Successful Solo Eggplant Run - Gaming in the Margin

Without the Robot, but without the pressure of trying to do it first. The full run is also up ( • Solo Eggplant Run [Ful... ). This is just the part of the run that gets interesting.
Having done this I'd have to say getting the shield to hell would be harder.
Unfortunately, this run was performed while a seed mod was running in the background, so it is legitimate or it isn't. It's just nice to have done it.

So i put up my volume way high to hear the game, then somebody sent me a Message over Steam. I think i'm deaf now.

I had to crank up my volume to 100 for this video, what's up with that?

Then that’s some extremely good headset you got there cause my phone speakers play things quite loud, and I still have to put it over half volume.

Everything was done until someone discovered hell. Then everything was done until someone discovered the eggplant's purpose. There's always something exciting to discover.

i dont think it unlocks anything but at least it oneshots the final boss!

Can you upload the whole run please, cause this is pretty unreliable proof, when you just start from the ice caves with a hired help in your hands on a level that gives you an eggplant. If you really did it legit, then congrats, but I'm going to be skeptic about the legitimacy of this run until you upload the whole video.
Also, where the hell did hired help go at 6:50, it definetely seemed like he died.
+DrDrillinator Yeah, no idea what happened with the HH there because he wasn't in a same spot and definitely killed himself. Yet he miraculously appears in the tunnel? This whole run is a cheat and it's shameful how this user is trying to claim it as legitimate.

I'm pretty suspect of this run's veracity, it's my understanding that visiting the black market causes random shops to stop spawning, which you obviously would have had to do to get the ankh.
The black market does not affect shop generation in later levels.
Ankh?
The ankh is an item you can buy from the black market for $50000. It will revive you with 4 hp when you die. When you die in the level with the Moai head with the ankh it will respawn you inside the moai head and give you a required item to enter the city of gold

I think it is a little cheesy if you get the eggplant in ice caves I mean it doesnt have anything special about it when u get it in ice caves

@@thebigblackmenlegacy but it still counts, the developers didn't say anything about it being a "special challlenge that you have to do from the start of the game" thats the beauty of spelunky, you can do stuff in a lot of different ways

He means using the robot ai spelunker. Because if you've unlocked the robot, you have to clear your save data so can 'rescue' him and have him hold the sceptre so you can get to the city of gold, so it's kind of an exploit. Whereas this guy has used a hired hand, which is harder and doesn't require you to delete your save data.
+Falkus Moin o/ Although this is one of the least legitimate because it was practiced using a seed editor. Check out Buddy7heElf's or Krille's eggplant run. They both completed theirs without using the Robot unlock.

Jgoelkel Safety. That thing can get squished in a thousand different ways, so you should never carry it blindly into a potentially dangerous situation.
