As an alum of the Class of '72, I would say that the alumni have more patience with Coach Freeman than does the average fan for this reason: he represents the University so well. Freeman has earned a lot of goodwill. Anyway, his recruiting has ben superb and he now has two very talented coordinators.
Mf has been working harder than any coach in the country as far as recruiting goes, he has hired the best oc and dc to help him get over the top, if he gets the talent he has the coaching and the money to win the national championship, go Irish ☘️, I love Marcus , he is in it for the long haul
I grew up at Kyle Field. The only time Kyle Field is scary is win Texas or Alabama come to town the Irish are in that category.
Jack Easterbe The biggest snake In Texans history and in football works for Texas A&M now. If you want to see a snake meet that guy.
I never heard anything from the alumni saying anything like that. They love him just as much as the rest of the fan base. There is no need for Marcus Freeman to worry. As long as he keeps going up he's fine.
Don’t really agree with Joe with how the alumni view MF. Most that I’ve talked to like him way more than the last guy and represents what the university stands for a such a higher level. I think anyone who’s already losing patience with Freeman isn’t really looking at him fairly.
Totally agree with that assessment.
Agreed. I actually think the guys who are impatient with MF are the BK fans.
@@2SloppyJoe could be. Could also be due to something deeper than just that if you get what I’m insinuating. Unfortunate but some people still have an old fashioned mentality towards seeing a guy like MF in a position of leadership. Especially among older folks. I don’t want to accuse Joes dad directly of being that way because I don’t know him personally, but that mentality definitely still exists in general.
@@MccGolfProductionsit's definitely part of it.
You can certainly speak for your dad but not sure you’re the spokesperson for the entire alumni on how they feel about MF😂

The OSU loss was survivable. Louisville and Clemson were not.
That Louisville team was special and overlooked by many last year.
True, Nole. But that game should’ve never been a loss.
Notre Dame and MF cant lose to a rebuilt Aggies team loaded with talent with a new coach!
From what I have seen the alumni of ND have been thrilled with Freeman. They are happy that the previous coach (name not to be mentioned) is gone. IMO don't watch this. The best place I have seen for Notre Dame coverage is Irish Breakdown. The free stuff is amazing. The premium board is inexpensive and has incredible intel. Go Irish
Last year Michigan had the easiest schedule in college football history. They made it with a 4 team playoff.
MF is doing everything right and his effort and passion are second to none. Now it’s time to start winning. The alumni is fine with MF. BK had a ceiling. MF is breaking this. Go Irish ☘️
F BK
When MF wins a national championship, you can say that
NotreDame WR ROOM speed 🔥☘️ 40 TIMES
Kris Mitchell 4.3
Beaux Collins 4.60
Jayden Harrison 4.4
Jordan Faison 4.4
Jayden Thomas 4.6
Jaden Greathouse 4.54
Deion Colzie 4.46
Cam Williams 4.47
Micah Gilbert 4.51
Caleb KK Smith 4.47
Logan Saldate 4.47
They got too cute on there final drive and we're forced to punt
yeah, first play Estime ran for 11 yards, should've run the same play until OSU stopped it
go irish
TAMU is really the only game that concerns me. ND plays great at home, but not so great on the road lately. This is where we're going to see if ND has overcome the away-game bug.
Easiest in 4 years??
Try decades
DJ came into South Bend and played really well. He threw for 429 yards. So…. not sure about the “didn’t play well in South Bend” comment
Prob talking about the most recent time 🤔
Talking about his second visit, which at one point he was pulled.
Don’t sleep on Georgia Tech
Thank you! The GT Qb has been through growing pains and will be ready game one in a neutral environment! It will say more about DJU than him, if the Noles win and the way Fsu wins.
LOL get real
Everybody knows the loss at Clemson last year "SHOULD NOT" have happened, generally speaking -- especially "IF" we were truly a team on the rise after disappointing losses to Ohio State and Louisville. Clearly, we were NOT as ascendant as we believed.
