Hard to believe that this woman could be this happy and at peace when she's suffering from terminal cancer. What a beautiful thing.
It's so cool how the immense potential of psychedelics is starting to become more and more accepted and even recommended.
Psychedelics saved my sanity. I suffered from severe depression and anxiety, what I'd imagine would be similar to those facing a terminal illness. Yes, it was that bad.
These days I'm enjoying every single second of every day like it's my last. And I'm no longer afraid of death, and came to terms with my sexuality.
It's so liberating. Within a year I've gone from 0 friends and a toxic relationship into no more toxic influences around me, and multiple best friends and over a hundred great great ..acquaintances?
And living life as the best version of me that i can, trying to make positive change into this world each and every day. Trying to pass on what I've learned to the next generation, and teach people about being and feeling free.
Your freedom, soul and life are the most important things you have. Don't ever forget that. It's an insane cosmic coincidence that you're here right now, don't take anything in life for granted, and be grateful for the opportunity to life ❤️
Peace ✌️
One of the most beautiful things I've ever read. I'm so happy for you and I hope to experience the same thing myself. God knows I need it. Did you use psilocybin yourself like this lady did?
It's interesting to hear different people talk about their experiences when taking psilocybin, LSD, DMT, etc. Lots of similarities but also differences. This lady says she was showed the truth of reality -- "life is meaningless,....we have no purpose,....you are alive right here, right now because that's all you have." Then I've heard many people say it's showed them there is something more after this earth based reality. I was actually surprised -- I almost feel like they edited out a lot of that interview with her. Who knows,...
Billy Hughes you have to consider her mind have to deal that she will last no longer
Billy Hughes yes they definitely edited out her perspective. There is no way she got that out of that experience. That’s probably how she was feeling before .
i really wanted more of this, i guess 60 minutes did a good job getting this extreme statement front and center for this segment cause i remember this vid 2 years later after seeing it on tv
They did edit this very short. The original piece that aired on tv was probably 15 minutes long. It featured this woman, a man who was an alcoholic and I forget who the last person was but I wanna say maybe a man who smoked and quit cold turkey after his session? Wish I could find the full length piece because it was really interesting.
You heard what you wanted to hear.
Your mind can't grasp her perception of reality...
So you discount her, because she doesn't align with you...
Damn, I’d like to see this whole interview.
She tells her entire story here: czcams.com/video/0UaErq63VKc/video.html
I cry... I love... Thank you...
I still cry when talking about mushrooms, I was depressed, taking antidepressants, and no help, I didn't care anymore so decided to risk purchasing this and try for myself. One of the best decisions I've made
And what happened when u tool shrooms… im also suffering from death anxiety 😭😭
Beautiful! ❤️
This was not the full interview with her.
How possible is it to use this therapy for heroin addicts ? After all it has stopped a man who was having twenty drinks of alcohol every night for years. Right ?
I think psychedelics could work for any type of addiction, but I think the following conditions must first be met: 1) the person with the addiction wants to overcome it and 2) they take it in the right setting. this doesn't necessarily have to be the setting described in the video. if there is any way you can talk to them about it, it would probably be a good idea to be more informed about how psychedelics work
Look up Ayahuasca or ibogaine they have Ayahuasca Church in Orlando
Heroin addicts are better served by Ibogaine.
“Right here, right now.” So interesting because this was virtually the title of Ram Dass’ book “Be Here Now.” He was a professor at Harvard in the 1970s who did research with LSD as a psychotherapeutic. Just interesting that this was her take away from her experience with these drugs. It obviously was his main take away as well as it was the title of his book.
Amazing that they cut the audio to force her to say "We have no purpose, life is meaningless." I can gauruntee that this was taken out of context.
an excellent observation. Editor's do this sort of thing all the time and most people don't notice.
Wow, when I rewatch that I could really tell that it was edited. Thank you for pointing that out. Anderson Cooper is such a fraud
I don't understand. Why post just a snippet of the program, with no link to the whole enchilada?
She took the wrong mushrooms if she says: "life is meaningless, we have no purpose"
She needs to take some real mushrooms, not just the chemical compound.
I never felt as much Love and happiness than when I took mushrooms, that Love I felt was stronger than words can describe, that's what we should all be looking for in this life.
At least now she's not anxious anymore, that's the positive part.
@Rasmusb You're right, not everyone will, but what I meant to say is, they took psilocybine from a mushroom I guess, unless they know how to synthetise the molecule but I don't think they do.
