9:40 no 6 literally took my breath away, how I dream I could compose something nearly as beautiful
Etude no. 6 is probably my favorite out of them. A shame it's so short. So beautiful and peaceful. I can't stop but imagine Scriabin sitting behind the piano, playing somewhere outside during the summer day.

What you have to bear in mind about Scriabin is that everything he wrote was wonderful.
👍👍👍❤❤❤
his 12th etude is probably the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard in my life.
I thought this all my life as well!
Unfortunately the pianist here does not play some of the correct notes in the left hand, most notably the high D-sharps (with 5 ledger lines) which are played as B's.
@@sinfonie291 Some of us like that.
@@sinfonie291 well it was scriabin favourite afterall if not way would he only record this one.
No, I don't think so. 7th is more beautiful for me.
They are all hauntingly beautiful...but the second is sooo good yet underrated, I dont see people praise it enough!
Scriabin was truly a musical genius who unfortunately died way too young and with so much musically left to say
well as his fellow colleague rachmaninoff said "music is enough for a lifetime, but a lifetime is not enough for music"
Maybe he is good composer, but he doesn't a good person, ha sad that only I can be a composer, and he was hated My favourite composer, (Sergei Rachmaninoff)
like most of the legends of classical music... chopin died aged 39
@cranglepiano Just that immense week-long synaesthetic masterpiece that was going to bring about universal transcendence, that he was working on when he died.
@@user-zr2sz8fd6o Scriabin and Rachmaninoff went to school together and were good friends privately. The rivalry between their respective admirers was fabricated and encouraged by their publisher Koussevitsky to increase both composers' publicity.
My first childhood piano crash...obsession... favorite all through the career .... deepest connection... Scriabin is a sui generis figure in the history of piano music and one of its greatest talents at all ...
Omg that n.4 is probably one of the best pieces I have ever heard.
Once I played No. 1, 4, 5, and 12. The other pieces were too difficult for me. I found this video today and now I' m surprised how beautiful these pieces are. I wish I could play them like him!
Her.
I’ve only learned No.2 and 12. I want to learn 3 next, as insane as it is, and one day complete Op.8 :)
Is 12 really one of the easier in the set?
@@lunar.6091 it is
@@jakehouston3377 3 is tough. But probably one of my favourites. The sad part is that it is only 2 minutes long but requires the same amount effort that you use to learn a movement of a Beethoven sonata…
I like how scriabin often uses intervals larger than a 10th even though he was known for having small hands
Невероятное исполнение. Очень многие детали замечены в точку.
Playing no. 5 at 0.75x speed gives it a completely different character...so beautiful.
He kinds of rushes it aswell, I mean for semplice he sure makes it very complicated.

No. 6 hauntingly beautiful
I would like to play this one in future...
the Rh is incredibly tough
such exquisite polyrhythms under the sweet melody!
me too
I gasped when I heard it, i didnt think music could be that beautiful
No.3 is soo fast and lively, incredible!
Op.8 complete, was part of my master recital. Great music...
This woman has the most musical unobvious way with this music . Her style here tells us something true and real about Scriabin . One wonders why it hasn't been guessed at before . An old world of perfumes and gardens but it is not the salon world of shallow depths we've experienced before it is true and each phrase is full of life and Nature . She puts a healthiness in Scriabin we never hear and it suits an opus 8 youthful work from a boy who still feels life full of promise !
Michele Gurdal's recordings of these etudes these are such a treat. Perfect coloration, sensitive, very musical rubato. I wish she'd record more Scriabin
no. 8 is like a bittersweet memory of a perfect summer day from childhood.
among op.8 there are some of the most underrated pieces of all times of all worlds. Etude n. 3, 4, 5, 6 almost never performed while they are real gems...what a shame.
Life is about joy and sadness, but especially pain when you are realist…
I live for the Melody at 4:19
yes!!!
If you like this section, i send you to Scriabin's Piano Concerto

