We have officially completed the CR 85 HYBRID build. Let me know what you think. I believe this machine is awesome and it's going to be used to make many memories in the future.
This is so awesome. I’ve always wanted to swap a blaster for an 85 engine. It’s funny how people don’t realize the 85 has more power than the stock blaster lol. Imagine a 125 on that frame!
@@michaelpresey2273 Dyno numbers barely pass 35hp on modded blaster and cost over $1000 worth of mods and top speed only increases 10mph waste of money
A Blaster with a big bore, long rod crank, reeds, pipe/silencer and porting will make about 30hp. Silencer/pipe have been shown to make 2hp maximum. The main difference I think with the 85 and the air cooled 200 is compression. A built 85 makes 30hp with a big bore, pipe/silencer and reeds.
a cr85 would smoke a stock Blaster anyday of the week, a stock Blaster is 17hp, I just built a DT200 swapped Blaster, ported with vf4, 35pwk, dynoport pipe, with working ypvs, rm125 rads, powdercoat frame and swngarm, its fast as hell
@@juicer911 it was alot of work and money, the DT200 motor is the same as the Blaster but liquid cooled and a power valve and 32hp stock, I took it for my first ride last night, it pulls hard, and power wheelies from 1st to 3rd gear no problem, I might upload a video of it on youtube
Nice man! I have a CR85 powered pitbike (Honda XR70 China clone)! Motor is built: balanced crank, Wiseco piston, FMF fatty pipe, Pro Circuit silencer, hd clutch plates. Chassis is a custom welded frame using the front half of the CR85 frame cradle, and has all billet accessories. Its INSANE, wont keep the front wheel down until I hit 4th gear (even at half throttle). Its 30hp and 120lbs. The guy who built it was scared of it and just needed it gone haha.
I'm fixing up the same swap. 2005 CR85 onto a 2005 Blaster. It was raced in the 90 or 100 mod class. Your video was proof it works. Has the same kick-start extension you made. Glad to see a video of it working.
Isn’t that slower then a stock 200 lmao. Exhaust, intake, reeds and jetting is all a regular blaster needs to be faster. But I’ve never ridden a yz85 so I wouldn’t know.
@@gillixexik some hybrids may be the same overall speed but the lower CC number allow them to be raced in different classes. Like a Outlaw 90 and this 85 can be raced in the same class. No comparison.

I know you can make anything work, but I wonder if a blaster frame can hold up to a 125.
Was it a lot faster than the stock motor? In my research I found the stock motor makes 40 too 45 hp and the 85s making less than 20?
A stock Blaster makes nothing close to 45HP. Closer to 17HP.
@@juicer911 you can mod a blaster to make it get up to 45 though with the oversized crank, bigbore kit, porting, and oversized carb
@@michaelpresey2273 I would assume so. Just saying his above comment was referring to a stock motor. No way. Built to the top, anything will scream.

What radiator did you use
Radiator from a YFZ450
I do not want to hear myself as bad, my question is this cr85 is stronger and faster than a 200cc blaster?
I would say no. But it does make the machine lighter and liquid cooled!
Yes I agree , I think a yz125 is different or yz250 will be great 👍 , thank you for the answer 😀 boss God bless you
@@rickyfg17 that would be fun for sure!
Blaster makes 17hp an 85 makes 20
How's first gear holding up? 🤣😂
It is great to be hauling me a wound. All of that considering the machine and the motor are not really made for someone my size.

Just realized it’s a cr85 not yz lol
@@gillixexik No. I would say it is about the same speed. What you gain is liquid cooled and a massive weird reduction.

A cr85 has more horsepower than a blaster 200 so this would be faster than a stock blaster
