I’m trying to practice my Hebrew as a Jew living in Australia and I was surprised that I could understand a lot of what you were saying without subtitles. Also the accents were great, my family in Israel is Russian-Israeli so the Russian accent did sound similar to them
hey Arabic speaker is here, i'm learning Hebrew and I understood all accents perfectly except for the arabic accent and the exaggerated yiddish accent haha. great job.
I read in the comments someone else thought the Arabic accent was awful haha so if you couldn't understand it it must be pretty bad! I'm leaning Arabic (very slowly). I think you must be doing better with Hebrew than I am at Arabic! I'm still at the انا جوعاد يا نون stage 🤣🤣🤣
@@happydillpickle no no, the Arabic accent was pretty good, although he did too much emphasis on the letter ayin, and although all Arabs know to pronounce this letter, many Israeli Jews don't or prefer not to because it's considered weird to speak like this, so Arabs (that Hebrew is their second language) pronounce it like how most people that it's their first language say it, like the letter alef (that is the incorrect way).
@@chnsm I think that that pronunciation of ע really stands out in native Arabic speakers and that's probably how a non Arabic speaker will deduce that it's Arabic being spoken, simply being that sound is not familiar to them from any other languages. I love the sound of Hebrew spoken with the rolled ר and Mizrahi ע. It's so fluid sounding if that makes sense. It made me laugh in the comments section of a video of the Druze singer Sharif singing Basbousa when he was a young boy. People were saying "He's singing in Arabic!". No, he was singing in Hebrew with Arabic intonation but it's easy to make the mistake if you don't understand either language.

When you were speaking in Arabic accent, it's heard like Temanim Hebrew (Yemenite) dialect. As an Indonesian it's hard for me to find a Hebrew course here.
the main ones (russian, english, french, arabic) were accurate mostly but stronger than you usually find. Yiddish was terrible in a technical sense (but funny). I would also say that Americans don't do H for all CH sounds. I would say K is an equally common mistake but also that the vast majority say CH correct and normally. I would actually say the Russians mess up CH and use H (or something close to it in Russian) much more than Americans. Very good though.
I love accent videos and try to see them all even in languages I don't know. Interested in linguistics and these give an insight about the culture as well. What was the Arabic speech BTW?
amazing video man! loved it and everything was 100% accurate lmao at the beginning you said you think there's a chance you might have a very slight accent and I could indeed tell you're not native but it's not a strong accent and someone who doesn't really pay attention to such things maybe won't even notice can't wait to see you do more videos like this! p.s. if you feel like it I think seeing your attempts at the ehtiopian, german and yemenite accents as bloopers could be really fun:)

Hilariously enough I get a bunch of comments about how I have a Russian accent when I speak Hebrew. My first language is Polish so we don't do that with the vowels at ALL, and for us is /l/ and not /ɫ/, and I use an Israeli R sound, so I don't really understand why. I definitely use /x/ though.
