  • Grammy Award-nominated Norwegian singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Jarle Bernhoft emphasizes this personal connection on his fourth full-length offering and first as Bernhoft & The Fashion Bruises-the aptly titled "Humanoid." Recorded as a full band, the record unlocks a soulful spirit buoyed by simmering R&B grooves and powerful pop hooks. In assembling this bold, bright, and brilliant body of work, the artist surveyed the landscape and made a conscious decision to go against the grain. Bernhoft joined BUILD to talk new music and play a few songs.

it's incredibly sad, that this interview has been out for more than a month yet there's been less than 300 views, zero comments, zero engagement.. Bernhoft is one of the greatest artist/musician of our time, balancing/creating/existing beautifully on the edge of pop and heart warming soul/motown music.. he's also incredibly eloquent and clearly an incredibly reflective/intelligent human being, full of important things to say.. oh.. wait a minute.. who are we kidding? I get it completely now, why he's not on mainstream media.. anyhow.. can't wait to see him live in Europe soon!

Brilliant musician, reflective and smart man. In more than one way he more and more reminds me on Prince.

What's funny is I wouldn't discover Bernhoft if not for an Ylvis sketch. I immediately fell in love with his music after hearing him.

I love that hes saying these things about over used tech in music..."every enhancement is an amputation" ... love the way he says his name too.I had the privilege to meat him after a show and he said his full name for me and we had a good laugh about it...hes an awesome person and musician.

Been a fan for about 3 years now. (C'mon & Talk) but love the new sound behind Falter.
Definitely got a connection to American soul music.

The irony of Bernhoft saying he can't connect to music that sounds overly processed or machine like...I love all of his live performances, but would've never listened to his music if I had been introduced to his albums first. In my opinion, a lot of the magic is lost on his album versions of songs

He is a very intelligent guy, and a great musician, but I think he misunderstands why England voted for Brexit. It's not about stopping immigration, it's about stopping open borders. Which is something else entirely.
