    One of the best explanations on this subject I have seen. I was coincidentally just looking at the Cowfish site an hour before seeing your video and will definitely be giving them a call.
    Once again, thanks for a great presentation/explanation. Cheers Mark

    Hi Excellent introductory video and thoroughly endorse Cowfish as an integrated (Starlink/4G etc) integration for those that want a more complete solution. I say this as a Communications Engineer with 40 yrs experience. During several outdoors/caravan and 4wd shows there are many exhibitors who have not heard of this product. When raised with some high end manufacturers they sometimes openly advocated for lesser solutions which I thought was pretty poor. Cowfish integration provides an excellent product augmentation for any caravan manufacturer who would improve their product offering by adding Cowfish as an option.

    We've been running a UFI directional aerial with a Netgear Nighthawk next to Starlink. The 2 are not comparable for service. The cost of the hardware for both is almost the same, for an extra $60/month to have internet wherever you want with 5G+ speed it wins hands down. Starlink draws 40w so you can run to off a 100w inverter.

    Great vid Ant, Had this problem in Keith SA last weekend. 1800 people town + 10,000 for their Diesel and Dirt weekend. 4 bars 5g but buffering trying to watch the Adelaide Crows lose drove me to drink. The 3g 4g 5g select the best solution question. If on 3g will Kayo work so I don't get buffering?
    PS. Dissapointed Mavo didn't do a gratuitous walk through in her bikini😊

      I doubt 3G would hold a decent buffer mate, unless you were the only one on the network!
      Mavo said she’ll get her bikini ready for the next vid

    Hi and thank you so much for a great explanation. You spoke about the Zoleo as your ‘go to’ comms in a previous video. Could you please reply with a link to that? Happy days.

      Hi Petra, I need to make an updated video in this space. We now use Starlink as our primary comms. The latest iPhone that we both use also have a satellite based emergency service as well. So we’ve let our Zoleo subscription lapse

    Hi, thanks for the video its good. My question is the omi direction cowfish antenna. Is it ground free and, like any antenna, higher wins. So, an antenna post to gain higher, then a roof adapter while travel.

      @empty_nestadventures  Před měsícem

      Not sure on the complete specs of the antenna. Give the team at the Cowfish a call

      Hey guys. We use Starlink now as we are working a lot on the road. We are however still into Cowfish as they make a 12V conversion for caravans for Starlink

  • @alishabab3
    @alishabab3 Před 5 měsíci

    starlink will have or does have 12v now but its still not as good in amps to the 12v 5g modems.. 12v starlink is 5-10a compared to 0.7a...

  • @vanessa1474
    @vanessa1474 Před měsícem

    So forgive me, but is it a case of one or,the other, or do you get both? (Cowfish vs Starlink)

    • @empty_nestadventures
      @empty_nestadventures  Před měsícem +1

      Hey Vanessa. This vid was nearly 2 years ago, before Starlink was available Australia wide. The Cowfish setup in this vid is perfect for those not travelling to really remote places, who just need internet for basic things like emails, socials, tv. Starlink has improved since then a lot, but is still expensive for basic usage. We use Starlink now as we are often very remote and we both are working some of the time as we travel. Ant runs high def video calls in his job, so he needs high quality internet that is consistent from place to place. We might do an updated video on this explaining the user cases
