- We're officially back in the Philippines and we're on the southern tip of Cebu. We came back to cash in some rain checks from adventures that we missed on our first trip to the island last year. We are about to go to canyoneering through the rivers, waterfalls, jungles, and-you guessed it-canyons of Alegria. It’s going to be challenging for Erin and me but probably even more so for Brooklyn and Colt. Just how high is our family willing to go?

That is fun. But the best mango in the Philippines is in Iloilo, which is located in Guimaras Island. You have to visit Panay Island. Which composed of Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan and Antique. Thank you for loving our country.

I agree! Iloilo/Guimaras has the BEST mangos in the Philippines. When you have time, you must visit Panay! It’s beautiful and clean and I know your family will love it. And you could stop by Boracay again!
I traveled with my daughter as much as I could. Now with my grandson we travel all the time with him. Travelling can help children develop important life skills and boost their confidence by encouraging independent thinking and action. It instills courage, self-awareness, and independence in children, making them more adaptable and open-minded. This helps them to explore new things and build a strong sense of self. Additionally, travel exposes children to different cultures and customs, and allows them to interact with people who may look or think differently from them.
We completely agree and are hoping our kids get all those benefits from travel.
Cebu is definitely an Island of Adventures! From the South, you can do falls hopping, sardines run, swim with the whalesharks; To the north, you have nice prestine
beaches, caving and lakes at Camotes Island, Cebu. I suggest to check Camotes Island as well ;)
Our next episode is swimming with whale sharks. We’d love to come back and do the sardines run.
such a beautiful thing to just stop and appreciate a place and express gratitude for having the experience. A lot of people don't realize this until the experience is already a memory.
It makes the journey so much more enjoyable if you stop to appreciate it while you're there.

Guimaras Island is like a mango island where you can eat mango pizza, beef stew with mango, in mango festival eat all you can mango for $3 😅
Mangoes from Guimaras island is one of the sweetest in the world. I know this being from Guimaras.
Samar manggoes is also sweet
Allegria is a level up than Kawasan. Your kids are troopers. So proud of them. I would say you're raising two world-class future world travelers.

Some say Cebu has the best mangos... some say Guimaras has the best mangos... I will say there is a Mango festival in Guimaras Island that you might want to check out. SUPER SWEET mangos!

We can't imagine doing another three hour tour further down. But if you have the strength I bet it's beautiful!

Anyways, Guimaras has the best Mangoes here in the Philippines but there are good mangoes anywhere here. Great videos again!

Oh the hanging rice we would eat that with the meat/barbecue. Like in one bite, you'd have a chunk of rice and meat/barbecue at the same time. It's not sticky rice. Just regular rice wrapped in coconut leaves.

kawasan falls is being renovated that is why its closed , this is the chance for alegria to shine , as it has always taken a back seat from the more famous kawasan falls!
We'll have to get back and try the other falls soon. This was such a fun summer adventure!
