I’m 50. Born in 1972. I discovered hip hop in the wave of 1983 and stuck with it religiously. Around 1988 aged 16 I heard a different sound. I ignored it, but it picked at me. Over the next 3 to 4 years I couldn’t ignore it. 1994 was a pivotal year for me. Aged 22 went to my first jungle rave and over the next few years dipped in and out but always was a hip hop head. I don’t think I’ve ever heard this tune before. I remember going into black market with money on hip, not loads, maybe a ton and not buying jungle, still buying hip hop. The shelves upstairs were awash with jungle white labels for peanuts. Around 1997 I discovered rhythm and sound and over the next 10 years I leaned more into dub techno and jungle, discovering Photek and source direct. I had been to the metalheads nights a few times and while I maybe didn’t absorb it all, I FELT IT. I started buying proper jungle 12s every now and again about 8 years ago. When I discover gems like these I put them on my Discogs buy list. This is dope. In July 2022 I listen to jungle 50% of the time at least. Soon I’ll have a go at making some. That is all, I felt compelled to tell this story. Peace , love and unity through music, roots and culture…👊
Record shopping at Blackmarket (and Unity)....those were the days! Buying tunes, collecting flyers on a Saturday morning, then going raving that night! Wicked timed never to be repeated!
Born in 78 tuned into hiphop and raggae mid 80s was taken by the jungle scene in 92.gone back to oldskool breaks and popping and scratching.i do have all the 90s classic DnB Raggae and hiphop on vvinyl 😊
@djshumon Born in '77 and still raving. Went to a night called Rupture recently. One of my favourite nights, its been going for about 15 years now. *Deep* underground new school jungle with some classics thrown in. Up for it crowd. A lot of older headz in attendance too!
im 40, been into hip hop my entire life, my wife rediscovered jungle during the pandemic, and now its all I listen too, diving back to the 90s to engage in this cultural movement, I wish i could have been part of it when it happened, I taught myself to DJ and Produce just so I can be closer to this music, it moves me in a way nothing ever has, LTJ Bukem Atlantis (probably the best song ever made in the history of time lol) Nookie, Goldie, Roni, the list is endless. This tune has been spun many times in the last few years in my house. There is a pretty big community on twitch that came together during the last few years and Ive learned a ton from that crew, old heads, new heads, its just a good time, hell I even made friends with L Double, talked to Mickey Finn, El Hornet, Dj Slip, Strangah, to name a few. Im very greatful for Jungle and Drum and Bass, saved my life (literally)
Just an incredible track - such a perfect crossover - shades of hardcore, samples, the innocence of ethereal DnB (barely coined in 93) but with such attitude - the kind that would be furthered with jungle/darkside etc. Find this period in music so fascinating; everything moving at such a fast pace, many of the producers kind of teaching themselves, which is why (I reckon) this sort of stuff lives on - it carries the blind energy and enthusiasm of an incredibly motivated generation.
welcome 2 the future , 2 sample spots , mr kirks nightmare and manuel gottsching e2 e4 mindblowing, the dilligence and hardwork that went into hardcore .... hardcore will never die , we r eeeee :;)

53yo here remembers (just about) some very naughty memories to this tune. Fond messy memories made Paradise, Telepathy, Roast, Labyrinth , roller, Rocket, Astoria, (breakfast club afterwards) and many more. Absolutely loved raving Hardcore, jungle back in the day lived for clubbing.❤❤
This song was of the first few songs that introduced me to jungle and early dnb. The picture it paints in the mind trough music is beyond anything seen in person throughout the world.
Back in 2022! Been playing this on and off for 28 years now and still (and always will) love it! Hard to describe how banging the 90's rave scene was! This tune is top, top, top fucking class!
Matt Bell ya gives me goosebumps! This really takes me back to my teens, living in Romford listening to Unity, Shakedown, Eruption, Kool and Weekend Rush!
Interestingly enough - this is actually in rotation again with me in my sets alongside a bunch of *newer* 150 and 160 tunes from the 'Dead Man's Chest' crew and a few others. I got lucky and nabbed it on wax around when it was released, and it was a show stopper every single time pulled :D Really ahead of it's time - so amazingly well programmed and thought out!
Peace and love and acieeeeed house ☮️ 💙 ☺️.... Jungle techno warfare at its finest 🤪🤪😉😉🎶🎶👍46(47 nearly) and I'm still LOVING IT JUST LIKE THAT 😉... From the first time I was at a licensed rave.. Fantazia.. Nye 91... To the amazing CASTLEMORTON experience in 92 🙃🙃 and all the rest in between up until I was at an all night recently in Bristol (motion nightclub) and I was still fully having it when the sunshine was out and looked at the young uns... I was completely shocked to see that they were all so more worried about how they were looking whilst they tried to dance lol. The original old skool posse (89-93) certainly knew how to let it go and not care about how we looked.. I got a few weird looks as if they had never even known how we were the proper rave pioneers in every blood clot way lol 😂... All I could see was mobile phones and most of them were wearing clothes for a night out in a city centre club where people go to try and pull or something.. I am very glad to be able to say that I was part of the original acid house raver scene... The original djs must be horrified by the way it's become.. Peace and love and acieeeeed house ☮️ 💙 ☺️
