Hello everyone!! REMINDER: Turn On your Subtitles for up-to-date corrections on any rules mistakes made during the video. Thanks!

Nitpick: The campaign isn't necessarily played "in one sitting". That's optional. The box has a "save" feature. So you can play 1, 2 or all 3 acts of a campaign in one session and otherwise continue at a later date.
Also, the "expansion" isn't a regular expansion. Base Arcs and Blighted Reach together is the original game as originally envisioned.
But during early testing of the core mechanics Leder Games found out that the core is by itself already a solid game. Thus base Arcs got extracted in time for the campaign. This makes base Arcs a more affordable option and helps people learn the base game mechanics before delving into the more involved campaign.
Just saying - the campaign is not an afterthought add-on.
Nice video, solid overview, good summary and first impressions.

Not seeing anywhere where intercept cannot destroy an attacking ship. If an intercept ring is present on any dice the defender scores one hit per fresh ship. In the scenario you presented, if the attacker has 1 fresh and 1 damage ship versus 3 fresh defenders and an intercept ring is rolled, the attacker is done. The 3 hits destoy both the damaged and the fresh attacking ship.
If you rolled any number of (intercept rings) the defender
intercepts you-hit any of your attacking ships once
per fresh defending ship. (This can only happen once
    per battle!)

You’re right! Sorry about that. Thanks for the correction. I will add notes to the video to overlay any rules mistakes I made.

Small note, if any ambitions are not declared they are not flipped. The lowest value one is flipped at the end of each chapter until they are all flipped.

Good rules catch! We missed that detail. Thanks!!

What do you mean by ambitions not being flipped if they were not declared? In the rulebook it says you flip the lowest ambition marker that hasn’t been flipped, doesn’t matter if it was declared or not.

@luuklute yes, my mistake, you’re right! I had read that rule incorrectly.

@@talkingcardboard ah I thought @SoLove was saying you don’t flip we they’re not declared

@luuklute yeah, don’t know why I confused that rule so easily. Just glossed over it quickly and thought I understood it… that’s what I get for assuming/generalizing. I blame it on having played so many board games over the years!

I think luck is a must have aspect of board games. It's exciting! If absolutely nothing is based on luck in a game then there can be no real shocking moments and no "hope" in the game. If everything is based on calculations then there will be no screaming, chanting and hurray-ing in the game. That's why I can't have fun playing chess for example. Also I'm not very intelligent. If you are super intelligent but not allowed to use that all the time then I can see how that could be frustrating. But still boring no?