And depending on the strand of mushroom, the effects will be slightly different. I tried for myself different strands of magic mushrooms, had several trips on the same mushrooms so I can tell, and other people told me the same, that some strands will mostly make you feel good, some other will most likely give you a bad trip, not an enjoyable one, nor one that brings anything good for personnal growth.
If I wanted to help people with mushrooms, I would first try my best to find the strand that has the best feedback according to the needs of my patients.
Depends on how your mind is sealed
If your a Bad person whatever is amplified is going to make you worse
If your a good person whatever is amplified is going to make you great
In essence
You can tell a lot about people in this sense when they go through trails in their lives they become whiny poor Me babies! Instead of being mature and standing upright
I think its dependent on the person. The somewhat spiritual perspective that there is an instrinsic purpose to life may not resonate with everyone. I remember doing shrooms out in Colorado surrounded by trees thinking how I am made out of the same "stuff" as everything around me. Like them, I'm a carbon based machine made up of the sum of energetically favorable interactions of atoms which make proteins, nucleic acids, etc. From that lense everything just seemed so absurd and I came to the conclusion that half the stuff I worry about isn't worth my time. I should just enjoy what's around me.
Interesting perspective, I've formed the complete opposite opinion surprisingly enough. I do not enjoy mushrooms but adore synthetic psilocybin (4-aco-dmt). Given the choice of lsd or shrooms I'd always pick lsd but if you were to offer me 4-aco-dmt or lsd then the answer's the synthetic psilocybin.
I've tried multiple strains of shrooms and do not like them, the trip feels so much 'murkier' and 'dirtier' compared to the 4-aco-dmt which is quite surprising given the stigma towards synthetic things I see people perpetuate in the psychedelic community.
@@sebastienj.c.218Maria Sabina was introduced to the synthetic psilocybin way back when, and it was brought to her to "test" out and compare to the mushrooms she had been treating her people with for decades. According to her, they got it right and it was indistinguishable from the mushrooms.
However, I do believe the entourage effect is important and that the lab compounds have a place, but they cannot replace what Mother Nature gives us.
This is my official response video to this episode of "60 Minutes." czcams.com/video/xMF_VtgTtpo/video.html
I thought benzodiazepams were anti anxiety meds. Which have their own hazards which won't matter to people with terminal cancer. Psychedelics can take you both ways, into nightmares or enlightenment.
With your eyes covered and your ears covered so you can't hear anything is the proper way to do LSD. So that way you go into your own visions without distractions that you can misinterpret.
Wow. Way to cut out all the important parts.....
"I'm learnin' to fly, but I ain't got wings." -Tom Petty
She sure seems cheerful for having lung cancer
She sounds just like Tyler Durden
Beautiful beautiful.
Life is right here, right now.
That's all we have.
It turns out that that's everything! 🕉
It's reality. Truth. Beauty.
Where can I find the full segment?
Me too!! I’ve seen the full episode, it used to be easy to find but it’s as if it’s been wiped from the Internet, I’ve searched for extended periods of time unsuccessfully. Very odd, hoping someone has the answer to where it can be found, if it can be found
The Viking ate mushrooms before going into battle.it lowers the fear response and helps you see that you are a spiritual being and that the body ending is not the end of you.
Lol I do purchase mine from this dude online..
Mycodree
Hes on telegram,
Cool now just get her some Rick Simpson Oil!
My halucination had me touch a miniature baby, and hand to god...i felt her
And that gave her peace???
Michael Lally I guess I was surprised that her feeling that there was nothing after death gave her peace.
I do want to receive the therapy. I’ve been clamoring on the (virtual) door at JH. I’m hoping to be recruited for a study that is supposed to be starting up shortly. 🤞🏼
Have you benefitted from therapeutic use of psychedelics? If so, may I ask which drug and what effects you experienced?
Michael Lally thanks. That is the number one benefit I’m hoping to realize. I feel such pain, truly suffer, at the judgement of others, real and imagined. I can’t bear to make a mistake at work, for example. Lately I feel at complete odds with the world-such utter disharmony. I just want to feel some semblance of peace and communion. I’ve suffered from anxiety and and depression my whole life, but this has been a very hard year.
I hope I will be chosen for the Psilocybin study and actually receive the drug-and that it works for me.
