"... the most beautiful thing this side of Heaven."
I'm convinced the Theresienmesse is Haydn's finest Mass, so many exquisitely beautiful passages. And it's certainly not easy; the musicians did a splendid job. Curious, though, that there weren't more string players to be found in Philadelphia!
Beautiful cathedral in Philadelphia I've been there before
Deo gratias!
I never heard of KCHS congregation. Can anyone tells me about it?
Missal brought to the altar open?
I believe at a Solemn or High Mass that's normally the practice. At our parish, it's only the Low Mass in which the missal is left closed! :D Hope that helps.
Are you asking about the Missal being open at the start of Mass? That is the rubrics for high Mass.
In the solemn and high mass, the missal should be open at the start of the mass
Is this novus ordo mass?
No, it's the Traditional Latin Mass.
@@SRose-kg2kk during prefatio the response is a bit loud so i thought they came from audiences
oh how horrible
I thought that men and women are equal for God
Who told them to put something on their heads
this is not 21th century!!This is dull and not inspiring
This is just for the priest and not for the people
Only the music is fantastic thats all
This is just a ritual just performance.
If that man is home at Jerusalem let him attend the byzantine tradition
Thats spirituality pure
You are probably suprised by catholic mantila that cover heads of some women. However, isn't something like disrespect to women at all and quite the opposite of what you think. It is big honour and privilege for women from the Church because with vail is usually covered something/someone very precious like e.g. Holy Sacrament or calix before Holy Sacrifice. On the other hand It also means that ,,Now, I am exclusively concentrated only on you, my Lord". You can see it when Jews are praying as well. Another example is solideo of bishops (50 years ago also typical for priest - black solideo) present on their heads not only during liturgy. It means the same. And it is very practical for purpose of concentration also during private prayer as I know from speach of some women because It is other outer sigh of their prayer that is still again and again reminding ,,I am presence of Lord".
@@maroslaho9723 I see what yr saying. The difference in Judaism is that everyone has a head-cover signalling that God is above all of us.
And what yr are saying means also that men need to cover there heads. Why does a woman need it and a man not. That makes no sense.
Antonius when I was a child my Mother, grandmother , aunties covered their head with the mantillas and my older sisters covered their head wearing a small white skullcap .
@@derbywinner6316 yeah thats the old fashioned way and that was in times when one supposed women were less than man.
