and one of my first Zx Spectrum games in the early days, not a easy game, but look at those lovely colours and graphics, great gameplay and fun.

Me and my mate Andrew mapped this when it came out. Not easy without infinite lives. We got it published in Crash! magazine. Some other lad called Joel also got a co-credit IIRC. Happy times.

One of my faves from Ultimate here, still looks lovely and colourful for the time too, brings back a lot of great memories playing this with my brother on the old Spectrum 48k rubber keyboard, those were the days 👍

Enjoyed that mate. Might do a comparison between Speccy and Beeb at some point as I have both. The Beeb version is pretty great aswell although Sabre Wulf will always be a Speccy game for me. What a game!

IIRC, this was the first Spectrum £10 game and came in a black "deluxe" box. I never finished it either, like you got 3 pieces ONCE. I coudn't understand how low the completed % was when I died having collected 3 lol. Very vibrant Ultimate graphics and slick playability whilst challenging. What blew my mind a few years ago was when I found out that Ulimate had finished Knightlore (Sabre mans supposedly 2nd outing) before they finished his first appearance in Sabre Wulf, but delayed release due to leap in graphics to not impact Wulfs sales.
I had the big box version at first, got lost when we moved house I think.
I know knightlore was massive when it was released for being isometric etc, but I preferred Sabre wulf any day lol 👍

Nice colours and graphics on this one Paul mate I have never seen it before but looks a nice one to play. That wolf just would not leave you alone at the end mate 🤣 the speccy can churn out some funky tunes and went great with the lights 🙂👍
Ok Glen, great Ultimate game, played this and jetpac all the time when we were kids, still love to have a bash at it now and again even though it's proper hard to play at times 😆

Like i said before, never had this back in the day, dont remember trying either until recent years even though i remember borrowing that Sold a Million pack off someone at school. I couldn't get on with it when i did get round to playing it, Ultimate were awesome though 👍

I remember sabre wolf, had it on the commodore 16 plus 4, it was a great classic, took weeks to complete it and it was full of things telling you that if you reached the end then there was a surprise for you,, yeah, that surprise was a statement telling you to look out for sabre wolf 2 coming out soon,, I felt disappointed at that, and another thing, I never found sabre wolf 2 either, was it ever made or released?
Hello there, Sabre Wulf is a classic I have fond memories playing with my brother back in the day.
I only ever found 3 parts of Amulet so never finished it.
But yes, Sabre Wulf 2 would've been Knightlore featuring Sabreman again. It's an Isometric game, it was massive back in the day, but I prefer Sabre Wulf. Another game too was Underwurlde, it was ok too 👍

Was never much of a fan of sabrewolf, I always found games where baddies constantly re-spawned annoying and frustrating.

Cheers there. This is a very early game on the Zx Spectrum, a classic by Ultimate Play the game, who later become Rare.
And mate, you can't call the Zx Spectrum 48k and console lol.
It's a 8-bit Home micro computer made by Sinclair in 1982, it plays games and you can program on it too.
It's got a massive library of all different kinds of games play, enjoy it if you can 👍 😊
