Peaky blinders got me into this song and artist lol
Me to I just rewatched the second season over.. it's episode 2. 8 mins in.
Peaky Blinders music selection is really great. The artists and songs are way too beautiful and haunting.
A Masterpiece. To capture so much life's gravity and tenderness in such a brief echo of a song. Beauty beauty beauty.
Terrible how different the world is when people aren't in fear of you. From contract phones to thieves to my own father. Terrible truth. Hopefully rach ruth an mam will recover with myself. Thank u to everyone thats made my recovery this far possible n thanks to entire francis family for trusting me with your youngest child, sister. So lucky i am.
We need to realize how blessed we are to see all the footage of PJ in her studio and creating . She is one of a kind
White chalk...Best album out of all the most amazing albums, PJ I adore you...THIS IS MUSIC
Right, I doubt that she has many better records and she can't hold a candle to Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Chrissie Hynde, Graham Parker and the Rumor, Morrissey, The Replacements, etc. You need to be Woke. Just kidding, do what you like but the song is boring.
PJ Harvey brought me here.
I loved this song from the album White Chalk. And had the great surprise to discover from season 2 how PJ Harvey music fit perfectly the Peaky Blinders. I read Cillian McMurphy had submitted it himself.
Just heard PJ for my first time on Peaky Blinders. I’m so glad I found her. I’m haunted by the voice.
PJ Harvey is music. Music is PJ Harvey.
It’s in her blood. It’s in her body. It’s in her soul.
And for that we should all be eternally grateful.
Thank you Polly ( for everything).
When i first heard Polly Jean Harvey here on CZcams i felt immediately that she is a musical giant! the voice is like velvet silk. the songwriting is phenomenally great. greetings from germany.
PJ is the only artist to have won the British Mercury music award twice - in 2001 and 2011 (when she beat Adele).
Another Peaky masterpiece, on the way to introduce Alfie. Brilliant 👏
I thought nothin could beat her first three albums.. this'n sailed o'er them.. hauntingly good🖤
Very beautiful song
she's more than unique this is what an Artist sounds like, adept, non-definable borderlined ,exquistely envisioned , executed .
White Chalk and Is This Desire were underrated? News to me!
Peaky Blinders special.. 👑
What an amazing soft and Heavenly voice
I think its a beautiful CD, I didn't get PJ before this and sadly I don’t think many got this version of PJ, I love the fact that it haunts me, that’s what art is supposed to do
Love to all spud custard
Her voice is just so........haunting :)
PJ Harvey never denied the song was about abortion. What she actually said when questioned was
"That's obviously what you hear, but for me it's not actually tied to anything specific, like an abortion. These aren't just words. They're songs. They inhabit themselves, really" ie it's open to interpretation by the listener.
I love PJ, but never really cared for this song. But today I really took time to read the lyrics and quietly listen to this song like someone with a new pair of ears. Beautiful.
The whole album is wonderful. i love the layers.
The ceiling is moving
Moving in time
Like a conveyor belt
Above my eyes
When under ether
The mind comes alive
But conscious of nothing
But the will to survive
I lay on the bed
Waist down undressed
Look up at the ceiling
Feeling happiness
Human kindness
The woman beside me
Is holding my hand
I point at the ceiling
She smiles so kind
Something's inside me
Unborn and unblessed
Disappears in the ether
This world to the next
Disappears in the ether
One world to the next
Human kindness
thank you for being, Polly.
Wonderful composition. Thank you for this!!! Best iv´e heard in 2023
I just returned here after almost a decade lol I used to listen to this song all the time when I was 19-20. My best friend at the time used to complain that it was too depressing hah
*looks around at the comments*
Nice to see Beaky Blinders giving PJ more deserved attention
PJ Harvey brought me here...been a fan since the early 90s
I adore this song but it makes me feel a little unsettled every time i listen to it!
PJ Harvey is a brilliant and inspiring woman.
by order of the peaky fookin blinders
Tommy shlebey riding boat in river ❤❤❤
human kindness!!!
