  • The Flags From Mississippi: Emblems Through Time special exhibit at the Two Mississippi Museums houses rare flags spanning periods of Mississippi history including WWII. The practice of using an American flag as a coffin drape to honor soldiers and veterans has been observed since the nation’s beginning.
“Flags From Mississippi Gallery Talk: Conservation” with MDAH director of conservation Kathryn Etre discussed the preservation of flags within the exhibit and the role of museum conservators to help preserve these artifacts for future generations. The event is free and open to the public.
