It is very impressive how a Tecno can not only go head to head with a Samsung if it's range but actually be the most preferred. Says alot about their journey.
Tecno keeps raising the bar and they are not ready to let go any time soon. The way they keep evolving to match up with the big dogs is really impressive.

Only had A55 in my market, so I only have on-hand experience with A55.
1. Build : A55 is too heavy for me one handed, and I wouldn't want to drop this on my feet. Tecno being plastic means I have less worry dropping this. Either way, both phone would need a case, one because it's slippery the other so it can survive drops better.
2. Color and Design : Easy points to Camon. Love it's white variant, and it looks unique even if the body itself has been used. A55 is as basic as it can be on both design and color, and the color choice aren't as nice. I'll pick White for Camon and blueish for A55.
3. Price : At their best spec, it's expected to be $370 for Tecno Camon 30 Pro vs $420 for Samsung A55.
4. Screen : I prefer Samsung's style. Wish I could compare the 30 Pro though. However the 30 Premiere should give better display on paper.
5. Speaker : A55 should be far more clearer and have better range than the 30 Pro. I tested 2 music video on the A55 and enjoyed the quality. As for the lack of the headphone jack I use an OTG connector with a 3.5mm jack that has a 2nd USB-C for $4. Works fine for both listening to music + charging.
6. Box : Good ol Samsung, following iPhones steps even if they once marketed a joke about iPhones box.
7. Fingerprint : Didn't test this on A55, so no comment. I do agree that the feature to use the screen even if the screen/your hands are wet is a BIG bonus.
8. Gaming : Should be easy for Camon 30 Pro to win. It's performance is far better, and Exynos has been known to be inefficient for gaming. If you're gaming on a Samsung, download your games from the Samsung store instead of PlayStore. I've experienced that games are better optimized here as a former Samsung user. Also yeah, Samsung isn't friendly to the hands even with two hands.
9. Heating : As mentioned above, Exynos is not good with optimization and this also affects temperature. As for the 8200, I've seen multiple older phone which used this and it's does get hot but what matters is that it does not throttle too much which is a HUGE plus for smooth long gaming session. Also, plastic vs metal... guess what feels hotter to hold? Physics.
10. Battery : From SmartViser, the 30 Pro last longer at 14h vs A55 at 13h. Ofc, Tecno wins with charging at 70W vs 25W (from what I've read).
11. Performance: I still love Samsung user experience. I have no experience with HiOS. Camon coming with 512GB storage is a blessing. As for the 8 vs 12, it isn't as meaningful for me. Also, I use a dongle to flash drive which is far more useful than using SD card as computers have USB slots.
12. Camera : Samsung has far more optimization thanks to spending more time on the market so they'll shoot better pics. Shame they can only do 4k 30fps. Thankfully, Tecno doesn't fall far behind and has its own semi-pocessed style
