I got the Trooper from my wife for Xmas a couple years ago. Pretty good for the price. Once I filled up the bag, I had the same issue with tipping over constantly. I fixed it by measuring the bottom of the bag, and cutting a piece of thin stiff plastic to match, and stuck that under my discs. I used an old busted plastic tote I had in my garage and a utility knife to cut the rectangle. Totally solved the problem.
I have the Trooper. Right off the bat, you hit on my two big gripes about it - getting the discs at the ends in and out, and tipping over all the time.
I really enjoyed this video, I think you nailed the gripes about the trooper I use to rock one when I first started then switch to the atlas pioneer but that one also tends to fall over quite a bit. If someone is looking for a good cart that is still compact I would recommend the Zuca All-Terrain Cart its a more money and little taller than the compact but does have 2 zipper pockets enough room inside for 27 discs at least that what I have in mine. But when I don’t need back ups I use the top to hold my hoodie or whatever other bigger items I have. Sure I have to put the handle down but no issues transporting in my trunk personally.
Early on I used an Innova over-the-shoulder bag and I wish I had known about the trooper. My first backpack style bag, after outgrowing the over-the-shoulder one, was a Hyzerbomb FlakX backpack and it worked well but wore out over time. After that bag was basically tearing apart I splurged and got myself a Pound Octothorpe and it is the most comfortable backpack I have ever carried. Since getting it I have tried Grip and I have tried a cart but nothing can compare to Pound. It comes in at probably the highest price-point in terms of disc golf equipment but it is so worth it.
Hilly courses are not harder with a cart IMHO after using my Zuca and other carts for years and living next to ski area disc golf course.
Fair enough, I’m sure it’s preference. Never was that enjoyable for me 😅
Would love if youtubers would start reviewing the Guru Sigr bag more
Interesting, had to look it up. Never heard of it until now!
@@ChasinChains Its Scandinavian. Pretty good and practical bag. Good size, nice sidepockets, and a opening to the main room from the back so discs dont get wet when it rains!
The discology OG is a great alternative as well. It also suffers from the same issues as the grip bag.
I use the OG and I can say I absolutely love the bag. Hands down best bag for the price. But as stated suffers from the same cons as grip.
Love this. Everyone talks about discs. No one talks about gear. Maybe retriever battle next
The grip back pocket is for small items. I keep dog poo bags, my keys, my wallet in there. Then the side pockets for things you want to access during the round without risking pulling out your keys and losing them.
A bagboy cart is way better than zuca. Uses your current bag, smaller storage, discs off ground, doesnt tip over. Just a better experience
