- Can I get 1/2 mile into a cave using only primitive equipment???
#fire #survival #challenge
This is a primitive challenge to get half-mile deep into a cave to collect clay for pottery, using only primitive tools. In this video you'll see: Primitive Caving, Primitive torches, Chaga Fire, Hand drill, Willow Packbaskets, Clay Pottery, Acorn Processing into Flour, Survival Cement, Acorn Bread.
I'll add a link for the pack-basket making soon. If interested, this other basket making video is similar but does not go into French Randing, Three-Rod waling

This guy’s the best. Hands down. Donate to him - he gives so much amazing, free info.
I’ve said the same before. Best dude on yt!

The goat, no doubt
Came here from your "Survival Guide" for 7 vs Wild Behind the scenes.
Its absoluty crazy to see a proffesional like you doing the important things in such a small amount of time and efficiency.
this guy doesn't upload anymore i don't know what happened
@@kuiyez8723 He promoted his channel in 7 vs Wild so he still has the channel in his my mind.
Me too 🙂👍 🇩🇪
@@darian2109 alright thanks
This dude makes all other bushcrafters/survivalists look like cub scouts playing "camping" in their blanket forts.
Blanket forts. Classic.
@davearonow You mean Bear Grylls? 😜😆
Yes he does. Guys making Walmart survival shelters and such. Lol.
He's also just playing. He has all the modern camera, batteries and backup gear. He'd never do this on a few pinecones without backup gear. It doesn't mean they all don't have the same skills.
@krisvq I don't know what your point is? Of course he has all that gear, he's making a video. As far as never doing it without that gear, this level of survival knowledge applied, is not something you read in a book or from watching videos. He can do all this stuff and knows all this stuff because he lived it and practiced it ad nauseum. I guarantee you he can, he would, he has, and he does do all this without the gear, or "backup gear" you mentioned. Not once, not twice, but over and over again. This dude has serious buschcrafting skills and they were gained by being out there doing it.
People: I buy clay.
Tom: I make pine torches to dig clay half a mile into a cave.
He’s back! Yes!!
YAY!!
Imagine how paranoid youd be if you found no pinecones on the way out.
😂
😂😂😂
Oh. My. God. 😂 You must watch too many scary movies.
@@ballsmanjoe699 Im just frightened by many things and have quite the imagination :)
I'd be shitting pinecones.
I’d love to see you totally own a season of Alone, like a boss. Another great vid!
I'm sure a lot of time was used to hike ahead, set up the camera, go back and come back. A lot of work, but the result is amazing.
Was für ein großartiger Kerl!!!
7 in the wilds
holy smoking pine cones, i thought this channels was dead XD
Dude, after subscribing awhile back, boy did I lose hope that you were ever going to make another video again!!! Total shocker and pleasant surprise!!! Update on life and videos in future please?

