It's very easy to obtain guns in the US. Even if you live in a state with strict gun laws all you have to do is drive to another state and make the purchase or you can take advantage of loop holes like ordering the parts and building the gun without registering it with the government.
There so many different ways to obtain guns and organizations like the NRA in the US ensure there is no way to impose any real gun control.
