Professional Truck Drivers. They get a bad rap sometimes, people blaming them for accidents when 9 out of ten times its other drivers needlessly speeding or blabbing on a cell phone that cause the accidents. So remember, those eggs and beef and bread that you find on the supermarket shelf - people get that there so be grateful for them. Now, what you said about customer service is true. Worked that many times in my life. Got yelled out for things I had no control over. Was felt up. Had advances made I won't repeat. So listen people, those cashiers aren't there for you to abuse verbally or for you to put your hands on. SHOW SOME RESPECT.
One of the reasons I love this song is is highlights what we all need to realize - every job needs someone to do it. The man picking up your trash is just as valuable as the CEO of your company and the people you make fun of for working fast food are equal to you and me in every way.

But, I get what you're saying. Ppl don't ever really think about where their food comes from. Sooo many people are involved in food production. From the farmers to the processors to the packager.

Indirectly, this is a patriotic song and you'll only hear those in country music. When we think of patriotism, we think, most often, of our servicemen and veterans but this song points out the importance of each and every one of us who gets out there every day and works. We work and produce and that is what makes our nation a success. Let's us all, each and every one, be proud of our contribution to our beloved country. Thanks to country music for sharing that message.

Career industrial roofer here. This kinda attitude about hard working people needs to come back. I know the dangers of my job including the weather, but I love it. I love knowing I'm keeping buildings safe to work in and keeping the people inside those buildings moving. I take pride in everything about it. Have I nearly died doing it? A couple times. Have I witnessed my buddies almost die? More than a few. I do it for my family and for those around me. So that my family can live and peoples kids can go back to school after their roof nearly collapses from snow, or a historical building can stay standing so future generations can enjoy it, or a surgeon doesn't have to worry about a water puddle while he's preforming heart surgery (yes, that happened). I just wish blue collar people were noticed more like they used to be. Just because I wear a hard hat, harness and tool belt instead of a suit and tie doesn't mean I'm not professional.

I did Customer Service for about 20 years, until I couldn't tolerate those "trash people" anymore. I now work in a warehouse and don't have to answer a phone for 8 hours a day. I refuse to be one of those trash people because I've been on the other end of that line.

  • @Pmjdp2001

From 16-20 years old, I was in customer service. 21-27, I was an Airborne Infantryman in the US Army, from 27-35 I was a Deputy Sheriff in NC, from 36-now I’ve been a mailman. ALL of these jobs are important. Doesn’t matter if it’s the street sweeper, or a NASA scientist, every job depends on every other job. Without one, the whole system breaks down. That’s why, no matter what my job has been, I have ALWAYS treated people with the utmost respect. Period. (Side Note, even as a Deputy Sheriff, 90% of the people I arrested actually apologized to me for having to arrest them, simply because I treated each and every person as an individual, who was worthy of respect. Because that is how I was raised, how God wants me to act, how my wife EXPECTS me to act, and how I, wanting to be a better man in the world, will ALWAYS act”

I appreciate the farmers because there is no guarantee they’re going to get anything in return. The coal miner is another...my parents, me and my brother were raised on coal and my child was for the first 14 years of her life until the coal industry started going down. I have the upmost respect for miners after going underground with my husband once. I started smothering and I could still see the outside. As far as danger goes they have the worst profession because there’s so many things that can go wrong that’s out of there control. My dad worked 22 years underground before it became to much on his body. I’m proud to be a coal miners granddaughter, daughter, sister, and wife. Now both me and my husband work in the factory for Toyota.