👑
Came from 7vsWild, very sympathetic guy :)
Nice Video on the Channel from Dave 👍🏼
I learn more from just one of your videos than entire seasons of Commercially Produced shows...lol
thanks frank
This guy is really good at this. Very informative, imaginative and enjoyable. thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
I think doing history is one of the best ways to experience it. It isn't hard to imagine that this is something that our ancestors did at all, and doing it the way they would have is even cooler. It details out the efforts and thoughts they had. Puts you in their shoes rather than reading about it on paper.
7 in the wildz !
Bro you make a great Work !
Nature is awesome!
7 vs. Wild 🖤
7 vs wild 🔥🔥🔥
This is incredible! Well done Tom. I love how you put together this video.
`
If this were me, Pine cones go out!
ME: "There must be limited oxygen in cave, I must get out"
RUN hysterically into wall of cave in pitch blackness.
Never heard from again
New content from YOU?! Dude you're the man and I'm a big fan of your survival stuff. Thanks for making more!!
I literally watched your desert survival like 2 days ago and you just upload, this is a real treat.
Richtig Geil!!
We need more Videos!
Er wird so den 7vswild Boost bekommen 😂
You are the one that saved me in the woods
I had no stuff but thanks to you I am safe in a nice home being rescued by a helicopter 🚁
for real?? What did you do to survive?
I built shelter
I used fish and plants for food for about 4 days until luckily a rescue team saved me
Wow does this sound like a story worth telling.. Matt do you care to elaborate?
It was a very scary time but after the 3 days it was a bit better but still scary
Awesome Adventure Tom!
Fancy seeing you here! 🗡👍🏻
Leaving a comment to maximize algorithm viewership. Feel free to do the same.
Sure
Will gladly do that
No
Sounds good
Thanks Wolfgang, that's nice of you. It's super helpful too if you share the link with friends. Thanks again. t
When the world needed him most he returned
That pine sap smoke in that cave gave you the Western Oregon Experience hahaha xD
BROOOOO it's been too long, hard to survive without your videos!
Wow amazing video, glad that I found you! :) Greetings from 7 vs wild community
The way you manage to control your breathing, your stress and anxiety is beyond me! Your content definitely helped me!
I don't know why I like doing this stuff; but I do. Yup! Well done.
I've practiced survival and bushcraft for 30 years. Have NEVER met anyone with your skills. Seriously man, you are an absolute vessel of survival skills for people an just having fun outdoors with your abilities. With absolutely nothing for tools and equipment. It's refreshing to say the least.
Glad your back Tom...i hope you let people know where your at when you do something like this..dont want to lose you.
I think we all love this man and can’t wait to see that acorn bread
7vsWild ❤
This was insane! My palms were sweaty the whole time you were in the cave. You're a brave dude!
Knees weak, arms are heavy
@@thesixstringshooter there's resin on his pinecones already
This is real life minecraft, man. Stackin' up on torches before going caving for resources!
Tom you should make more survival videos like one of your Island, forest and desert ones. I keep watching them over and over again
Nothing better than seeing Tom upload another survival vid, love the content!
Incredible, he left the camera behind so he can film himself getting out, then when he got really far he came back to get it and made alot of trips back and forward, alot of work was put in this video, the editing is cutting perfectly hope you all the best dude.
I think in history if a large enough resource was found in a place like that it would have been a team operation with piles of torches staged throughout the cave and multiple people to hold/carry materials. Also a rescue person on the outside to go in if they didn't come out because of loss of light. Although I'm sure some people have done it this way.
Very courageous to go in there alone. You connected to a universal human experience that you share with people who lived millennia ago
As I was getting tired of always seeing fake and bootleg primitive technology videos, I came to your channel and I'm happy you're still making these amazing videos.
I’m here from 7vswild
Anyone else?
hahahahaha in my balcony garden there was a large flower blooming and i had no idea what it was. and then, THERE IT IS!!!! so its a good handdrill xD
Hands down best survivalist on CZcams.
This upload is about the most unexpected yet pleasant surprise all year
It’s always a great day when I see a video from this guy. This is what Man Vs. Wild should have been!
imagine he had to go some parts twice for setting up the camera. :O
This gave me a flashback to a time I was in a cave alone, just enjoying the dead silence in the dark. I was in such a peaceful relaxed state, then out of nowhere I had this feeling wash over me as if something was coming for me, and coming for me fast and to run. I ran out of there so fast that I didn't duck low and quick enough at the mouth and hit my back on the lip of the cave, tearing my shirt and peeling my back open.
😂
I like the idea of making the best possible tools and food with limited resources, shows some excellent craftmanship!
This guy is a professional. He knows exactly what he’s doing and never cheats his way through. These so called bushcraft survivalists should take notes
Holy cow- This guy is freaking unreal!!! That basket is awesome.
Just watched a Video from 8 Years before. This Guy just didn't aged a Day.
Balls of steel. I hope you had legit backups like flashlights just in case. My goodness.
Imagine going back and forth to set up the camera love this channel
Im surprised you managed to squeeze through those crevices with such gigantic balls. Man, you are a legend.
That was fantastic. I can't wait to see the rest.
Next time, maybe bring a flashlight, just in case things REALLY go south.
Tom McElroy, where are your videos . Did something happen to you. Your videos are golden gems that I keep going back to!
I have NEVER seen a more powerful, knowledgeable, generous, creative survival teacher in my life. Thank you Tom!!! 🙏
if your primitive/survival/craft skills are as good as your hunting skills- time to sign up for the next ALONE series.
Im working on an all primitive bow hunt video right now....fingers crossed
You can't imagine how surprised and excited I was to see this video pop up in my feed!!
"This came out of kind of boring"... You're a magician with this stuff. I marvel at your skill and am happy to see you post videos again!
Thank you!
Wow youre so brave for doing this
I ABSOLUTELY love this video it reminds me of a German series on CZcams called 7 vs wild where 7 people are stranded on an island and have to survive. Keep doing these videos they’re awesome
Du weißt schon dass Tom McElroy bei 7vsWild im Hintergrund mitgewirkt hat?
I’m very late, but boy am I glad I discovered this guys channel, your a legend
Certainly the best survivalist out there and humble too.
the part when you were in the water gave me the chills, just imagine like seeing a hand or something
Absolute mad lad he’s gotta be the best survival dude I’ve seen
thanks for the show; I had forgotten about the Chaga over the years..glad you're back.
I love your videos, they are the best survival videos on the internet imo. Very grateful for such awesome content!
Just the right timing! Love the content
thank you for sharing , there is alot to learn from you
When I was a kid, me and my friends used to explore the caves where I lived for hours and hours all day. We used flashlights and flares. Those caves ran for miles. Recently, I had a job where the office I worked in was in a cave 300 feet under ground. It was more or less a business park under ground in caves. I think about 3,000 people work there.
what type of cia shit u work with hahaha
Do you work for umbrella?
Say after me, "Cheyenne Mountain."
Tom is so under rated
Idea for some videos you could make!!
•surviving in a rocky landscape
•Bushcraft skills
•how to prepare animals to eat
And lastly have a great day and enjoy life to the full. That goes all you wonderful strangers too!!!!😀😁
Thank YOU Tom for your inspirations and the amazing good videos! All good medicine.
Tom, so happy to see you back here, I've often rewatched your videos, so enjoyable!
thanks Kevin
Love the videos man, cant wait for part two!
You are the best Tom. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us in all their thoroughness, creativity, rawness and wild aliveness.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS AHHHH! I cant wait to watch this over and over again!
Glad you're still doing these!
OMG YESS!! I KNEW YOU'D BE BACK!!!
AWESOME! Can't wait for part 2.
These kind of videos could be useful for me when reenacting historical events!
Bear Grylls without the dramatics. Great content Sir.
Thank you for sharing this!
Beside your vast knowledge I like maybe most that you are such a nice, thoughtful man. No hard man bragging.
I was so relieved when i saw you had shoes on for the cave trip. Great video man you got some big balls !
Wow! Just discovered this and I totally love all the really basic info he gives!
Yesss!!!
Glad to see you back!
