I love how even the way they "do" each other's backs is totally in line with their personalities. Gabrielle is just softly sponching Xena's back and Xena is just fully scrubbing Gabrielle's back and ear. Just one of the little things this show always got right 😍

I was about to write something very similar.''Friendship?''that's what they're calling it? Both the actresses(Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor)that played Xena and Gabrielle have said that Xena and Gabrielle are lovers.
Pretty much any and everyone with eyes and a functioning brain reached that conclusion a long time ago. I figured that out as a teenage kid watching the show,so they shouldn't insult people's intelligence by referring to Xena and Gabby's relationship as ''friendship''-the two of them were always a lot more than that.
The meaning of life is our relationship with God. These four steps are the key to getting a Divine Revelation directly from him. They are something you'd eventually do if you took God seriously enough to read the Bible, while implementing its teachings. They are, forgive your parents, break down before Jesus, ask for forgiveness, and read three books of the Bible. Step four requires the first book of each testament, and one you chose yourself. The order is actually important. The steps build on each other. Each one primes your soul for the next. To be forgiven we must forgive. Mathew 6: 14-15. That's why forgiving others has to come before asking for forgiveness. Jesus will not forgive you until you've at least done the bare minimum, our parents. They're supposed to be easiest to forgive, because they've fed, housed, loved us to some degree. Our problems with them are supposed to represent our problems with God. This is why the bare minimum to receive the revelation is our parents. You'll still have to forgive everyone though, but that comes much easier after meeting God. I'm extremely serious and very literal. I'm not talking about signs, nor feelings, nor prayer. It's an actual literal pulled out of your body direct one on one conversation, nothing you can miss. nor misinterpretae. The vast majority of christans never bother to do what God wants seriously, so most never get this revelation. To most outside church their Bible is a paper weight, or at best a virtue signal. Their religion is in what other people think about them, not their relationship with God. Please do those steps I mentioned, there really is a Divine Revelation waiting for all of us. There's extraordinarlly important information we all desperately need in this revelation, but those who get it are forbidden to share it. The Truth that Jesus Christ is Lord is written on every human heart. We all have that knowledge inside us, but we bury it under mountains of pain and anger. Those steps clear away that garbage inside you, letting God heal you, so that his words boom clearly inside your soul. The entire point of our existence here is to Trust God enough that we pay him this mustard seed of Faith, so his Grace can remove the stain sin has left on our souls. Everyone that does not get this Grace is not forgiven of any of their sins, even if they turned around and we're the best person from 25 to death. Without Grace those first sins are still counted against you, tying you to the devil's punishment. It's not about being a good person, It's about being forgiven for when you weren't. The Bible is Truth. Please do those steps and see for yourself. Please take your salvation seriously.

@@tagadabrothersband You need to look up “subtext.” The show creators clearly intended their relationship to be read both romantically and platonically depending on the audience in the beginning and by the end, they were pretty blatant about them being lovers.

Fact: A Day in the Life came about because Rob Tapert (Lawless's husband and series creator) wanted to do an episode with as little action as possible in order to allow Lucy Lawless a chance to recover from her accident which she fractured her pelvis whilst rehearsing a Xena sketch on The Jay Leno Show. Tapert came up an idea for an episode that was more lighthearted and was like a documentary that explored a day in the life of Xena and Gabrielle's life and their mundane lifestyle - it became "A Day in the Life".
That was interesting AND it gives me another reason to dislike Jay Leno!

I remember visiting Universal Studios when I was a kid in the 90's. Back then there was a Hercules/Xena experience you could watch. Before you could go in they showed you clips from the series. I remember this clip bing shown and the room had loads of guys whistling and hooting wildly. Of course I was only 7 years old and didn't understand back then. Lol

It's a weird I just started watching season 1 again and I realize that these are the same people behind Spartacus and it's nice to hear her speak normally after that. Even after all these years this show endures and Xena is still a badass.

Im still puzzled 26 years later that people still refuse to see that xena and gabrielles relationship went deeper than just being best friends. Yes they were soulmates and forever connected. Yes, definitely best friends. In the end, people will interpret things on his/her own thoughts and feelings. We are not able to force anyone to think like everyone else. Just see the relationship as pure and genuine. Nothing says that it has to be romantic. 🙂
@@b.y.o.p.9035 Doctor and Roses romantic relationship from Doctor who actually had less overt cues on screen, yet people see their relationship because it was between a "man and a woman". Women in romantic relationships have to scream to the skies for people to see it as anything other than platonic. Especially with Xena because it was made in the '90s where the producers couldn't confirm their romance on screen.
@@filmmakerdreamstudios I'm not able to say anything on Doctor Who as I've never watched that show. In the case of Xena, back then certain texts and phrases weren't shown or said because of the different time period. It was more held back from the way things are much more expressed today.
Everyone has his/her opinions. I felt Xena and Gabrielle's relationship fell on being the best of friends with strong feelings towards one another. That was as far as it seemed to go. Which is fine with me. Sometimes all that confirmation on screen isn't needed.

I know EVERYONE seems to think these two were a couple, but it was fairly common during Roman times for multiple people of the same sex and occasionally opposite sex to bathe together, I just don’t remember if it happened during Grecian times.
If anyone feels the need to object to this by pointing out how perfect they were together or how obvious it was, please don’t.
So much of ancient Roman culture was patterned from Greek culture that communal bathing was probably taken from the Greeks. In other words, the Greeks did it first. Probably.
You know what was also very common during Roman times? Homosexual, Bisexual and Polyamorous relationships.
In fact many Christians often try to claim this is why the Roman Empire fell (while ignoring that it was literally Christians who destroyed the Empire and attempted to erase all the aspects of Roman culture that they saw as abhorrent..)
All of this of course is irrelevant tho, Xena wasn't a documentary.. It was written in the 90s when studios were too afraid to show openly LGBTQ+ relationships and in order to bypass censors they wrote certain characters in a coded ways. This is where the joke "just Gals being Pals" originated, pointing out LGBTQ+ characters were written on TV.
The writers of the show, even confirmed this was the case. You're actually living proof of how this code worked in the 90s.. any accusation by Conservatives that this show was promoting Homosexuality could be denied because it's very plausible that "they're just Friends" or "this was the culture at the time" etc.. etc..
It's great you know some of the history of Ancient Rome.. but you should really look into the history of LGBTQ+ media in the 80s/90s because you seem to be unaware of how that influenced how characters were written during those time periods.
Which btw, as a Woman.. I can say that some of the coded behavior they used are things Straight Women do with each other, and that do not actually indicate whether or not someone is a LGBTQ+ in real life.. but on TV/Movies during certain time periods, they used those behaviors exclusively for LGBTQ+ characters, and they never used them for Straight Characters (outside of certain jokes poking fun at these tropes/codes by others who knew what they were).
Just twenty or so years ago it was norm, and most wouldn't question Xena and Gabrielle's sexual orientation after watching this. I'm so, so tired of people searching for sexual hints everywhere. They're just taking a bath, ffs. It's very handy to have someone to scrub your back. And it's just the same as when you and your friends swim in the same pool or lake. People nowdays are too damn concerned about hints and subtexts to treat each other like humans, not like some walking packs of stereotypes. Civilisation made such a simple thing like girls washing together in one river unnecessary complex. People _think_ in terms of sexual harassment now. What a disaster.
