Today we're making a delicious lemon caper pasta with the best seasoned breadcrumbs. This dish is similar to aglio e olio but made even better with briny capers and lemon garlic breadcrumbs. It's a vegetarian dish too. I know many of you have been asking for more of them. Enjoy!

This really is a dish that I think you should be able to make with what you have. I recommend always having a big jar of capers on hand along with lemons. And everyone has some old bread, right? As always the print recipe along with process shots is linked above. Thanks for watching my videos!
Dude, I'm SOO happy you're finally getting the views and recognition you deserve. I knew it was going to happen, it was only a matter of time. Keep em' coming!
I like the new background music. Don't get me wrong, I like the old one too, but it's a nice change of pace...
My girlfriend hates capers. What do I do?
@@oatfarmer6501 try chopped up green olives.
We only watch for the taste tester, he cracks us up. (don't tell him, he is so cute unscripted). Fellow Long Islander (East Northport, HS in Commack), your accent sounds like home to me! Love your videos, keep on keeping on.
my man, i can not tell you how much this channel has helped my relationship. especially over this pandemic, i had become complacent. i no longer helped in the kitchen but you inspired me and taught me things which look basic but are not ( at least to me) . i now cook at lest 4 days out of the week. for my partner. most is from you channel. thank you sir and also i cant believe i have never had cherry peppers before. which is a call back to several of your other videos. thanks man i have learned so much big fan!!
Very inspiring comment, thank you for sharing!
One of the coolest self improvement statements ever! It's so amazing u heard, u learned & u changed - congrats!! 💥🤗
Significant other* Don't reduce relationships to a job by referring to the person you supposedly love by the same title as someone you own a business with. It's pretentious and reeks of insecurity. You shouldn't need to label your loved one as a "partner" to know you're equal. I'm sorry, I just hate seeing love being equated to a job. It's too dang sacred for that.
@@englishatheartI’m not sure if this is a cultural thing where you’re from, but “partner” is a very common way to refer to someone you’re in a relationship with in lots of places. It doesn’t come across as insecure whenever I hear this, and lots of people prefer it as a gender neutral alternative to “girlfriend” etc. that’s a lot simpler than “significant other”.
OP just shared a story of maintaining commitment to their relationship. Putting in the effort and cooking four days a week is a big thing for a lot of people. I’m sure they understand the value of their relationship if they’re willing to do that, they don’t need to be micromanaged
@@Hou413Poor excuse. You’re either dating a man or a woman. Pure and simple
I am so proud of the number of subscribers, been with you since way back. Over the years you have put so many smiles on my daughters faces and elevated me to super dad.
Pre Covid I traveled outside the US for work ~40% for nearly 20yrs. After the shutdown I decided being home I’m going take over the cooking. Your channel gave me the confidence after the first few months of complete failures, lol. Some channels show recipes that are so complicated for us amateurs. This channel offers “simple” but amazing meals!! Also since moving to MN from CT, finally real Italian food, lol.
Thank you sir, amazing accomplishment!! And I’m sure my story is one of very many, so many smiles you have helped come to life!!
God Bless!
That's awesome! Really appreciate the kind words.
Your son, very polite and serious about this. You raising him well. And you cook yummy😅🤩
what i really like about your videos is that you show the prep/mise-en-place at the beginning! it's how people cook! it's so frustrating watching other videos and watching them show up with bowls of ingredients throughout the video and have to piece together after multiple views what i would need to prepare before starting. thank you!
Great recipe!
The 'M' word is 'mantecatura' which is to do with making something 'buttery' or creamy by flipping the pan etc
Wow, thanks for adding that - I'll go on record that I had no clue! What a culinary vocabulary u have + 100% impressed!
Not scripted is why I love it. I feel like I’m at your place and you’re showing me how you make this.
I love the fact that you dont script. It feels like someone is sitting with me personally and teaching me how to cook. I havent made many of your recipes, but the few i have were delicious, but the skills and little things to know about cooking and the way you explain have been super helpful to me. thank you for the wonderful content!
Agreed also scripting videos makes it impossible to learn from them.
I found your channel recently and have been slowly working my way through all your videos! You are such a natural teacher and your recipes are so accessible. Thank you for inspiring me to cook more often :~)
Thank you very much! Welcome to the channel.
You took the words out in my mouth
I concur!
Same! I found your channel a month or so ago. The food is so nostalgic and relaxing to watch.
Yea, this is easily one of the best channels on CZcams.
