    it reminds me of my old days... when i was a child and my parents were young, the moments that nothing was impossible. i am still young but my parents are getting old. i am afraid that my happiness would be vanishing one day... her performance brings me such complicated feelings. so beautiful though.

    Валя здорово! Первый раз соната 12 не показалась мне скушной. 20 минут счастья! Нарратив сонаты передан в полной цельности по всей протяжённости сонаты. В marcia funebre sulla morte у Бетховена, мне раньше казалось, слишком затянута трагическая тема, а трагизм казался театральным - ну ведь 31 года композитору - можно понять. Но в Вашем исполнении молодой композитор сам входит в поток Вашего исполнения, присутствует в нём своей молодостью и своим будущим, которое слушатель уже знает. Некоторая, как теперь понимаю, кажущаяся наивность молодого Бетховена у Вас превращается в свою противоположность, в мощную мудрость, в непреклонную эволюцию созидания. Валя, СПАСИБО!!!

    Chopin was said to have admired this Sonata and listening to this performance it is not difficult to hear why. Aristocratic poise, elegance and poetry, not to mention the Marcia Funebre and the rippling light brilliance of the finale. Remember, Chopin was not given to dishing out praise to composers other than Bach and Mozart. Thank you Valentina.

      he for sure admire beethoven work, altough sometimes he find it vulgar or out of place, certain works of his like the sonata 14, 29,32 and the 7th and 9th symphonies he had great respect for it

      @@andrewgrebenisan6141 I hear that he admire the complexity and taught it to his best students, still not sure because i heard it somewhere, but im sure he love the 32 and he considered the patetique 1st movement vulgar, out of place and exagerated in some parts.

      @@davidpardo7878 Hm, that is quite interesting! I only recently discovered that Chopin said harsh words about Beethoven's music, even though I always thought he was an admirer because of all of the musical quotations!

      @@andrewgrebenisan6141 The best that we can surmise about Chopin's reactions to contemporary and recent composers of his day is that he was largely indifferent to them. We know that he was openly enthusiastic about Bach and Mozart from contemporaries and pupils. Schubert passed him by; Schumann dedicated 'Kreisleriana' to him and he apparently never bothered to open the score let alone play it.

    Superb. First 3 listenings of this piece ever over the last week. I hear foreshadowing of chords and progressions to come from him and others. Beautifully brought to sound in this performance.

    I remember when my piano teacher played this sonata a couple years ago. Awesome interpretation of this sonata.
    One more sonata to see the new version of "Moonlight". I want to hear it

    C’est à la fois très personnel et somptueux !! Comme toujours avec Valentina ! 🎹 Une pâte sonore très riche basée sur la clarté, la profondeur et l’articulation du discours. Une main gauche extraordinaire, l’attaque des basses est très réussie dans les variations. J’espère que l’on aura très prochainement la possibilité de l’écouter au disque dans le 32 sonates de Beethoven 🎼 qu’elle joue et maîtrise à merveille !! 👌

    I just listened to this sonata performed by another renowned pianist who used a much lighter touch like you would playing Bach preludes and fugues. As expected, I am pleased that you perform this with more expressiveness and variety of playing into the keys. It's perfect and thank you!

    Really like the first movement especially. After listening to it so many times it was getting a bit boring but your version sounds "fresher" somehow.

    I think this piece was the very bridge to romanticism.... very beautiful and so heavenly... and if you read about Beethoven.. you’d get a close understanding as to where this tunes were coming from... and thank you ms valentina .. such a heavenly sound

    Valentina. Love you and your interpretations. But you missed it on the allegro. I think you are into Vivace and just not leaving time to absorb the movement.

      I understand your concerns, but I think: Valentina wants 'to do what is unthinkable. Death and RESURRECTION!'. She don't want to reflect on the Marcia!
      LIFE, that's what she wants!! JOY!
      Such contradictions often exist by Beethoven.