Peaky blinders 🖤
The woman in the beginning is Edith Cavell, a british nurse from the WWI shot for "spying" because she helped German soldiers too, is it right? Since I saw her picture, suddenly I imagined that this song is a perfect image of what it would be like to be in a soldier's head ful of morphine or ether or whatever, after coming to a operation desk from the hell of frontline, to a woman like as generous as that.
And yes, peaky blinders brought me here. greetings from Serbia :)
Good stuff 👏
Cuando llega al corazón eriza la piel
excellent to ponder
Peaky blinders❤
My good taste in music brought me here.
Costo mucho pero al fin te encontré, hermoso tema!
Brilliant song. Humankindness seems intentionally ambiguous, it is about the human kindness that made the abortion procedure possible, and the humankind-ness that leads to this sort of situation. It is amazing that a short song has more depth than 95% of the "feminism" discourses you see in media or in college these days, Polly is a true artist.
I´d interpret it as intentionally ambiguous, too. The alleged "kindness" towards the mother and the lack thereof towards the unborn child.
@@laragutbrod9731 How do you know it was even fit to live? There are many many, many reasons for abortion.
@@laragutbrod9731 You made an extremely naive comment. Have a much deeper think about the bigger picture.
This song brought me to the Peaky Blinders and i dont fooking regret it
TE AMOOOO
Ok, since these "The Following brought me here" remarks have taken over the comment section of late, for those not watching the series but curious about context, this song plays near the end of The Following episode entitled, "Whips and Regret" which was first aired in the states on 4/1/13. They play a good chunk of the song in the last few minutes.
Wow...just wow
What a good song wow
Love it! ❤️
Was unsure regards buying this album. But this has changed my mind.Just the first two records to get now.!
My favorite Modern Artist, by far one of my favorite of all time.

Thomas shelby and the boat
Peaky Blinders 🙏🏾
Happy Mother's day!
What I like about her as I'm here checking out a lot of her music for the first time is she's really out there if you pay attention to her lyrics. When I started this being out of work because of the pandemic a month ago I started going thru all my cassettes. I have about 30 tapes of all my ideas over the years before I went digital and the about 200 mix tapes and other stuff. I came across a tape of PJ that was on the b side of a mix tape.....I was like I remember I used to like this artist and decided to keep the tape. I was like I'll listen to it while I'm painting next week. Then strangely she came up in my suggestion box while looking at another artist.
Peaky blinders!🖤
White Chalk and Is This Desire? her best and most underrated albums!
maybe someday the same will happen on that dusty floar...of whats good and whats not good yet...prayers musts..love ya ''jezus-girl''....i must love her too...its not an eassy way for just us...god bless us all incl.her and enemy
The Following
Her body. Her right. Her decision. PJ u r poetic Queen Scribe of the worlds beyond reason, logic and the veneer of mundane life... plunging hands deep into other realms beyond to clutch new creative imaginings to share with us.... Will you marry me?
Sailing down to Camden Town..
this song is so fire
a chilling song more like it.
So much PJ stuff I haven't seen or heard before
we are Peaky foookinn Blinders !
A hauntingly golden song 😊
I've been a fan of Polly for many _many_ years though I must say I've fallen out of favour with her more recent work. This is the last track of hers I really loved.
I'm just biding my time until she straps her Firebird back on and cranks the overdrive up again!! The 50ft Queenie shall rise again!! 😈😈😈
I'm ARTHUR FUCKING SHELBY seriously one of the best shows I've seen
Classic.
Her best album for sure, weird, but her best.
Harvey's haircut in this vedio is really adorable.....I just love it! and there's no need to comment about her music.
Nice to see analogue tape being used. I think this is Polly's best album, better than Let England Shake.
PEAKY FOOKIN BLINDERS

obgd peaky blinders
such a great chill song
The song coupled with the scene of Tommy riding down the canal to meet Alfie, one of the most peaceful, yet haunting scenes..takes you away.
