100 years old dirty and rotten carpet cleaning forgotten in the warehouse

l took this dirty and moldy carpet out of a very old woman's warehouse. The woman said that long ago, when she was a child, her family used it and put it in storage and was forgotten there.
There was butterflies, maggots and spiders in the carpet.
l think it is very valuable because the carpet is very old. So l did my best for the carpet.

I love that you keep rinsing it until the water runs off clear. In other rug cleaning videos it seems there is a stock standard numbers of washes and rinses. Seeing the water clear was extremely satisfying 💜💜
Agreed. Others take note needs to be cleabed till water runs clear. Of course other excuses will be that excessive washing might damage the rug. What.....thst was already in a skip or heading there? Pull the other one!

I'm truly impressed for a rug that's 100 years old and still intact good job.
You gave yourself quite a challenge. Layer by layer the dirt is being reduced. I think that whatever the end result is, the memories attached to that era and history would potentially make it worth keeping, worn and damaged or not. Impressed. Nearing the end and you are getting to clean water rinses. I was wondering how you dry such a soggy rug... The final pictures were helpful comparisons but could have held longer or perhaps with side-by side shots. The carpet seems worn some but obviously the details are more notable and the colors better. Congratulations on quite a feat.

Right. I got the impression that you are very conscious while using water. I got the impression from other rug washing videos that they don't care, just keep hosing down water full of dirt and detergent when most of it could be taken out dry first.
Thank God you read the comments. I have been saying this only that vacuum, brush, beat the dust out of these carpets 1st THAN wash them. You will use less water as well.

Nice save! You should be wearing a mask during the dry work, and especially when you were beating the rug. That old rug dirt is nasty to breath in! I don’t watch the entire video, just how it looked, and the end, around final rinse. It is satisfying to see something so dirty, get so clean. Instant gratification. Much respect to you for all that effort to get those rugs clean! I wish I had the space, and resources to clean my big rugs like that! 👍

These people recycle and reuse their water but my brain has been conditioned so badly about wastage since childhood that even though I am trying to relax by watching this beautiful video, and I know that they are reusing their water, I just cannot relax looking at the water lol!! You scrape the dirty water off and it flows back on to the edge of the rug. Why not scrape towards the floor drain?

You know how I've been suggesting that you change the orientation of the camera so you push the water off the rug towards the drain area?
You've done it in a couple of videos lately but I thought I'd mention it again. At 18:52 of the video you changed directions & pushed the water in the direction I've been suggesting.
I just thought I'd say thank you for trying it.

If you had an elevated rack of 2" crusher screen, to do all the rinsing and pressure washing on, this could be done in half the time.
