Wow. What a white knuckled approach! Extreme work load. Good CRMT. Bad weather, heavy load, SEVERELY limited viz, wind, clouds, soaked runway. 😅 I just now exhaled. To be honest. I was expecting a go around. I’m glad everything turned out well. Cap was laughing in the end, but “the need to get there” phenomenon has resulted in some not so pleasant outcomes in the past. Once again. I’m very grateful for a happy outcome.

I've experienced landings like this in Manila a few times. Not ideal, but these highly-skilled pilots are amazing. One time we landed in rain like this with crosswinds. As the plane approached the runway, the pilot turned it sideways enough that I was looking down the runway. Because a friend told me about his same experience as a passenger in similar conditions, I was calm because I knew exactly what was happening. Had I not had that knowledge, I might have been petrified. haha

Nothing is more motivated than the windscreen wipers on a passenger plane...
No one can just pilot a passenger plane and here we see another reason as to why. Such skills and technical expertise are with our pilots, amazing people who can take in so much information, knowing what controls, buttons, etc to turn at just the right time. I once was a plane that landed in dense fog at Manchester airport, and that was amazing.
They are humans like you and me and have gone through assement centers and training. They are not superheros.

I thought I heard the controller clear an aircraft to cross RWY 5R and the aircraft refused citing landing traffic.
Nice video, and great combo crew, but you never take the hand from the throttle prior to land the airplane Cap.

I am sure they were using a zoom lens and that other plane was not too close. I have been on flights where other planes flew by within a visible range, and other times when we seemed to be "racing" another plane off to the side and at a different flight level.