I can't say enough how much I love your relationship with James, your expert taste tester. 😊 It's the sweetest thing.
Also, that simple pasta dish looks delicious! Capers are the best.
JAMES is the real star of this channel...such an awesome young man!
Parent/teen relationship goals right here😊
Love that little boy…He really lit up while tasting this…a true testimony!
We need a collab with Brian Lagerstrom for the ultimate "that much" vs. "7grams" of salt showdown.
yes! You put in about that much... and that's about.. that much. @dead
I noticed today how much taller James is getting from when we first saw him. Best taste tester ever! It's easy to trust James' rating because he is so willing to try anything! Not a picky eater, so you can trust what he says about what he tastes. So when he gives a 10, you can be sure it's a winner!! Super!!!
I recall a while back James didn't like giving a full 10
I saw an old video I think just 1 1/2 years ago and I was like WOW! Boys grow and when they do it is like BAM!
I love how excited you get when your family eats and enjoys your cooking.
Mrs. Sip and Feast and your kiddles are the luckiest people in the world. You are such a treasure! I have gotta try this recipe too!!! Wonderful!!!
Really love your way to talk about the fire level. So much easier to understand! Thanks!
And taste tester, really honest! 🤣
Watching your videos feels like hanging out with an uncle who is teaching you how to cook. Just so chill and familiar. Really love the anecdotes in between, and of course the best taste tester in the world. Thank you so much for your videos, your recipes are inspiring and make me want to jump into the kitchen to try them right this moment!
I said the same thing in another post. You feel like you are with family. :)
I really appreciate that feedback - thank you.
Yeah, yeah, excellent cooking 😄 What impresses me most is the great father-son relationship, and how much the father values his son's opinion. Watching 'Mr. Sip and Feast' (sorry, I do not know his first name) anticipating his son's impressions on his dishes is priceless. Nice job guys!
I just found your channel and I've been obsessed with your videos! Keep up the great work!
I totally like your regular-guy-loves-to- cook vibe and your interaction with your son. Watching you from Pardes Hanna, Israel.
I don't know if your channel was recommended today because I watch Brian, but I'm glad it was. Your pasta with sun dried tomatoes and spinach reminds me of a dish I used to get at Mumbles on the East Side back in the 90s.
You're fun to watch, in touch, not cocky, Keep up the good work!
I make this for lunch a lot 😂 but I add marinated artichokes diced up. Yummy!
I CANT wait to pre-order your cookbook 🎉
We are starting soon.
Any info on his cookbook?
What is this cook’s name?
@@SipandFeast Please include the Official Taste Testers comments & scores - he's such a cool kid! Can't wait to buy it! I'm guessing NYT Best Sellers List in record time!
A cookbook??? Sign me up!!!🤗 Love all of your recipes and my family enjoys them!!
This is one of my favourite CZcams channels. It's like he cook's like my grandmother did. Now I'm hungry! Thank's!
I do this often but I add anchovies and broccolini (if I have it) or frozen broccoli (if I don't). It is DELICIOUS.
Love that you watch Bri - you two are the only chefs I watch!
Want! Love these simple recipes and indeed I do have the ingredients hanging around to give it a shot! I really appreciate that you're showing folks these fantastic homestyle dishes that remind me of what nonni and papa used to make when I was a kid!
As usual, an excellent recipe with a few basic cooking principles thrown in for good measure.
You're a very good teacher.
Oh, and please never script. Thank you.
I love the vibe with the little man! Taste tester for the win- great recipe.
I just love his taste tester!! Very insightful comments! And he is learning to love to cook good food!
Wonderful real Italian home cooking with a GREAT FAMILY, all REAL all the TIME. Thanks
the breadcrumbs are such a genius addition. will be making this sooner rather than later. thanks for posting.
Love the food and love the relationship with your son. 🥰
Nice .. I love these types of dishes especially in the summer. Glad to see your channel blowing up. Good stuff
"On a Whim" Absolutely everything I do in the kitchen. (After watching numerous Sip and Feast videos, of course).
That olive oil is really one of the best. I recognize it. So versatile and delicious.
My boyfriend made this for dinner tonight after we watched this video a few weeks ago. Delicious!! This is easily my favorite cooking channel on youtube. 👍🏻👍🏻
I do something similar, but I chop up some anchovies instead of the capers. It’s so good!
It's great with the anchovies. My wife said this had a very similar taste.
