The production value is next level literally. They'll be massive for years to come. Check out NCT they're from also from SM but have 23 members split into different subgroups. They're as versatile as it gets musically. Some suggestions to start off:

When I first heard Next Level, I was like...I don't like it. But then, I heard it again another couple of times, and I realized my first judgement was wrong. Normally my first judgements of a song is never wrong. But, for Aespa's next level...man, that song grew on me. It doesn't follow that same formulaic music most kpop songs have. To me, SM and Big Hit artists have the best songs! They always aren't afraid to experiment with concepts and music :)

Thats the SM Phenomenon! On the first listen, you dont know how to feel because its so different. But after a couple more listens, it becomes a song you can listen to for years and years without it getting old!
I agree totally, but what really hit me the first time was their vocal range. From their previous songs I thought that Ningning was the strongest voice, but Winter proved me wrong! (they're both vocal queens!)

aespa is like a Movie through their Music. storytelling through KPOP. They have a universe that has a storyline. I would suggest using SM Culture Universe Episode 1, its a movie series from aespa telling their storylines
Production, concept and musicality wise.. SM is really at the top. Their artists are really good too! Pls also react to NCT a boygroup in SM their music is so experimental and unique asf always. And to legendary artists such as EXO, Shinee, Redvelvet and F(x).. even some of the 1st and 2nd gen artists from sm. They are all so good esp they are known for their vocals and choreo.

æspa is the highly anticipated four-girl South Korean group from SM Entertainment since Red Velvet's debut in 2014.
Members:
Karina / Yu Jimin (04.11.2000) - leader, main dancer, lead rapper, sub-vocalist, face of the group. Her symbol is the heart, and her spirit animal is the whale. She is Korean.
Giselle / Uchinaga Aeri (10.30.2000) - main rapper, sub-vocalist. Her symbol is the crescent, and her spirit animal is the unicorn. She is half Japanese and half Korean.
Winter / Kim Minjung (01.01.2001) - lead vocalist, lead dancer, visual of the group. Her symbol is a star, and her spirit animal is the Siberian husky. She is Korean.
NingNing / Ning Yi Zhuo (10.23.2002) - main vocalist, maknae of the group. Her symbol is a butterfly, and her spirit animal is a tiger. She is Chinese.
The name "æspa" comes from "æ" - abbreviations of the words "avatar X experience", as well as from "spa", which means "aspect", implying the duality of the concept. The whole name together can be interpreted as "The opportunity to experience a new world through your avatar - a virtual version of you."
Terminology (all information in details, which is only known at the moment):
1) "æ" - alter ego with its own personality, formed on the basis of the data that we publish in everyday life. These are separate organisms that have artificial intelligence that allows them to communicate with real people, support them, make friends with them, help, exchange information, and also move from one world to another. (Also, this term can be used as a prefix to the name to indicate a specific avatar. For example, there is a real group member Karina, and there is a virtual group member æ-Karina).
Once in different parts of the city, unidentified shimmering wormholes (portals) appeared, which almost immediately disappeared. A heated debate erupted around the results of the investigation of this incident. The real world is rapidly filled with digital entities calling themselves "æ", whose appearance is about to commemorate the beginning of a new era of coexistence with them. Their number continues to grow exponentially, and they become part of our life.
æ take shape in our likeness, but in doing so they also have their own unique traits. æ are "we" and not "we" at the same time. Some people unable to recognize their avatars because they can differ greatly from them in appearance, demeanor, worldview, temper, etc. This is due to the fact that the data that we post on the Internet does not match reality. Many to varying degrees often resort to using various photo editors, pretend to be a different personality, thereby creating a certain image for themselves, which is an improved version of ourselves in all respects. Based on this, æ are a living display of our images in digital reality. But even if people post something that is different from their real selves, the avatars will still get a piece directly from their selves.
2) "Synk" - the signal connection through which people and æ communicate with each other (works like a messenger). As the interaction deepens and lasts, Synk develops into "Rekall".
3) "Rekall" - process by which an avatar appears in the real world for a limited period, as well as the time that a person spends with his æ.
4) "P.O.S" (Port Of Soul) - this is the portal through which æ pass to enter the real world.
5) "Nævis" - a guide system that keeps order in the digital universe and connects æ and people. She can inform avatars about their "other selves", help them get into and stay in the real world for some time and also open portals to different worlds/dimensions, showing the way to a certain destination.
6) "Unconscious" - the world of the subconscious, made of filtered events and emotions, which are factors related only to "I" in the conscious world. It constantly continues to expand from the depths of the sea, going beyond infinity and generating a wave - "Kwangya".
7) "Ether" - the sea of subconsciousness. A limitless environment capable of uniting dimensions, people, emotions.
8) "Kwangya" - a separate independent of reality virtual world, in which the æ are located. Is an unexplored, boundless and eternally expanding, unbridled length without forms and rules. In Korean, the word "Kwangya" means "wilderness".
9) "Flat" - the place where æ live, outside which is "Kwangya". If understood in the literal sense of the word, it kind of hints at the fact that Flat is only a part of this world.
10) "Black mamba" (the 2nd longest poisonous snake and one of the fastest in the world. In the æspa universe, this is a character antagonist who can change shape to look like an avatar) - a virus that infiltrated Kwangya and blocked Synk, causing the "Synkout" phenomenon to break out. The forced shutdown of æ occurred simultaneously throughout the city, which caused a flurry of panic among citizens. æspa and their æ decide to go to Kwangya, to find and defeat the villainess and reconnect with each other.
11) "My" - in Kwangya language means "best friend" (is the name of æspa's fandom)
12) "Nu evo" - ?
13) "Kosmo" - ?
SM Entertainment plans:
Lee Soo Man (founder and former director of SM), gave a talk about the future of entertainment industry at the "2020 World Cultural Industry forum" said that æspa (an innovative group that will go beyond the boundaries of the real and virtual worlds and become the personification of the unification of culture and technology) is their first project in the implementation of SMCU (SM Culture Universe) - a shared universe for their current and future artists. At the online "SM Congress 2021" Lee Soo Man revealed that when he thought about how to showcase SMCU, a new genre was created called "CAWMAN", which is an acronym for Cartoon, Animation, Webtoon, Motion graphics, Avatar and Novel. During the end credits of the cinematic video "æspa ep 1. Black mamba - SM Culture Universe" the phrase "Powered by CAWMAN" can be noticed.
Lee Soo Man has been looking forward to the group æspa and thinking about its concept since 2015. He personally became the head of the most important production processes - from the creation of the music and the idea of the group, to the planning of its external image. Avatars will be promoted in the same way as the members, while having a revolutionary identity. SM's worldview is no longer limited to one group. SMCU will express all artists and their music through narrative content, and the company is set to include EXO, Red Velvet, NCT, and other. There are already numerous hints of their shared universe. In addition, Lee Soo Man revealed that discussions are underway with Hollywood producers to co-create full-length films about SMCU.
The main value of the future k-pop industry that producer Lee Soo Man is pursuing is that "The entertainment of the future will become the world of celebrities and robots, and robots will start with avatars". (He also emphasized that the new girl group SM æspa has already started showing glimpses of this future world). Therefore, SM Entertainment has partnered with Korea's Advanced Institute of Science and Technology KAIST through the signing of a "Memorandum of Understanding" (MOU) for joint projects in areas such as entertainment content, artificial intelligence and robots, including cultural technology.

My take of the song is that it shows the 2 different world where the members of aespa crossing in and out of. Reality and along with their alter egos…love this experimentation. It’s new and innovative, keeps you interested. Different from your common predictive elements in music.
