  • We spent months working with the team at Titanium Caravans months designing and building the ULTIMATE Off Grid/Off Road Caravan - the DESTINATION X. We have really stepped it up in this build and taken caravanning to a whole new level! With weight and size no longer an issue thanks to the Silverado having a large BTC, a lot of our previous restrictions have disappeared which made the design process so much more fun.
    In Part 1 - The Build, we take you through the full caravan build from creation of the Cruisemaster Suspension and S&M Chassis, right through to each part of the process in the brand new Titanium Caravans factory in Campbellfield.
    In Part 2 (to be released next week), we take you through the colour choices, give you a van tour plus reveal what we have decided to name this BRAND NEW MODEL! Any guesses?
    We want to give a huge shout-out to all the legends involved who have helped make this incredible caravan possible:

    Our son told us to watch your CZcams on your new van, it looks amazing can’t wait to see inside. We have had our Sunland van for 4 years now we built it from new. We put the cruise master ATX but with drum drakes. Our van has no gas inside the either. We have the Eberspatcher hot water & heater combo, and as you said the hot water is amazing. We did have some issues with the heater but that got sorted. We have a diesel cooktop inside. No Oven. We have 1 gas bottle outside to power our Ziggler & Brown BBQ. After watching your vid on your new van we fell quite chuffed with what we have on our Sunland. Going to start following you guys.

    Looks like a well planned process and high quality build! How do this routers cut the holes but without damaging the frame as the holes don't appear to be marked? It looks like to solar panels are purely glued on - is that right?

      @AussieDestinationsUnknown  Před 2 lety

      Thanks mate…yea extremely well built caravans.

    Hello! I really like the Floorplan of your van. I can't find this Floorplan on the Titanium website. Is this model only custom-made? I'm from Russia and this is the perfect van for our roads!! Please tell me, is it well isolated? I suppose if it keeps the Australian heat, then with a diesel heater it will keep the heat even at -20 C. Is it possible to order additional insulation and heating of tanks? And greetings from cold Russia)

  • @rodmcisaac3

    I just "discovered" your channel and I find your trailer build very educational. It's quite an improvement over most of the units we have here (Canada), except for the lack of cold proofing the water systems. lol I observed one thing during the wiring segment of the frame which surprised me. The view was brief and it looked like the tech. was running a bundle of wires inside the frame rails. This seems like a potential problem zone. Should the loose wires vibrate/ shake enough, I suspect a hard-to-find fault could result. My experience has been positive with running HD 6 or 7 conductor trailer cable (with a good outer sheath) the length of the trailer and terminating in a junction box. The individual connections to each light, brake, or camera etc., then branch out from the junction box. This way any diagnostics is fairly straightforward. I could not see if Titanium's system is better overall, and just the idea of wires hidden in frame rails causes me concern. I look forward to working my way through your library of videos. On the side, your driving a Chev in Australia really caught my eye. I like the build.

    • @AussieDestinationsUnknown
      @AussieDestinationsUnknown  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for your feedback Rod and a Happy New Year to you.
      In regards to the wiring, if you noticed in the framing section all uprights have stamped holes. Every hole that has wiring pass through it has a strong plastic cap to protect it. Titanium has never had a problem with this. It’s well and truely proven to be a very good solution.
      Haha and yep we love our Silverado!! They are such an amazing tow vehicle. Australian cars just don’t do it in my eyes. As long as we tow we will always have an American truck 🙌🏼