@@maremacd did you get recruited? what center is it? i'm from europe and would like to find a similar opportunity here
haku
The study is being conducted by Usona at research hospitals throughout the US. I am local to Johns Hopkins University, so I was tested through them. The study that I attempted to get into was on the effects of psilocybin on major depressive disorder. Despite the fact that the trial requires intensive follow up for participants (a tremendous time commitment) and does not have a crossover component (which means that 50% of participants will not receive the active drug even after completion of the study), I signed up for consideration and submitted to a rigorous and exhausting screening day. They had assured me that if I weren’t picked for the study, at least I would have a follow up with the staff psychiatrist, who would help guide me in seeking further treatment for my depression. That was a very welcome benefit since I have had no success in finding a psychiatrist in my area who is accepting new patients and takes my insurance. (That must surprise someone from Europe - - that we in America don’t have adequate access to mental health services.) Anyway, I was informed a couple of days after my screening that I was not accepted into the study. They won’t tell you why, except to say it wasn’t a medical result that disqualified me. Judging from the questions and my responses, I suspect they thought I wasn’t depressed enough. I think they were looking for someone who struggled to bathe and feed themselves.
After I was told I wasn’t chosen, I asked about the follow up meeting with the staff psychiatrist, and they simply emailed me a couple of links- one that had information about other studies and a link to the Psychology Today directory of psychiatric providers. I already had this information and had tried to use the psychology today website to find a provider, but their information is no better than that on my insurer’s webpage. All the information is out of date, and I still can’t find a psychiatrist who can help me. I was extremely disappointed in their follow up. If I had suspected that they would just throw me back into the abyss, I would never have bothered to try for the study since they require so much of participants and offer so little in return.
Truly a disappointing experience.
@@maremacd i was reading what about what your experiencing and i also suffer from depression and anxiety. Buddhism and C.B.T has really helped me out a lot. There are a lot of online programs that can help too. Don't give up.
CNN doesn’t want you to watch the rest of the interview. It’s too enlightening.
ANYTHING that helps that doesn't hurt people. I am so happy for her and others that are willing to try. This comes from the Earth just like cannabis and we have been lied to about these "drugs."
Same with heroin!
Serious uncontrollable death anxiety. I don't know if this was meant to help lol
It is very sad this video doesn't have 1 million views.
More people need to be educated in psilocybin mushrooms.
The government don't want that though.they want us to be numb and full of fear. To look for them for all the awnsers and help
Can I try some.

Try some from my dealer
It helped me to
i wish i did not watch this. hey, but if this is it, who was telling her that?
This story was an intriguing "14" minutes! What's the point of THIS?? Ahh,......Ok, the link for the FULL story is in the "remarks"..or HERE: cbsn.ws/2phQBKv

Lol
great video, but the guy looks a bit like a bootleg tim cook
the matrix has you.
Childish jokes like this are why psychedelics have a bad reputation; furthermore, this is a terrible joke, because you're making it look psychedelics make you question everything and become permanently lost in confusion, which is exactly what they're not.
Psychedelics are very useful in not allowing you to realise reality.
Absolutely sad. You are more than just ”right here and right now.” You have been bought and paid for at a great price!
That's what someone else told you. She had a direct experience so I believe her. What is sad is to mindlessly believe anything. No wonder you are referred to as sheep.
Absolutely sad that you believe everything you are told! Time to wake up!
v as a Shepherd I would disagree with that statement.
@AngelOne11 @v - You can't just tell people why they believe what they believe. Is he supposed to believe what you told him?
Psychedelics clearly have massive potential for psychological healing, but I think psychedelic advocates and Christians alike have reason to be wary of whether our society will use them well. I do think it is a bad idea in principle, however, to use them for (so to speak) spiritual reasons, which misidentifies phenomenal experiences with the spiritual. Christians of course will have little response to psychedelic advocates, until it becomes sufficiently public and they actually have a reason to learn about it, but they have Jesus Christ and have no need for psychedelics.
As free thinkers, secure in your perspectives, you shouldn't be afraid to understand another perspective, so hopefully our respective communities can calmly identify the main points of our disagreements and have more helpful conversations. God bless!

@@nickj5451 I am a pastor and are confused as to your "Christians are not free thinkers logic."
One. That is painting with a large brush. You are lumping every Christian into a belief that you cannot possibly identify.
Two. I am probably the free-est thinker you will ever meet. I was going into being a physician. Instead, I ended up getting degrees in an odd assortment of disciplines.
Three. Please do not take offense at this. It is difficult to understand for MOST people that drugs such as psychedelic's being used to treat people with mental illness. I work with agencies dealing with the mentally ill/handicapped.
The more research I do on my trips the more I realize dmt mushrooms and lsd are a way to get you away from god. Life is not meaningless. You do have a purpose. Here and now is not all. God loves you all. Keep on trippin, but don’t be influenced to believe that you don’t have a purpose. I love you all.