This IS Cooking "it ain't exactly Rocket Appliance"
the main reason I love watching your videos is the honesty, I know the techniques, the processes of cooking , I do follow many culinary channels, I also make the "I forgot to add that ingredient when I should have" mistake, "mistake", but you have a refreshing take on cooking , cheers matey, I may have my next meal idea inspiration done, also , you have the best ingredient measurements in the internets , :) cheers again
It’s obvious to me… you know, and love cooking. The two ingredients requisite to fine food… I ran across this video and I’m glad I did… thanks. And soon enough, your son will be making you dinner! Bravo!
Great food critic/taste tester. Kids do not have bland simple palates, they’ll love and embrace good cooking as soon as introduced. My kids are now adults in their 20s, they have such a varied diet from most of their friends, It stems from travel, any available cooking show and favorite holiday meals. Thank goodness they both love to cook.
I love how simple and quickly this dish comes together. James's rating of ten is the icing on the cake. Thanks for sharing.
That looks so delicious! My mouth is crying for it now! Thank you for you awesome recipes and great videos! I’ll be making this one.
Watching your videos are an absolute delight. Takes me back to my childhood, cooking with my mother. 🇮🇹🍝👍
10/10 woo!!!!! What a blessing to be alive during this era. You can hop on CZcams and become a better version of yourself in a few months. This wasn't possible a few years ago. Thank you!!!!!! Building better people begins in the kitchen.
I LOVE your videos. I am new to Italian cooking and your videos give me confidence! I also love your authenticity and your relationship with your kids is so cute.
I use so many of these recipes. They're fantastic
I absolutely love how you make cooking so accessible. I also enjoy watching you interact with your son. He seems like a nice young man.
You are an amazing Cook and fun to watch ....also an amazing Father
Thanks for making cooking seem comfortable! I use your techniques quite a bit.
I'm a fan and have made several of your dishes, but this one is a win with my kids and wife EVERY TIME!
“Chef” is awesome for the reality of its cooking scenes.
The best Italian dishes always seem to be the simplest ones. Great ingredients equal tasty results. Those crumbs look amazing! Thanks for another great one. 😋
Agree 100% - those crumbs look fabulous for all kinds of recipes!
Simple and good, going to try this week!
Never made a pasta dish like this and I need a new pasta dish so I think I might actually do this tonight! Looks delicious and so fresh 👌
I hope you enjoy it!
I'll be hungry all day after watching this! Love this recipe and can't wait to make it.
I love it when one of my favorite CZcams chefs references another of my favorite CZcams chefs. And I am totally making this my next day off. It looks amazing.
One of my favorite things to make on the cheap is like a Cajun chicken and sausage Alfredo. I’ll get a couple of dollar boxes of Alfredo noodles, a bag of frozen veggies (onion, peepers, and celery), a pound of chicken thighs, and a pound of ground Italian sausage. Cook the chicken separately, and season it with Cajun/Creole seasoning. While doing that, in a separate pan, fry up the sausage and veggies. Then when it’s cooked thoroughly, drain the grease and add the water/milk per the Alfredo boxes instructions, and add the chicken to the mix. It’s pretty great stuff.
That looks so good!! Every time I watch your videos, I'm hungry!! LOL Thank you!
Love any episode that the cute mini grater makes an appearance. Lol
But really, lovey pasta recipe. Thank you!! Xx
Another great video. It’s fun to watch how your presentation has progressed. The video angles. The background music (you make comfort food and the music is comforting). And James…how many viewers wait to the end just to see his reaction? It won’t last forever but enjoy it as long as you can. Thanks!
U are so right! Never thought if those insights + guess that's why I got sucked into watching all of them too! What a keen eye for detail!
Thank you for your videos. I've always been good with pastas and Italian foods. In my house, pasta night dinner is my responsibility because my wife and kids like what i make. But your videos as well as others have really helped me take my pasta night game up a few levels
My 5 year old goes nuts for garlic chopped that way. Also I can't get enough of how easy to follow your recipes are (wish my kid would get into capers though, he hates peas and capers both) .
This recipe turned out great for me and my wife. Definitely going to try it again with less substitution ingredients
Oh I have so much parsley in my garden right now, this is a great way to use it. Going to make this for my caper-loving husband.
Your precise measurements and high tech gadgets (ie-garlic grater) are some of the reasons why I love your channel! Seriously though, your comments about only we can determine what tastes good to us is exactly right. Gotta have confidence in your own cooking and your food will become divine.
Wow....I have to try this pasta...I am actually drooling over this dish. Love your videos.