No. 4 is so rejuvenating holy crap
In modo bello di iniziare la giornata, ascoltare questa Musica.
Buongiorno Mondo ❤
Pace e Amore ❤
Grazie ❤
Superb performance. I think that Michelle is hardly the only pianist who, following Vladimir Sofronitsky and Garrick Olson, so subtly feels Scriabin's style.
The left hand of #7 looks brutal
I really like Gurdal. The final etude evinced so much passion, desperation, insistence. Riveting. I had to stop doing what I was doing.
25:39 Chopin prelude 16
no.10 though. That looks so ferociously difficult.
Chopins thirds etude looks like a walk in the park compared to that xD
@@AnoNym-fz9me It's not actually harder. The score looks worse but try playing them both and you'll see, it's just that it's slower than Chopin's. There's only a few of scriabin's etudes that are much harder than that op 25 no 6. Op. 42 no 5 is the hardest of all scriabins etude by far.
Were it twice as fast, maybe.
5 against 6 looks horrible no matter the tempo.
@@8beef4u Op. 42 No. 5? I doubt that's the hardest, it's easier than many others he wrote.
4, 5, 6 & 12 are easily my favourites.
His piano concerto has one of the most beautiful adagios. These studios are great with a lot of influence of Chopin and Liszt.
I agree with you.
Отличное исполнение одних из лучших этюдов.
I'm working on etude 1 and I love your poetic approch and the tempo rubato.
What a pianist!!!
No.12 easily becomes my favourite
Послушайте его в исполнении Алексея Султанова, не пожалеете.
That pianist is AMAZING!
All over the place
I love it !
I've known of Scriabin since childhood, but only really listened to him now. Wow. And man that looks difficult lol. Would people say this is more or less difficult than Chopin etudes?
Edit: each etude I listen to, I keep thinking this is my favourite one. then the next one comes up and its my new favourite one. how have i been living without this music in my life for so long :(
Edit 2: how do people even play this.....??? like it literally looks impossible
Edit 3: i keep thinking it can't get harder to play. and it just does....
Edit 4: I KNOW NO. 12!! AND i didnt know it was part of this miraculous set of music. what a hell of a way to end this series. amazing.
More difficult than Chopin etudes
It depends what chopin etudes, some Scriabin etudes are easier than some chopin etudes, but mostly Scriabins etudes are harder than Chopins
I can say, all of his Études are beautiful, including his 5th one.
why say "including his 5th one"?
@@sneddypie yea why lol
@@sneddypie probably meant “especially”
I believe they meant to say, "especially his 5th one".
You could think that no. 12 is the most brilliant of this set, but.. you understand some time later that no.11 is the most one

12 прекрасно играл Алексей Султанов.
A great ‘satche, lost too early, but legendary, and not soon forgotten.

Fantastic etudes!! I especially like No. 12 in D sharp minor!!
your words are well said and beautiful

どこか後期のショパンの香りがして好きです。
My god, These etudes are so emotional.
Best etudes.

No 12, and No 5. Genuis
Nr 4 is completely devine
Wow no 3 is insane

Why haven‘t I ever heard of this guy in my 16 years of practicing piano?
welcome to the wonderful, psychotic world of Scriabin!
4, 5,7, 9😍
Eita!
no 6 is so hard to play gave me nighmares.
Easy , easy ... kkkkkkkkkkkkk ... Scriabin genius !
2. 5. 6.❤❤❤
Expansive music...free form, somewhat classical jazz.
Im so happy i can just sight read these. Otherwise I can't see the point in trying play them because they're weird little tunes most of them.
2 - 1:46
5 - 7:29
11 - 23:36
12 - 27:45
Who interpreted these?
n7 is similar to chopin's op25 n4
I love this pieces and I love Scriabin, but at times I felt like the pedal was too heavy.
Can anyone recommend me a version that sounds lighter?
I like Sofronitsky
I recommend ashkenargy version!
Viktor Merzhanov is great
Actually holding pedal for longer than necessary was kind of intended by Scriabin himself. All of the harmony muddles together and creates a rich dissonant sound, in some places
I could hear Rach's Op. 36 in n. 11

Is this channel only playing early Scriabin, the tonal one?
Its still the best. I like his atonal stuff but the earlier works are genius too and way more listenable
@@handznetscriabin is not atonal
Apart from obvious 12 I love the 5 - sadly here it is bit too fast for my liking
8:06
N.5 almost sounds like dvorak
Can someone please tell me, his sixth etude is actually similar or to a piece by someone, not sure who. not Chopin and if it were, probably version by Godowsky. Or is it only just my imagination.
Maybe Chopin Op.25 No.8 in D-flat major?
@@eingooglenutzer1474 YES!! just realised it. thanks. sorry for answering it so late haha. Just got back to this etude album again after not sure how long.
28:23 this passage is beautiful
Indeed
Who’s etudes are better? Chopins, Lizsts or Scriabin’s
@Felis Skalkotris Sorabjitus ok
All of them are equally amazing
No need to reply to your quesiton. The answer is not even IN the quesiton.
The quesiton IS the answer.
See 2 other self-contained Q&A:
-In the RGB color scheme, which color is the most beautiful?
- Which picture of the 3 composers do you find the most handsome?
To handle quesiotn #1, if you like impressionist paintings, which is by the way also what the 3 composers all are - in the musical sense -, I bet you will say all 3, because these are the fundamentals that bring (white) light, i.e. a sense of color and the depth of music in your brain and emotions.
Musical emotions are triggered manifestations of happiness. They mean an internal rebound following a brain shock of an external pack of sounds inside us. Depending on our current state of mind, we carve an internal echo chamber that reverberate differently the music inside of us. An this echo chamber is almost an artistic biometric feature. It segregates people, not as unique ndividuals, but in "packs" of lyrics freaks, jazz fans, opera afficionados, etc.
For me, my taste evolved from the first to the thirs over the years. I played all 3 (not as a professional), but as madly in love individual who can, almost at will, rebuild himeslef by listening, time after time, to these giants musicians unique deliveries.
No reason to choose. Love is not a selection. It is a present.
ps: look at Godowski's Etudes transcribed from Chopîn.
Then pick up Scriabin Etude Op 42 n° 5.

10 in Dbmajor is the hardest within the set, isn't it??

The Chopin influence is so obvious, yet at the same time this music is so far apart in spirit from Chopin's.