But had we won the Clemson game as we "should have" if we were a good team on the rise, it still would NOT have made any difference with respect to ND getting into the 4-team playoff; as even a 2-loss team without playing in (and winning) a 13th/"conference championship" game, coupled with the fact that our two losses to OSU and Louisville no longer looked like "good" losses by season's (not to mention the perpetual anti-ND hate out there because we're a football independent), there was NO way ND was going to be selected for the CFB Playoff featurng ONLY 4 teams. The ONLY difference beating Clemson would have made (which was still important to the University of course) was that we would have qualified for a MUCH more lucrative "New Year's Six" bowl game instead of the comparatively pedestrian Sun Bowl. But here's the thing: even though Clemson had a very rough start to their season last year, only a FOOL would have thought it was going to be an "easy" game. Apart from the LOUSY officiating (which we needed to EXPECT down there -- and therefore we needed to not allow ourselves to get behind and be at the zebras' mercy), these are just a few factors we needed to realize to have a more realistic expectation of the game both before and after:
1. Debo Swinney is STILL a top-drawer, National Championship-winning coach, and there is NO WAY the Tigers were not going to be well prepared and well coached;
2. Clemson is STILL a BLUE-CHIP PROGRAM with tons more "4 and 5 star talent on paper" compared to ND ... and they have WAY MORE "blue chip DEPTH" on their team to platoon in waves than does ND;
3. The previous season in 2022, not only did ND defeat Clemson in South Bend, we EMBARRASSED them on National TV and HUMBLED Dabo Swinneey -- the 2023 game was a REVENGE game (both for the players AND Dabo);
4. The game was NOT at night; Clemson instead intentionally scheduled it to be played under scorching sun and suffocating South Carolina humidity in the early afternoon; and
5. Despite several close early season losses and a marginal early season record, Clemson was NEVER "as bad" as their "record" made them appear ... and by season's end, the Clemson Tigers clearly showed themselves to be a good team.
I am an ND alum, and I do NOT believe "all" or even "most" alumni are as "impatient" with Marcus Freeman as you think. YES, there are SOME (perhaps even some "wealthy" alum who may have elevated "clout") -- nut NOT the MAJORITY of even alum. As for the possibility of Marcus Freeman getting "fired," the chance of that happening -- absent a total implosion of the team or the eruption of a major scandal that tranishes the University (neither of which will happen) -- is LESS THAN ZERO %. EVERYBODY LOVES MARCUS as a man, as a coach, and as the very EMBODIMENT of what ND stands for !!! He wins "the right way," and "gets" Notre Dame FAR MORE than Brian Kelly ever did or could. The greatest event that can happen is for ND to win a National Championship in football under Marcus Freeman. Go Irish !!!
as an alum, i can tell you that you're very wrong. why say things that you aren't familiar with or have nothing to base it ?
Why is people sleeping on Louisville??? They are gonna be rough again this year..
They've worked the portal beautifully and have a talented, athletic d-line. Louisville has as good a chance as any ACC team to compete for a conference title, I agree. I think Clemson separates themselves from the ACC pack early with a huge upset win over UGA in the season opener.. but we shall see.
ND is going to be laying for them this year. All the stars aligned for UL when they caught ND in that gauntlet.
exactly. Louisville will be good again but not great and ND wont be overlooking them and wont be playing at their place in night game etc. Notre Dame will be out for revenge in that game.
Louisville got exposed as the season went on. They are a mediocre team.
"... are ..."
See you soon Notre Dame! I am inevitable.
Sincerely,
The Big Ten
You want to bet. Notre Dame's not going to the big 10 sorry.

As long as ND has its TV deal and there’s a path to the playoff for them, they will not be joining a conference. Neither of those things look like they are changing any time soon.
@@MccGolfProductions FYI. The B1G and Notre Dames TV deal end at the same time. NBC has publicly stated that they want Notre Dame to play more B1G teams on a regular basis. The TV networks call the shots and run CFB now. The B1G and SEC will go to 10 conference games sooner than later and if Notre Dame doesn’t jump on board they risk having too weak of a schedule every season and will fall short of the CFP. It’s inevitable.
ND Alums are patient. We haven’t expected championships since Holtz. We’ve been through a lot of mediocrity and disappointment the past 30 years. I finally feel like we’re on the right track.
Also, you guys missed the point of level of recruiting under Freeman compared to years past. This fact should provide some optimism that we’re headed in the right direction.