Will definitely make this - looks fab! You and your son have a beautiful relationship! ♥️
I am sitting here, I haven't eaten today as one of my kids is in the hospital, so I haven't had time to eat, and your video popped up! Easy, quick and just right, light, but filling, and so much flavour, thanks, you showed up just at the right time!
So how's the kid?
@@drfranklippenheimer8743
She just got out of the hosoital on Friday the 14,
Thanks for asking!
You have really removed the mystique of cooking. I’ve made many of your dishes. You have given me so much confidence. I always watch whatever you put up on your site. Thanks. And I love your family. They are the real deal, as are you!
Love your channel. It’s real and thorough
Howdy Jim!!! I always have to chuckle when you talk about people trolling you about how you create your masterpieces. The probably don't know how to boil toast! LOL Your recipes are always fabulous & your family love them! Trolls are the scourge of all CZcamsrs. Pay no attention to the a-holes behind the screen! Just keep pumping out the magical meals that you're doing!!!! Thanks for always making me hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the kind words.
You and your son are adorable. Great parenting 😀
I’m totally obsessed with this channel.
I’ve tried a couple of the recipes already and they are spot on awesome
Lemon Garlic and Capers. You never disappoint!! Thanks for another great one!
LOVE this Recipe 💕 Especially The Bread Crumb and the Garlic trick. Making this Tonight! Thank You!!! ♡♡♡
I love watching your videos, it's like watching the old school cooking shows back in the day xD (Emeril, Mario, etc)
Love your channel! You and James are great!!
so great to see you doing so well, really enjoy watching your videos man. edit: and glad you kept this music, love it.
You don’t need to script! You’re a natural!
I love this channel so much
It’s a gem for sure

@@SipandFeast thank *you*
I have to try cooking with the pasta water, love fresh parsley and lemon ! Your little taste tester is so cute !
It has been a wonderful journey trying out your recipes and feeding my family with it. I probably make those butter, onions, and tomatoes pasta every week. simple dishes like yours with quality ingredients always comes through for us. Thank you Jim. Looking forward to hearing more about your life and culinary inspirations.
Garlic and butter sauce pasta has always been a simple easy go to dish. For whatever reason tho never thought to add capers. Will do that next time! Thanks for the vid stud! 👍🏼
Another killer recipe! My compliments to the Internet's most likable chef/cook!
I love your interaction with your son , James. you are an amazing Dad and a great Chef , Love your food , thank you
I agree, that respect he show son James is going go thru his adult life & save him from wild rebellion! Such a great role model!
I absolutely love you bringing your kids out for the taste testing. Italians are VERY family focused and so am I. As an Italian American, I say keep going with these. I Love It!! Amen my brother!!!!!
I could smell it every step of the way. I'll be trying this one soon. I'm new to your channel. That is one nice young man, James. So impressed with his manners. Let him know I subscribed just because of him. 😉
haha thank you! I will tell him!
Highest temps ever here in the uk right now, so ive just been picking at cold stuff for days, I have some really good italian bread, olives, salami & salad tonight, so tomorrow i'm going to try this recipe, regardless of the heat, with my left over bread...lemon & capers are 2 of my favourite ingredients, and this looks so simple and tasty I can see it becoming a favourite instantly! Great video as always! Thank you!
Well, I tried it...absolutely delicious! Whizzed up a load of breadcrumbs & froze them too, so i'll have some at hand to toast next time I make this ...which will be very soon!! Great recipe!
Those pull-ups sneakily helped with the pan flipping! I really admire that you can do that - I have a weakness in my hands/wrists due to some medical issues, so gripping is so difficult to me - this video kind or reminded me of how hard it is to take a big heavy and full pan and try to flip the food in it. Thanks for making it look effortless (and for working hard!). Another great video!
haha thank you! They've definitely gotten harder to do over the years!
The music! I love music and good food. They both go together hand in hand.
Simple and looks delicious. The breadcrumb technique is something I will now use often. thank you so much!
Your approach to cooking featured recipes is honest and relatable. Great job.
What a sweet guy and a good dad.
This is the first of your videos I have seen, and it makes me wonder if you were actually expecting me to be there! Man, you were talking to ME! The dish not only looks and sounds great, but that "you can do this" delivery of yours just nails it. Sir, you just earned yourself an enthusiastic new subscriber. Gotta check out the rest of your channel...
I love this channel. No other cooking series I’ve seen gets the at home cooking vibe like this. Great recipes and great videos. Thank you!
