let’s take a moment to appreciate how she didn’t just tell her sister and her kids to “sleep on the couch “ and actually took the time to make accommodations.
I mean sometimes there isn’t much you can do, also lots of kids like sleeping on the floor 🤷🏻♀️ when my cousins came over, we would actively reject sharing the bed (my brother and I both had queen size so there was room) and instead we would all steal every spare and decorative blanket and pillow in the house and make a giant floor nest 🤷🏻♀️ kids will be kids, and if that’s what they prefer, there’s no point in making a big deal over alternative arrangements
So funny because I got so many comments saying that it was rude of me to kick my kids out of their room for my sisters kids. I was so thrilled to have them visit I wanted to make their stay so comfortable. Also my boys were more than happy to sleep with me. They would sleep with me every night if I let them. haha
I love the lower height of these interchangeable bunk type bed no support needed for bottom bunk as the floor acts as it, my grandkids have a lower profile set as well.
That's so ingenious!!! I immediately assumed the bottoms were drawer space b4 she flipped them. I love the ingenuity, forget relatives, think of the endless play and creative possibilities ❤🥳
Very smart to put your kids with you! When I was a kid my parents would put any extra kids with us and it was a disaster. Kids can be one way in small doses but can be nightmares when they're around only kids at night
Wow some of you have no hosting manners or abilities. Teaching your children (and also practicing this yourself) to help guests feel welcome and comfortable is an act of giving. It develops better morals. It’s ok to make yourself a little uncomfortable so that family members or friends can come over and spend quality time with you.
Dude, it's not "having no manners" to not kick your kids out of their OWN room for someone else. As far as I'm concerned, it's far, far more badly mannered to force someone to give up their own space for you. There are clearly plenty of mattresses. Her sisters kids could have slept in a living room or in her room if she wanted to be accommodating. It's incredibly rude and bad mannered to force your children to give up their own space for someone else. It's not like the kids chose for the sister to come over, the mom did. Therefore, the kids should not be the ones to suffer for it
@@Smileyface-xq4fwgiving up your own room for a couple of nights so your family who is visiting from out of town is hospitable and the kind thing to do. She asked her children if they were okay with it-they were-so in the end, it’s teaching them how to be a good host for later in life.
Guys, just cuz some of you have beef with your cousins doesn't mean this family does. There's a chance the kids agreed to let their cousins use their room. Quit judging a life that has nothing to do with you
Right, I slept with my cousin and my momma dared me to have a problem with it. Just wish she hasn't trusted that one cousin that just "loved" me so much 😮💨.
I actually used to have that EXACT bed frame!!! Yeah it works great. I had it more than ten years and it never got old.. Just flipped it over every time it wasn't working for the situation (cousins and when my brother was born)
When i was a kid for some reason I preferred n loved sleeping on the floor. Even now as an adult, I’ll watch tv laying on the floor instead of sitting on the couch😂 😂
@@elenoua8272😂 That's funny! My son probably will too because he's 4 with a queen size bed. My daughter will have a queen size bed when she turns 4 as well.
I had a bed just like it we used it as a loft. It was not a loft and definitely didnt work the same. Also over time those boards will break, and if theres plastic holding the boards in place those will break over time. And if your stupid like me as a kid doing summer sults in the top part and falls off and breaks 3 plastic bins at the bottom.
I have this bed & that's how you are supposed to be used in the first place! I draped the bottom side with curtains so that my son has private tent house for play. And when his cousin's come over, they sleep down.
Btw if you're going to keep the beds like this long term you should add something under the mattresses to slightly elevate them from the floor. Otherwise there's a risk they'll start going mouldy.
I feel like the beds are supposed to be this way so you can have a small office space underneath. Otherwise there's no point for the upper frame and ladder.
I feel like the thicker mattresses would be better on top (if weight allows) than the thin ones. Solid carpet needs less cushioning to balance out than spaced out planks
Love it... Love the wall art... Have you ever thought about getting wall tapestries aka shower curtains with a beautiful picture of the night sky on the roof... It's easy to do any much cheaper than painting the roof or using wall stickers...
I hated when my mom did this. When my cousins came to stay, my mom would let them have my hair room and I would have to sleep on the floor with only a blanket because my cousins “deserved” my pillows. And these cousins were mean too. They would punch me and curse at even my mom, and wrestle each other in the house. Which was a strict rule.
Yeah, now her kids have to share a bed either their mum just because their aunt is staying, why can’t the kids all share a room? Or why can’t her sister find a place to stay without kicking the kids out of their room
YES! same.....this made me HATE when cousins would stay. It meant losing my bed AND my privacy....you teach your children to give their best away.....sharing their best makes everyone feel included 🤷🏾♀️
Same, I just don't understand. Your room is your safe place and then your parents kicks you OUT of the room do that you family members can sleep in it fuck no like if you don't have room for your family members in YOUR house then don't let them sleep there like seriously but if they are okay sleeping on the sofa then yea good for you but like that's unfair
I had this bed as a kid and it was beautiful because even though my brother used to sleep under we would always make a fort with my sheets and both sleep in his bed
I think they're cool with their cousins being there. Cousins they don't see every day. Y'all so whiney. It's what family who likes being together do. Y'all acting like they're moving in forever. It's a damn visit.
@@queenstinga3572 nah my dad used to let every single visitor he had over stay in my room as a kid (I was tall and had a decent sized bed by 10) and make me sleep on the floor in my sisters room, and I swear every time I would go back into my room something would be destroyed. Including my xbox 360, and my collectible figurines. And then my dad always blamed me for breaking everything, even though he saw for himself how they were broken while I wasn’t even in there. He’d say “why didn’t you tell me (X) was broken before the guests arrived? Go clean your room”. Drunk adults peed in my bed. So maybe I have more reason to be upset but if I was those kids I’d definitely not be happy
i was kicked out of my own room my whole childhood, and yk what it taught me? that it is important to be generous with guests, and sharing is generally good. also, that first night back in my own comfy bed surrounded by all my own stuff really made me appreciate my room more.
We have these beds for our kids and it makes perfect space, if little guests come over. We even had a low junior bed under one of them, when our son was a toddler, to save space in the kids room. I just wouldn't recommend using just matresses on the floor for a longer time, as they get moldy from the bottom.

Those beds are genuinely really cool. They seem stable but light weight to be able to rearrange.
They are. My son has one and I can flip it myself. Like 50 lbs tops

@@UrElinabut the ladder literally goes into no where before she flipped it

They are reversible
Who knew?? Two extra mattresses and two extra sheets and let the fun creative juices ❤begin to flow!! Memories forever!!❤😂
Ikea lists these beds as reversible. They're called the Kura beds
It's just reversible she should have put a sheet over the first one to make it a fortress kinda bed when she didnt need the bunk!
