving this beautiful tune...it is 2023...being a 62 year old fart listening to Howard and David - AND STILL LOVIN' IT 👍👍👍👍👍
WHEN LIFE WAS FILLED WITH BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE AND SO MUCH FUN ❤️
The '70's was such a great time to have grown up as a kid.
Life was so simple.
Ya'll know what I'm talkin about.
Peace to you all ✌
Certainly was. This song reminds me of the hot summer in 76. Mum was alive, it was an awesome time 😌😌
i know exactly what you mean, if i could only turn the clock back...
...and the 80's was a great time to be in high school (Cool music & no school shootings) + the 90's was a great time to come of age. I love being Gen X!
@@ericolav Yes...Generation X! When I was in school the doors were unlocked. The only fear you had was the school yard bully (and the teacher if your homework wasn't turned in).
@@ericolav Yeah, GEN X rules. Spirit of '76. :)
grew up in the 1960s and 1970s, no music ever can match those years!
no years will ever replace 70-80s , they were the years to grow and live in this world
Better days are ahead if we learn from the past
I agree
the 70s 80s are the best years of my life left my beutiful island of Samoa for NZ around that time when I was 13 year old now 2021 3 months ago I turned 60th my grandchildren keep knocking on my bed room door and yelling Nana can you please turned your music down I called out this is what you called music not that rubbish you put on thank you haha GB everyone from this Samoan lady still crazy over the old school music from NZ TALOFA and GB Samoa.

Great old days ❤
In 1976 I was 16. The Vietnam war was in our rearview mirror & an uncertain America was in the forecast. I'm 62 now and everyday for me is a reason to let my love grow..for my lord, my family & my health.
Is anybody still 🎧 listening to the Bellamy Brothers in 2021????count me in on this one...Great Sound🙂
How about 2024 and also had some awesome ABBA. Let you your shine!
This song fills my heart with joy everytime I hear it I AM a black man I was stationed in Great Falls, MT in 1976 and this song really resonated with me still does people are people wherever you go so let your love flow
Amen brother. Peace and love
I seem to be missing the reason for someone having to put what ethnicity they are when it comes to enjoying good music? Anyway, I enjoy all pretty much all genres of music, and am a musician myself. Anyway, I'm sure it was well intended for some reason, but I'm probably just really old and missed the point. Anyway, I never really put which ethnic minority I am, ever. That was it doesn't matter on here, and we're truly all the same, right? Anyway, good day then. Love to all. God bless you
Thank you for your service!! Happy Memorial Day!
Amen brother!! God bless!
That s right
I am a 72 year old woman and still love this song!
Iam 61 ,don't remember what I was doing back than ,but can't never for get the good old days

I can go back in time without leaving my home.. when you get old, all you have are memories! Music says it all...
Rightio
. . . . . .memories , and wisdom, and character, and experience, and the music that refreshes your sentiments. Dont sell yourself short . Old is an attitude. . . .not a curse.
That's right, darling, 🥰❤💋
Good idea.
ITS A HEALER
Before, everything was different, the sun shone brighter and the sky was bluer, the songs were so colorful and graceful, and people were kinder and more sensitive and loving. I remember that magical time and it was the best time in our life.
I agree with everything you said💕💞❣️❣️
Peace, brother.
so true
Yes , I remember those times. Well ,
People are meant to be connected but social media and mobile phones have ironically destroyed that special connection. A bit of a delay for reflection - a letter, a landline call, was a much gentler way of communicating. No instant gratification.
Who doesn't start taping their feet the second it starts? I could listen to this on a loop for hours. It's such a great song!
Ich habe mich auch gerade dabei ertappt...! 😉

Are we good for conversation and appearance good music?xx

I accidentally found this song and I love it so much. I’m not tired of listening to it for so many times repeatedly everyday. I wish I heard this song long time ago. I was born in 76 but I remember this song with so much love and joy in my heart because I remember cleaning the house with my two sisters and my mom. My mom always had the radio on and she knew every song and now so do I but This SONG, this song made us all JOYOUSLY dance around the house with our dusters and brooms and mops and sing out at the top of our lungs JUST LET YOUR LOVE FLOW. I am so grateful to finally hear it again after so many years and to Know so many people out there love it as much as I do!
It is a very high vibrational song that is accessible to all

Yes, oh yes, BACK THEN BACK WHEN music was loved and lyrics were profound.
Very beautiful music in the years 70
I heard this song on the greenlandic radio when I was a little girl at home by my parents and siblings. It was in the late 1970's. It brings me "back home" whereever I am living.
I live in Denmark now. With the curtains drawn I can dream back to my childhood and enjoy and listen to this timeless and beautiful song. It's lyrichs are full of beautiful message about love. It makes me in a good mood everytime I listen to it and makes me want to dance. I JUST LOVE IT and will listen to it untill the day I die. One of the most beautiful songs made ever! ❤️🥰💃🥀🇬🇱

These kind of songs are not heard by accent. I remember a lady told her experience of visiting heaven, during a near death experience, and she was told that certain songs are revealed to people on earth, 🌎 and had the great privilege of seeing a wall to wall library of songs, belong to the Kingdom of God.

@Daniel Hulett yesss, I loved the 80s.
@Daniel Hulett There was great music in every decade, although not so great nowadays, but I agree, the eighties had way way more than its fair share of great music !!
@Leely Moonstar Yes. I was also gonna say that. There was nothing wrong with the music of the 60's either. Then the 70's came and put the icing on the musical cake.
