Welcome back Vern. You have so many projects on the go. Impressed with your 3D printed knob holder, fantastic idea. You mentioned about cutting a new back and I thought I could do one for your and send it over but then you showed the laser cut antenna jig and I remembered you have a cutter 🤦‍♂ You have one of everything. The portable Iso-Tip soldering iron looks good but it looks like they only make 120 volt models unfortunately. The portable iron I use takes 20 seconds to get to temp making it tedious to work with. I'm looking forward to your videos again Vern 👍🙂

I had one of the old banana-style Iso-tip ni-cad soldering iron back in the 1990s to do small avionics wiring jobs. My battery finally died and I only recently found the unit in an old box. My Hakko is nice, but I used to love my Iso-tip iron for quick jobs. No extension cord needed. It was great. I will try and resurrect my old setup. Thanks.

First of all...Welcome home! That printed car is quite cute. Second, your fixture for making knobs might be interesting to *Jim Burns,* since he makes his own Knobs, Back covers, Antennas and Stickers that look original. I'll send him an email and tell him to watch this video and your device. He may be interested in that! He does his antennas a little different.

I had the Gray version of the ISO-TIP waaaay back when. I have to say: I DON'T like the lead-free solder; because it looks like a cold solder joint when it cools!

I've been using what are now "Iso-Tip" irons like you since way back in 1975 when it was the "Wahl Clipper" company...have two modern units on the bench. Great to take out to the antenna field for quick fixes. The only thing I don't like about them is they've done away with the LED in the base that showed that they were actually charging. Modified my first one with one and still need to do the same with the new ones. 73 - Dino KLØS

Hmmm, Live in Pak Chong just outside Khao Yai National Park. Two hour drive to BKK. Spend our time traveling ( see the videos on my channel ).
Perhaps folks whose life is video games hang out there. 😗
