can't believe I've been watching these ladies 5 years by now (before Covid). Very hypnotic combination of music and style.
Great angle. I love watching Nicole play and learn a lot from her, but you can see the whole band as well, especially their fantastic drummer, Annie. Keke has an effortless style. Shermy's right hand picking is machine gun fast when needed, and that's not easy to do. saw them live and got to meet them on this last tour. Very sweet, warm and generous with their time.
Second tune: nice work on the hi-hats opening measures. Spot on with the breaks and accents too. Always fun listening to this band.

Hmmmm. I don't know what's more intriguing here, the fact that not a single song in the set had vocals or that a group of 4 girls is single-handedly keeping a genre alive that hasn't charted a hit in about 6 decades. They certainly have mastered this music and then some, right down to the tone. The question is, is this all there is? How cool would it be if they changed genre's every couple of years and become the next big psychedelic free form or Prog supergroup! Well, one day at time. For now, this is their thing. Next stop...vocals ladies!
The music without vocals is great.
Vocals are overrated and unnecessary.
The Ventures filled stadiums in Japan and were superstars all the way until they died.

@@clayton56tube Lol , One of my favorite styles , with the oldies as well. That "surf" lifestyle and tunes was a huge influence on music. Love Jr Brown playing it , he is a treasure to.
They sure know how to play. I wanted to see them live but now I’ve seen this vid I don’t know. There’s almost no communication. When a song is finished they turn their back to the public. Are they enjoying playing live?

Sometimes Sarah isn't available as she has to work, which is what I was told when I also asked.
I haven't heard any explanation to her whereabouts but the girl playing bass is actually very good. I think this version of the band sounds great.
Sarah sometimes has commitments that prevent her from traveling.

Only for that tour. Yesterday on their social media, a new photograph of Sarah Butler appeared taken at The Woodshed in Toronto where they record. Hi Tide have stated that there will be important news next week.

All told there's been 8 bass players but since 2016 only Sarah Butler has appeared on their promotional material and recorded with them including on the forthcoming album.

No singing. They're a strictly an instrumental band not unlike the surf bands of the 60's such as The Ventures, Surfaris, etc.
Three of them were singing backing vocals with The Blue Rodeos on Saturday night.
