This tour features two high school sweethearts; Daniel and Alicia, that chose the tiny life together! Being 20 year old college students and working full time to live apart didn't make sense. They paid $8,000 for their RV on Facebook Market Place and began their dream. Their tiny living adventure may be stationary right now because they currently live in RV park while going to college, but their DIY'ing adventure is far from stagnant. A mold issue and an overflowing toilet are a few of their issues they have tackled, but according to Alicia it can be fun "sort of"! Their renovation of the RV and especially the kitchen area is a must-see. Keep up the great work you two lovebirds!

I am so happy for the younger generation in regards to the acceptance of tiny house living. When I was in college back in 2007, everyone thought I was crazy for wanting to travel the country in a van. Now, people look at it as an adventure! What a great way to save money during college!

They’re probably reusing old parts they mass-produced decades ago or got cheap from China.. kept in warehouses or something and never got sold out.. RV are not high demand industry.

Great job to you both, I am a 52 year old mother of 3 adult children and 2 grandsons, who have had to all move back home over the past little while due to different health and serious circumstances. I also look after my father. I will be beginning to renovate my own tiny home from an RV this spring due to lack of space in my home. You young people have definitely motivated me to get moving on my build and know I can get this done on a reasonable budget. Good for you again. Much respect and pride❤️👍🏽

I love these tiny home builds that are under $15,000. So attainable. The tiny home tv shows always show these unrealistic $100,000+ "tiny homes" & they're usually parked on somebody else's (like a parent's) property. I thought the point to a tiny home was a relatively debt-free simpler life. So I really appreciate these 2 young adults showing us their lovely & luxurious tiny-home that is also realistically attainable!

This is so awesome seeing other people doing this! My boyfriend and I are also in college and live in our renovated rv with our one year old german shepard. It was easily one of the best decisions I've ever made

I'm a retired architect ....ole geezer now but I recognize great creativity, responsible attitudes & dedication to doing things the right way. Terrific use of materials and designs, you've both done an awesome job here. Plus you're both staying in school. Neat!! Thanks for posting this video. A lot of couples meet in high school and get married and build a life and home and family together. They aren’t the first. My cousin and her husband met in high school, got married after high school, raised a family and have been married for over forty year’s.

@@JMarieCAlove yes, there are a few around but most ended up divorced. Lol as I very well remember from my 20th high school reunion. It is nice though when you meet a couple that stayed together. My cousin and her husband did. He died a couple of years ago at age 68 form a bad infection, but they were married almost 50 years as they were still teens when they married.

You know - I have had to watch couples wait too long - & things don’t necessarily work out because of it. Too much time single & trauma from break ups. Then fertility problems for the wife. I see some advantages to marrying young that I did not consider before. So happy for these two.

@@jesskarose2446 Barely anything? Didn't she say 13k or something? At the very least, their parents were paying their expenses while they saved. Must acknowledge that plenty of high schoolers have to work to contribute to their family's well-being. I didn't (lucky), but let's not act like you can be underpriviledged and just end up in this spot at 20.

In 2019 and 2020 I finished my associates degree and bachelors while living in my rv, I lived on campus for my last 2 quarters until COVID-19 shut everything down. There needs to be more rv parks near colleges and universities and rv parks accepting older rvs. I’m planning on going for my masters and then my PhD and the lack of accessibility for rvs is truly impacting my choices. I’m glad that this couple is living in their rv and I love how they’ve decorated it.
I watch these conversion vids and seldom comment, but this is a masterpiece, my goodness! I plan on starting a skoolie conversion in college before the next five years, and this truly inspires me. Keep it up!

This is the best RV reno I've watched. Aside from how delightful they are, this was a very attractive, and practical, renovation. The RVs in many videos may look nice, but are often impractical for everyday living. Nicely done! May you have a wonderful life together.

How refreshing to see a young couple that are young, but are adults. People used to be like that. Your home is really lovely.
I sprung up a similar plan earlier last year, I've been working at it since. Just recently turned 16, Folks really burned College into my mind, and where I want to go to school, well, it's flat out expensive as hell (Southern California). So, I looked for alternatives for a year, and came across Tiny home and RV living, I fell in love with it, and the idea, so I did research on the pricing, average monthly payment of everyday expenses, etc. It's a lot to spend on upfront and plan for, but in the long-run, your saving loads of money while still living comfortably. I really wanna do it too. Although I still haven't found any videos of a single College student, who is single, and who lives this lifestyle, at least on youtube, that is.
College is very expensive... that’s why this was such a great option for us! I’m glad you are thinking outside the box! You got this!! We are rooting for you!!!

