- Over the years, I've become more and more critical of AAA Games, but at the same time i've also become more open to Indie Games. I find Indie games incredibly creative, mostly because they can experiment more than AAA Games. In this video, I discuss the creativity of the Indie Genre & what makes Indie games so good.

Awesome video, MrEthos!🤩👌👍
Not every indie game or AA game needs a sequel, or prequel, or spin-off.
Also, if there any gamers out there that are becoming a indie game developer or be part of a indie/AA game studio, don't make a MMO rpg, or a Stardew Valley-like/cozy farming Simulator, or souls-like, or rouge-like (especially Vampire Survivors ones or bullet hell/heaven ones), or mascot horror, or open world, or metroid-vania, or walking Simulator as your first game project that you made.
Try remaking games or make a knock-off version of a game like pac man, snake, angry birds, tetris, cut the rope, or better, make a fan game of Fnaf, Sonic, or Dark Deception.
Start something small, then build your way up to improve your creativity, 2d/3d modeling, coding, and development skills.
For a while I remember wanting to make a game when I was younger but I didn't, this makes me think what if I did make a good game.
Don't think "what if"... there are great tools now that allow you to make games.
Go and make it dude. It doesn't matter how bad it is, you'll make me proud at least.
that was cool and really good but when the smash melee video?
2:28 it's not that they can afford to take risks, it's more that indies can't afford to not take risks because otherwise hardly anyone will buy the game
Good point, but I don't really think that's a concrete answer. With the launch of UE5, literally anyone can create good looking games and games that have good mechanics. Usually, it's the AAA Studios that stick to the "normal" stuff (For example: Bethesda, Ubisoft) because if they took risks they could end up losing a lot more than what Indie Devs would lose if they took risks.
But you are right in the point that Indie games almost *need* to take risks to get noticed.
Have you tried playing valheim? Its in my opinion of the best indie games out there
No, but I saw a lot of gameplay from when the hype around that game was massive.
@@MrEthos I would really recommend that you try it. It will not disappoint
