It looks similar to my Chelsea (bigger leaves) which is a really fast grower in my high humidity fish tank that has wet sand in the bottom. I'm in Minnesota so I know the dry dark winters too.

Oh Fern... I live in Ontario Canada and it's been cloudy and gloomy like 80% of the time here too. It's now so strange when we get a bright clear sunny day. I broke down and bought 2 of the larger Mother lights to help my plants over the winter. And I use beneficial mites from Koppert for Thrips, flat or broad thrips and Spider Mites. It's been a heck of a year for pests for me as well. And now I keep cleaning mealy bugs from my Hoya's. As soon as it warms up, I'm ordering LadyBugs. They are mealy bug eating beasts. And they don't breed indoors so they will age out and die off over a year. I'm sure they will live happily our jungles.

I’ve just been out in the garden and pulled up a whole bunch of spider plants to pot up when they’ve acclimated to indoors. They are in water at present, some already had good sized “babies” which I cut off to also put in water to grow some roots. They are variegated with stripes on the outside, I feel very lucky to have so many free plants and plan to give some to my granddaughter (she wants to create an instant jungle in her bedroom).

Hi Fern…I love your videos! Always looking forward to the next one!!
I just wanted to say, as I have mentioned on other “Tuber’s” videos on pests…
I have had houseplants since the late 70’s.
    I just started “collecting”-rare, common/uncommon plants the past 2-3yrs.
Now with that said…currently I have 200+ plants (no propagations, I choose not to propagate). I do not have pests, nor have I ever had to treat for pests. I don’t use/have pest treatments. I don’t quarantine new plants…I’ll just stop there. There is other things I do. I live in Wva, USA.
Anyhow I attribute to my healthy big beautiful plants to my watering. I shower each and every plant 1-2 times a mo.
I wash their leaves/ stems and flood the pots and let them drain (big floor plants are in the tub).
I have have some - feedback, non-belief that I can water all my plants this way…it’s too time consuming and I don’t deal with pests.
I then say…really?, but you have the time and $$ too treat outbreaks of pests??
I have more $$ and fun time for plants and planty things.😊

Hi Fern! I caved and ordered beneficial bugs last fall to deal with my thrips problem. Though it felt like a big financial investment, it saved me so much time cleaning my plants repeatedly and worked really well to clear up the problem. In retrospect, $90 for 250 sachets from Koppert Canada was so worth it. They have bugs for mealies too. What pushed me to finally order them was when I spotted the Koppert sachets on the greenhouse plants at the Montreal Botanical Gardens lol! Good luck with your pesties :)

But you need to make sure that there’s nothing left on the plants that’ll kill the mites (like sulfur left overs)and then just stop treating them completely 😊
And mites are definitely the way to go instead of beneficial insects imo

I never went out to buy beneficial mites, but my plant shelf does have a resident spider who I like to think is the reason why I'm still pest-free to this day

Hiii! The variegated Bella’s grow almost as fast as the green one does, in my case. I recommend restarting them but not as single nodes!! Those rot and die so easily, in my experience 3 node cuttings will take off in no time and really give them a nice head start. I’ve had my outer var bella for almost 5 months from a 3 node top cut and it’s only slightly smaller than yours now

Definitely having a “false spring” here in Seattle 😂 daffodils are already coming up!!
Always fun to watch plants get a trim and new beginnings. Also I personally love a clean/reorganize video!

I'm not sure if I'm going to be propagating anything this Spring. I think I might downsize a little bit, and perhaps rehome some plants.

A regional big box store in my area has tons of huge Esqueletos for $99. Maybe I should grab one and send you a cutting!

honestly your hoya linearis is goals, i bought mine as a full basket and it was half my body length, but I killed it and started over with a 2 node cutting. that cutting has grown but once it gets long, I'm gonna propagate it to make it bushier.

Good morning Fern! It sucks about all your technical difficulties but thank you thank you for doing your videos over again for us 🥰🥰🥰 with your hoya bella... maybe just plop that nursery pot into your terra cotta? Ooh! Find an orange/brown nursery pot and just sneak it into the terra cotta?? Lol 🤷‍♀️

I highly recommend beneficial bugs! They do the work for you and have definitely lowered my stress level when it comes to pests.

Beneficial bugs help as a preventative not really as a treatment. It’s very expensive to do, especially as it’s recommended to do more than once. (I’ve ordered them mainly for thrips and I found it didn’t eradicate anything but helped as a supplemental treatment)

    Mealies 😢
I’m going through it too. I just threw out the plant I think was the main culprit, a strawberry begonia. I hate to say but I ended up putting systemic in them all! After spraying with the alcohol/dawn mixture.
I love your Hoya Bella’s!!! I only have a plain green one.
Yes, time for me to propagate some too 😊
    Thanks for the video.

Also just an idea, if you are having a hard time deciding what to do with your m.adansonii why not do a half climbing half trailing pot?