You two did a Beautiful job making the RV your home! I’m 64Yrs old and have been living in my 1980 34V Avion Travel Trailer for 6yrs now! So yes you can live full time in your RV! Many folks and families are doing the same! Always be aware of your surroundings when traveling and parking you RV. Not everyone is so nice. Be safe and enjoy your life together!

Fabulous design changes... The light blue, wood & white color scheme beats the hell out of the miles and miles of boring brown in a standard RV. And it’s amazing that they did all of this for $12,000 including the purchase of the vehicle. Incredibly resourceful young couple! Really nice to see the younger generation being so adaptive and creative... you’re going to have a great life!

This is one of the few I have seen that looks 100% livable with few, if any, compromises. The bathroom is amazing regarding space and storage. The kitchen is clearly designed for someone who cooks. You have multiple places, together or separately, to eat or work (you have a breakfast bar!!!) and it all feels spacious. I am quite tall and a bigger person and find most RV's completely impractical for my needs, this one ticks most if not all of the boxes.
I love what they did there, beautiful and great use of space. They’re so cute and the adorable little dog stole the show.
I'm impressed that 20 year olds had $15,000 to do this. Great job.
Do you really think they paid for it on their own? She also said $12-13k. Their parents probably helped. College students don't exactly have that kind of cash floating around.
@4Freedom4All I worked since I was 12 years old. I started babysitting and cleaning others homes, yard work, picking crops, etc while I was still in school. My first paycheck job was for $1 an hour at a Dairy Bar. I participated in all kinds of school activities and graduated top of my glass in 1979. I had saved and bought my first car with cash at 18. This was in 1979. My parents both worked and came home at night and worked the land and animals till dark. In between all that we were at church every time the doors open. If I wanted jeans or fashionable clothing like the other kids, I had to buy it with my money. My parents bought school clothes, but usually stuff that I could wear to church too....lots of skirts! Even when I got a good paying job at the local bank , I kept my side jobs for more money. I left my home town to move to city where there were so many jobs to be had I worked 3 at a time. I saved up $10k to buy my first home and it was a fixer upper. The point of telling you all this is if people really want to make money they will find a way. I had no help along the way. And as a woman, I had to work even harder to make it where I did. And many times I made less money than a man doing the same job. I worked and went to college at night. It took longer to get my degree, but no student loans. I did some crappy part time jobs on the side along the way, but hey I learned a skill and just waited till a better job came along. I learned to save for retirement in the beginning....never living off more than base salary...always rolling raised into the 401k. Part time side jobs were strictly for fun purchases ...vacations, etc. I particularly used to work retail part time in fall to purchase Christmas gifts only. Like my mother used to say people will do or find a way to do what they really want to do. That usually requires hard work and sacrifice...sometimes that's time, money or both. These 2 kids obviously are very mature in their age and seem to have a good head on their shoulders. I'm sure they have worked hard for everything they have. My only advise is to continue their frugal ways and keep saving. We never know what life is going to throw at you and how it might effect whatever plans you might have for your future. With a good savings nest egg, you are more agile to adapt to life changes. Also I don't know what state they are attending college, but always consider moving to areas with cheaper costs of living.

Most kids today sit on their rear-ends always waiting for mommy & daddy to hand it to them. They have not an ounce of backbone they are lazy when it comes to manual labor and getting their hands dirty.
She had a great example from her parents who worked fulltime and came home to work their farm.

I love your place but I have one small piece of advice. Drill some holes in your hamper. It can prevent your damp things from mildew.

Great idea on drilling holes in your hamper. I’d not only drill holes, I would not ever put damp things in the hamper! Let them dry first. Also, Alicia, since you use Young Living Essential Oils, you could somehow put Thieves oil in your hamper on cotton balls. Maybe attached under the lid. I learned to hang my dirty clothes to let them air out overnight before putting them in the hamper. New Orleans is a very damp place!

It so nice seeing such a young couple being good people making good decisions doing great things for themselves and cooking.
The more I see these tiny homes in RV's or campers the more I realize this is the perfect lifestyle for me, I would like a home just for like a home base but I really love the idea of living out somewhere for months on end and being able to work remotely and just have the freedom there. This RV is absolutely beautiful! I would love something like this :D
