George Lopez There’s that, but Tom also admitted he hates being on a major record label. Seems like he just got sick of the whole thing. The main issue it seems is that he just sucks at honestly communicating with his bandmates. The AVA guys have also mentioned in the past that he can be hard to work with sometimes.

Toypaj had those amazing bridges (Everytime i look for you, shut up, please take me home) that were just magic. I still love those songs the most.

that's it, drums are the foundation. people who are in a band, just get a beat and have everything come together. it aint that hard. if you have creativity and a good group then you'll make it.
Not really man. I’d say for 90% of songs, it’s the guitarists or singers who sit and write it acoustically or on piano and build a melody for the verse / chorus and it’s chord progressions. Then you play it with the band, the drummer has to play something in your progressions BPM and he gets to be creative within that. Leads accent and don’t interrupt the vocals. A drum beat can inspire a part that forms into a song though.

It’s so funny to me because Travis records first with no music. That to me is just awesome. A guy from the aquabats became their greatest accomplishment lol. Let’s be honest. Without Travis later down the road the band would have stalled. Even with the awesome writing and rifts. But Tom I think is the most creative one in the band. Just my opinion

Y'all kind of have the right idea! In the studio when it's tracked like this, we play to what is called a "click track". It's a map of the tempo of a song which is represented by a metronome type sound in your headphones, and you play to it in much the same way. I hope that makes sense.

I think its difficult to sing for Mark live, like online songs. Shut up and online songs are studio songs.
bored to death is really hard to sing for mark, pretty much every song on california are studio songs
i know this comment is kinda old but i think that mark kinda explained this back in 2011 and it hasnt really changed since then..he said that they usually play on average for 70-90 minutes...and during the set, they would play as a priority most of the singles (mainly cause its the song that most blink fans know, from casual fans to hardcore ones) and in between, they would choose a few album cuts. Songs like violence, wendy clear, dumpweed, dysentary gary, cynical and songs like that...usually the album cuts they choose are from enema and self titled and those are kinda frequent on average blink sets, but still, i wish they would change those every now and then to have more interesting shows.
You can see that recording in a studio isn't that easy

Mark recording that "I think it's time that I should leave" was the very first thing i heard from Toypaj. and i remember distinctly not being impressed. i was sort of baffled. i'd never looked forward to an album before. it was a very surreal, strange experience.
OMG I remember going to their website everyday and refreshing constantly to get these little clips from Cheetah (? Or whoever their videographer was) and just playing them over and over then hopping on the landline to discuss them with my best friend and fellow Blink lover.
Yep, Cheetah videos were awesome source of information about guys life and full of fun.

my least favorite Blink-182 album by far.*
it just wasn't there. they were coasting. for me this was the first album i _actually anticipated._ i got into music really late. Blink-182 were my first favorite band.
and i remember TRYING to love TOYPAJ, but it just wasn't there. the songs weren't as half as good as _Enema of the State._ or the next album, for that matter.
one of the weirdest parts of that album is how the EXTRA tracks are a lot better than a lot of the actual album tracks - _What Went Wrong_ and _Time to Break Up_ are about 13,000,007 times better than stuff like _Rollercoaster_ or especially _Online Songs._
*EDIT: i had to amend this RIGHT after i posted it - this is my least favorite Blink-182 album - by far - of the ACTUAL Blink-182. i'm not including Blink-18New or Blinkaline Trio on here.
if i were, that new _Nine_ album of theirs would absolutely be the lowest.
